September 30, 200619 yr Relatively early in RS (circa 2002), Jagex announced two real-life weddings of people who met each other on RS. However, after they gave out a safety warning, they did no more announcements. Note that this was ages before Rule 13 was added, and Jagex probably doesn't want to encourage people to break Rule 13. Also, Jagex once announced the passing of a player named Siw[some numbers]. However, when The Old Nite passed away, Jagex did no similar announcements. I can understand the case if the family doesn't want it to be too publicized. But I still feel that Jagex is shying away from community involvement. Also, they removed the "community" category on the news. Any thoughts? ARENAscape: Baratus [AS] max hit: 166 with Moon Battle Hammer ixfd64 [AS] max hit: 116 with (untitled spell #2)
September 30, 200619 yr Em... it seems to me the addition of the RSForum definitely add some community involvement back into the game. All I learned in life, I learned on Tip.it
September 30, 200619 yr The community has got so big now that any involvement in one particular branch could be seen as favouritism. Sounds silly, I know, but believe me, there are enough idiots out there to be offended. This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.
September 30, 200619 yr Yeah, I remember when I first started playing.... :-k Now I sometimes feel that the Jagex staff themselves are busy playing another MMORPG  Pretty much what Dragon said.Thread terminated.I guess that means I'm the thread Terminator? No Tip.Iters were harmed in the making of this post.
September 30, 200619 yr Author Well, it's true. Back when RS was much smaller, the Gowers had a lot of personal touch, and there was a general "folksy" feeling to it. But now, RS is so big, Jagex can't cover everything. Any "favortism" would probably result in loads of complaints. September 30, 200619 yr It's much easier and safer for them to remain detatched, the community is too large for that kind of thing anymore. "Da mihi castitatem et continentam, sed noli modo"
October 1, 200619 yr Even if they are detaching, it would of been nice to have a little 'The Old Nite' funeral or something :(
October 1, 200619 yr People's RS friends who've died, would want them up there, they'd think Jagex only likes famous characters if they only put up deaths of [famous] people
October 1, 200619 yr may seem cheesy but if we submitted a name and proof that they died and they put the name on a tombstone and if you visit a cemetry it says RIP the person <the49ronin> O_o methinks ard is acting mighty high and pretty -.- <Ard_Choille> I am pretty <Ard_Choille> fo shizzle

Yeah there are a lot of people and it would be really hard to keep up with like 6million people or whatever it is
October 2, 200619 yr We, as members of Runescape are a very large community. There is no possible way to keep track of everyone, and treat everyone equally, other than giving no one special priveledges or attention.
