Import\Tuner Cars

My car, when i get it. 1994 Toyota Supra. First i'm doin' the engine, then outside, then interior. The horses this beast should put out are gonna be in the 850-900 range. Gonna slap on a Bomex body kit, APR alluminum wing. Interior, almost completly Sparco products. Wheel, seats, harnesses, pedals. And yes, 850-900 horses will KILL Ferraris, Lamborginis, and all those weird shaped "super" cars. =P~

Mr Gregg, I will belive you when I see it. The Supra is a car I respect (rear-wheel drive,) but if you dont build it right it may get 850 hp, but will blow up when you try to race it. I still doubt you will even get anywhere near that much power without using copios amounts of NOS. One more thing, how will you pay for this, take daddy's credit card?

To get those type of horses is fairly easy. The first round of upgrades will get me to 775hp. Then when I upgrade the camshafts it will go up to about 825hp. Then there is still a fairly large amount of upgrades left, which will increase the horses even more. I will have a little kit of NOS in it, but will probably never use, because I don't wish to lost my engine and have to rebuild it up again. And no, I won't take my parents cash, I'll pay for it 100% myself.

So, are you going to say what upgrades you are using here? Keith Ta managed to get his up to 1,200 at the crank, but he spent hundreds of thousands of dollars, and used a 2JZ-GTE dohc inline-six, Arias pistons, Carrillo Industries connecting rods, HKS Camshaft and Ignition, a Spearco/Turbonetics intercooler, and two huge Innovative Turbo Systems turbos blowing 34 lbs of boost. (Sorry if I sound skeptical, it's just some people on this forum like to talk about thier nonexistent fantasy cars that they supposedly own)

LOL, you think tint is rice? OK first of all real street racers get tint so the cherry tops dont see em stupid. Good lord dont think you are that fast, and a camaro haha. Rice is attitude not how your car looks. You must go up to people who dress weird and say ricer!! WHo gives a shiz if my car has big rims or a nice sound system? I'm not acting liek i could beat yoiu i just want some nice stuff. Anyways, if i got a really ncie car with big rims and stuff, it doesnt mean i couldnt smoke your lil camaro. And secondly, if a person could afford a big body kit, crazy paint dont you think that their engine could kill yours. Yeah some kids just put nice looks, but there are alot with beast engines and beast suspension kits, tranmission, crazy braks, tires and other things. Dont judge a book by its cover. If a guy has big rims and nice paint, dont gt jealous or dont automatically think they blew all of thier money on the exterior. Oh yeah btw im jsut gonna post a car for every post i make on here \'

Mmm....did I ever say I was fast? I said I'm as fast as a lightly modded V8 Camaro would be, everyones opinion of fast is different, I suppose. As I previously stated, theres nothing wrong with driving an import, or even modding the exterior. The problem is 95% of import "tuners" are clueless punks who want nothing more than attention.

Furthermore, most people who have crazy body kits, and a nice paint job, have nothing done performance wise. Thus, these are ricers. What I'm trying to get at is that THE VAST MAJORITY of tuners are clueless.

This isn't even import specific, I see riced domestics all the time, its all the same, stupid people with stupid cars.

I do agree, there are a ton of ricers. Even some kids at my school se a guy with a big a$$ spoiler and say "that thing must be suped up" When i juat laugh , cuz those downt raelly brong downforce. And there are those with the 6 inch exaust tips, i agree those are ricer. But haveing a crazy fast car is part of an import tuner. I mean looks are a part, i'm not asyin stick on some gay spoiler and a crapload of fiberglass and bon dough. I mean some body kits actually do serve a purpose, which is aerodynamics. Now i know there are the cheapo lip attackments to the bumper and side, but those r definately ricer. But i must say there is a difference between a show car and a tuner. There are some crosovers though. And here is another tuner for all your gazing pleasures ::'

Real street racers don't exist in they way you portray them, people who race on streets are soley based on engines you will never seen a body kit or sound system on a proper race car...

