November 9, 200619 yr How is Boston on this list? I live in Boston and I don't think it's that great. There's a high crime rate and not to mention whats going on with the big dig and the tunnels. The cost of living in Massachusetts is high also. Now if you think about the stadiums we have for sports that would maybe justify Boston being on this list  . go patriots Gillette Stadium is in Foxborough, not Boston. But Boston DOES have Fenway, and the TD Banknorth Center. I guess the colleges/universities also make up for the crimes/horrible subway. You can't get much better than Harvard, MIT, BC, BU, Northeastern and some music school. And yeah, the Big Dig = Opposite of  . A waste of money, at least one person will die before it's "completed", and a cause of traffic. I'm one quarter surprised that Taipei isn't on there. Not that many people know about it, but there are very clean buildings (for the most part), a clean subway (for the most part) and clean buses/other modes of transportation (for the most part). The only bad thing about Taipei is the pollution, even though New York City has more. I'm also surprised that Honolulu is the number one American city. Then San Francisco. Until Boston comes along, it's all Western cities. (Okay, only 2...) Does that mean western USA is better than eastern? I guess it's a lot more crowded in the east, but still... Go Red Sox I think "good food" is overrated. 8-) It isn't dependent on any city, because in todays world, you can go to any major city and eat almost anything you can think about from squid crackers and sushi to american beef steak, fries, noodle soup, chinese chicken wok... So unless there are really awesome restaurants in a city (to my mind springs Tokyo which has really awesome restaurants), it shouldn't be used to rank the city. The other 3 you mentioned are very good criterias though.
November 10, 200619 yr <--- Hometown Vancouver baby 8-) \ 2010 Olympics. Beautiful attractions and building and peaceful. :-w What else can you ask for? More snow or sun and less rain? :| Well it's raining.. RSN: Zammyftw ^^The girl that ruined music.

Seafood, possibly the best in the World? And I forgot another thing, Great culture and Heritage. The Irish heritage of the town, there's just nothing like it. Almost every person in Boston you find is some percent Irish.

Oh boy. Nothing can compare to the Irish heritage in Boston? How about Ireland genius  :: Guess the Movie Contest Champion: pfilc23 ::
November 11, 200619 yr Oh yay, a discussion about Boston. Good Food? - Chowder and that's it. If you want lobster, head north to Gloucester. And Quincy isn't part of Boston. Good Music - Dropkick Murphy's (Tessie :P ) Good Streets - Bump. Bump. Bump. The older streets are cool, like the brick ones, but the new ones aren't so great. Famous Historic Areas - Indeed. Fenway, Beacon Hill, the Charles, etc. Although the best ones aren't in Boston, but Concord instead, Boston has some of it's own. Baltimore and San Francisco have better seafood by the way. And you must be kidding about the Irish part. Last time I checked you lived in Connecticut. How often do you make the 4 hours drive to Boston. Not very often, is it? I nearly live in Boston. In Dorchester, JP, and Roxbury (Southern Boston), almost everyone is African American. There's also some South American areas too. The only Irish bit is I forget where, I think Charlestown or something. And then there's Chinatown. How many Irish people do you expect there? Now...Is this list about the CITIES or the CITIES AND SUBURBS. There's a difference. If it's just cities, Boston's place as 36th is good. If it includes suburbs, it should be higher. Cenin pân nîd, istan pân nîd, dan nin ú-cenich, nin ú-istach.Ithil luin eria vi menel caran...Tîn dan delu.
