your animations are cool. I tried doing things like that once, but they turned out horrible.

Who doesn't? I mean, i'd pay to see that. As for it, my ideas keep changing, and my skills just aren't up to scratch to start it just yet. I have been practicing, but sometimes it just isn't that easy, especially when the tutorial you are using isn't specific in it's instructions.

One minute inside my head, its a Dr Evil style villain. Next, i see stormtrooper spartans, next it's giant godzilla style battles in ardounge, and i still have no idea how to do this without making it overcomplicated.

Until i have made something really good looking, and have a script set in stone, i ain't starting it, because i don't want to wreck it. Simple as that. I want to have it out for christmas, i really do, but i can't make promises to neither myself or anyone, because i will rush it, and it will look stupid.

Do this thunder hmmm.... i dont know how to say this... use Alpha and move it to "70%", it will looks like really tunder

I only use flash, but there should be a compression option somewhere in your program.

A new project appears!

Its been a few weeks since my last post, and the animations for the live T.V show came out top notch, and it went as good as we could have hoped for. Now that has gotten out of the way, it has made room for me to practice artistic approach, and to come up with a few ideas for a flash series.

I've been messing around with this great tutorial i found, and i think its starting to show. I've had this idea for a series for a while now, and below is the starting design for one of the main characters: I even took time to think of a profile for him. As with any idea, anything could change between now and the time i finish the product:

Name: Theuss

Race: Part werewolf?

Background info: Theuss was a soldier working in the 1st division of the army, when he got caught between a power conduit and a powerful curse. The result is that he has lost all of his magical combat abilities, and has become stuck in the form that he is today.

As a result, he has developed a bitter personality because of the experience. However, he still has his mechanical skills.

Combat info: Theuss used to be able to make use of a wide variety of attacks, but now he has been reduced to using weaponry. He carries a modified light-tech combat pistol, and has a wrist-mounted energy [Caution: Jagex Rule Violation] on his left arm.

These things might change yet, along with his design. I'm not incredibly happy with his hands or legs right now, so i will have to make some changes.

I'd also like some ideas about what to change in his design.

So i started work on the comic...

And it was horrible. And i thought to myself, "Oliver, if you're going to make a comic, you better do it right".

So, i began to ponder. To wonder and to think. How could i go about making something look good in the shortest possible time?

So tonight and possibly tomorrow on new year's eve/day, i am going to upload a work in progress. Its back to basics, just using the mouse to draw a character. So to start with the wireframe:

wireframemq8.png

Then the skin on a new layer:

skinof5.png

When combined the result is this thus far:

combinedan0.png

Time spent on drawing so far: 1 hour

Critique as i add to it would be appreciated please.

Naw, the basics are fairly easy to understand. My problem is with artistic direction, or the lack thereof.

Well, first off, you need flash macromedia. I use the MX 2004 edition. And second, no. Its too big to send over the internet. I got mine by asking around the college media department, you may be able to do the same.
