anyways, on topic, i have a mapex 5 piece with a few zildjian A-custom crashes and an amir ride. i havent played in a few years, since i attended college. i rented a house this year instead of staying in the dorms, so im contemplating bringing my set and starting to play again, but there's still the issue of time... or the lack of it. i used to play in a punk/rock band, but if i play here it will probably be metal/hardcore/whatever or a cover band

I am a drummer. I play for JHS Band. I play snare mainly however this year I did not make snare and got on bass drum.

i have a 5 peice peal/tama (Mixture) single tom double floor tom with all zildjian k cymbals i got a 12 splash 18 crash 16 crash 18 china 20 ride 8 splash a little ride bell thingy i use mike portnoy pro marks and i have a tama melody master snare

I have a 12 Piece Pearl Masters MMX with a Signature Joey Jordison Snare (Remo CS Coated skin), Vinnie Paul Snare, I won't say the tom sizes because I really can't be stuffed it's 12:11 am. I also have 2 20" Kickdrums and both hooked up to Tama Iron Cobra Powerglides. A single Tama iron cobra pedal attached to a cowbell. 3 Tambourines and 2 jam blocks. I have a 8" AA Sabian Splash, 10" AA Sabian Splash, 10" AAX Sabian Splash, 20" K Custom Ride, 18" K Custom Ride, HHX Hats (Primary Hats,) A Series Hats on my Secondary Hats. My hat stands match my pedals. Sabian AA Rock Crash 18", Sabian AAx Rock Crash 18", 18 Wuhan china, 16" Zildjian ZHT China, 20" Wuhan China, 17" Sabian AA Extra Thin Crash, 20" Sabian AA Metal-X Crash, 18" Sabian AAX Dark Series Crash, 18" Sabian AAX Metal Crash, 13" Sabian AAX Studio Crash, Sabian 10" HHX Splash, Sabian AA Metal-X 10" Splash, 1st Offset hi-hats, 14" El Sabor Hi Hats. Oh yeah, and all my tom skins are Evans Clear G2s, except snares.

My cheap "trash" drum set: snair 14'' jupiter dosent mach, mounted 13'' i think, 22'' kick stuffed, but no front head on it, 16'' floor i think another 12" tom(floor).

My friend has that kit, when you get more serious into drumming upgrade it. Upgrade it to a 100% wood kit.

oh well what would you recomend? ive had this kit for four years now....

mine sounds like "trash" but i like the sound and I can play many differint styles on it. until i get $600 that i wont spend on cymbals thats what ill use. its not lvels, its moola, for me.

 

 

 

oh ya i just went to the music store and im gunna buy an AAX 18" china 85 plus a stand for...35 bucks

 

also a wuhan 12" china (some how my friend had two but he uses it in a "good" song he plays) $70 pluss the $35 stand

Well for a a good kit thats not too much money, get a Gretsch Catalina Birch. It's a 100% Birch Kit that sounds awesome and doesn't burn a hole in your pocket. If you're going to get a double kick, get Iron Cobras, I have them and they are excellent. Cymbals, Sabian all the way people. Sabian AA, AAX, HH etc. Go to your drum store and test them out, and buy the ones you like. Remember they'll sound different in the store than at home. So ask if you can try at home before you buy.

No, I am not endorsed by Gretsch. You live in America yea? $750 for a kit thats semi-proffesional nearly professional is very good. It's a very good kit for your money. If thats expensive, you don't even wanna know how much my kit was :

ok that sold me, when i go to my moms(right now)(durring the schoolyear) i listen to a band who has a drum set sold for $500 insted of $1500(W\E) (pearl export i think red black white exosceliton)
