Why Is Jagex Making Lower Levels Player Mods?

Featured Replies

Well today I saw who was only 77, I looked her up, and she was only like 800 total! Then I saw a level 60 something player mod with barley 700 total, why is Jagex doing this? No offense to some of these people, but some of them don't know much. The level 77 asked me what I was wearing, and it was a laderhosen hat. -.- I'd just assume if Jagex would make someone a player mod they'd have to know alot about the game and be someone high leveled.

I thought I heard someone on these forums say Jagex said something about them making more player mods, and then he pointed out the fact that's they're all level 80 and below with crap skill total.

I'm asking, what is Jagex doing? :uhh:

Well, I'd personally understand if the low level mods were pro players like Zzzamorak. But when they don't know what items are and important runescape information, makes me wonder what JaGeX is up to.

If they know the rules and what they're supposed to look for as moderators... I suppose it's fine.

The chances of a particular player is not based on their combat level or total level of their character but on their experience and behaviour of all their characters in the game. This means that while you will not see a fresh player off tutorial island given a Player Moderator status, you may see some with lower combat levels than you are expecting. Remember that we do investigate accounts fully before giving them Player Moderator status so if you see the crown, the player will have earned it.

Are you jealous, or what?

So basically, they don't care if your acually good at Runescape, as long as you've like.. never been reported/temp banned? They don't even care if you don't know what the hell a laderhosen hat is? :-s

I myself would rather have a person that's acually good at the game that's been reported once or twice then someone with 800 skill total that doesn't know alot about Runescape.. :-k

The only problem I have with some lower level mods is their amount of experience with the game.

I agree, that's my only point.

And no, there is no reason for me to be jealouse, I wouldn't be a mod unless you paid me.

I agree with you i dont mind lower level players being mods at all but i do think they should be players that have a good knowledge of the game.

wishkahbanks.gif

Oh gawd, there are crap leveled P-Mods!?! Let's all wet our panties and run for the hills!!!!!!

No, seriously, I think Jagex did that to a few low level players so that other low levels will go like "omg jagex does that to crap level accounts, I think I'll start to be report happy so that I can have a cool crown next to my name!"

It's purely false hope+publicity to make the game clearer :?

Then fork out money for the full version.

Ooooh f2p'ers just got BURNED by a Tip It mod!

Yeah, the player mods aren't there to help you, they don't have to know anything about the game except the rules, and follow them. Their only job is to report rulebreakers they see while playing

Uula.png

they can make whatever level mod they want its not about what that characters level is its about how long they've been playing and if they are good people because they could have been playing for three years and only be level 40 (like me) its just some people are so terribly addicted they their skin is white and others (like me) have a life outside of runescape and acctually leave the house.

it doesnt matter if youve been banned unless you have constantly been reported and banned if you do not continue to break the rules you will still have as good of a chane as every one else

still a classic'er

Wars aren't won by dying for your country, it is won by making the other sons of b*tches die for theirs.period.

i agree with blackeagle, most of the low lvl mods i've met were a bunch of report happy brown-nosers. some of them have nothing better to do then walk around looking for someone to report. personally i think members should be able to say whatever we want to without getting banned or whatever. we do pay for it... oh i know, they should provide an option whether or not we want cencorship or not. since parents use their credit cards to pay for their younger children to play, why not make cencorship their problem. that way the rest of us can have fun.

i think i saw it here b4 but didnt read i'll go look around but if someone could post a link that would be cool

for those who don't speak 'Irritated Baboon with Aids' i'll attempt to translate:

Zzzamorak is a level 3 mod (skiller). He's an old friend of mine

What's wrong with being reported? Being reported doesn't mean you've done anything. Being temp banned/muted is.

Someone said he reported me once because I didn't say 'hello' to him...

  • Never trust anyone. You are always alone, and betrayal is inevitable.
  • Nothing is safe from the jaws of the decompiler.

From the KB:

Player Moderators are there to help monitor fair play in the game. It is up to the individual Player Moderator whether they offer in-game assistance and they are under no obligation to do this. Their role is merely to report offenses as and when they see them.

So basically, no, they don't really have to know more about the game other than the rules. It's about the quality of the time you spend in game, and not the quantity.

If Jagex ever made a perfect update, there would be players complaining about nothing to complain about.

[hide=My Stats]Jake_Corsair.png[/hide]

mods can be any level although if there was a mod that was a higher lvl than me i would respect it more.

To be honest I don't give two *beeps* about what level they are, if they ask me what armour I'm wearing.

They are there just to keep peace etc. I wouldn't respect them more if they were a higher level. It just shows that not every high level is a ''good'' player.

It doesn't matter if you have been temp banned. You can still be a PMod. Trust me someguy asked a PMod that.

Jagex asumes that if you've done somethign bad before you oculd do it again, you're chances to be a pmod is lowered. The levels and gasme experience doesn't count towards anything. It goes after appearance in the game, at the forums and i guess reporting.

P.S: I'm a pmod myself so I know most of this.

Those low levels reported enough cool people for lame reasons just to become Pmod.

Well, most low levels in f2p don't even know what a pmod is. I should know, because i have to explain it about 20 times in the 2 hours i get to play a night. I'm only lvl 76, but I've played for 2 years. I just don't like combat.