I'm sure you'll mature when you're older, as do most people go through a rice phase.

But don't kid yourself you WILL not own the car you posted, you will try to attempt to and end up making it into pure awful rice car.

Every time I see that car one word comes to my mind: minivan.

lol, i agree with you. Mini Oddysey  , but that's also one thing i love about it. It's so unique, i've gotten a lot of compliments on it, others asked me what kind of car it is, it just stands out.

00033631.jpg

That can actually be the definition of rice. Lets see, Lambo doors, the speakers in the doors, the rims look like they belong on an Eskalade, the whole body kit, the snow plow front bumper...i dont even wanna know what it looks like inside.

Some people think tint is rice, others dont. I personally like it, while i have friends who don't. It's sort of like a grey area.

And this is just the way the tunner mentality works. Most people who do major engine upgrades (more than just an intake and exhaust) don't focus that much on the outside of the car. They will put some decent rims, most likely 16's or 15's (less weight), maybe a small lip kit, but never a huge body kit, huge aluminum spoiler, subs in the trunk, because they KNOW it will just slow them down, therefore going against the work they are putting into the engine.

Don't worry, you have plenty of time to learn more about it.

Im glad someone here knows something about racing, I think he has just watched 2F2F one too many times... In real racing people actually care about weight, and a Honda civic would not beat a 1300+ HP mustang.

Nope, I copied the 775hp kit. Would you rather i typed it all down by hand? It's the kit I'm gonna get, 775hp for $7,300?? That's alot cheaper than buying all those parts seperatly.

Street Racing is so st00pid. I hate pretty much everyone that's involved with it too.

Nobody is talking about street racing on this thread but you.

We are the talking about cars themselves, not what the owners do with them.

ok just asking... is a 4 door e36 BMW with 18" advanti rims, $2k worth of sounds and 5%-35% tints riced?

The tint is unnecessary, the rims are unnecessary, and depending on the equipment, I'm assuming the sound system is unnecessary. The mods are ricey but if the car is fast, it outweighs it to some degree.

The tints are for security, people are less likely to break in when they don't know your wallet etc is there. + they offer good UV protection and stop glare from the sun so you have a better vision of the road.

The rims are lightweight, thus decreasing the inertia of the wheel which makes it easier to turn therefore increasing acceleleration, obviously that's why i got them. ::'

The sounds are quality over quantity... note the $2k is in NZD and i bought this stuff new back when it was the latest model, i'm aware it is worth less now.

If I ever owned a street car, the windows would be tinted. Mainly because it'd be a daily driver and I really do hate hoping into an oven at the end of a day.

I don't consider tint to be "rice". It does have its uses, however too many people who have tinted windows don't understand what the tint even does. Kinda like how most people with spoilers don't understand how they work - They just get it done because it looks good (rice mentality).

Anyhow, since I'm a 4x4 driver I have no real place in this thread just throwing around my $0.02 :P

Car looks nice, i like it. What color rims are you planning on getting? I'd say a nice gold color, i just love how gold looks on black. There's some nice Beemers with gold rims. And your sound system...i'm not a pro sound guy, but that seems like a lot of weight in your trunk, but it all goes back to you. It doenst seem you want some super fast car, just something that looks clean, and with your plans it sounds like it's gonna look good....just don't get some tacky rims.

I have no issue with window tint. I have a problem with overdone "limo" tint that ricers do that goes above and beyond the point of usefulness. It actually impedes vision outside of the car, but they think this is worth having "mad tyte tint" 18'' rims aren't overdone....I'm referring to huge, chrome rims that SLOW the car down due to increased weight. Obviously ricers feel this trade-off is worth it.

Obviously the system seems fine...I have nothing wrong with a sound system, I have a problem with 4 15''s thrown into a plywood box with inefficent equipment supporting it. I realized I was a bit vague in the earlier post, it needed clearing up.
