lavaownz
thanks for the information! But I forgot to mention diamond bolts which ignore armor. I have like 60 addy bolts, and 20 rune and im planning on using them in the caves so I am wondering what they would be best used with Rofl. My chair has a fridge, a cooler, a toilet, a shower, and a barbecue bulit in.Hey, I may have quite Runescape, but I just bought an XBOX 360 and play way to much COD4 with the Gamertag Lava Mage
13_19_16
Well, I have limited experience with diamond bolts, but from what I've seen the effect is pretty rare. Since the times that it does work don't increase the damage (as far as I am aware) and his defense is low enough that you can hit through it reasonably consistently anyways, you'll probably kill him quicker with the big hits from the other bolts. On the rune bolts, dragonstone would be nice, but onyx are good too. From what I hear they get their effect pretty often and hit fairly hard with it, and the HP you leech could keep you from needing to heal. Even if they don't hit as hard as the dragonstone, the removal of the distraction of having to heal could be worth it. If I can find any rune bolts I'll make a few and test them out. 13_19_16
Good luck lavaownz! And to everyone else, the information I said I would post will take a little longer than expected. I keep having to leave, and I'm discovering I've got an amazing talent at botching videos so they are taking longer than I expected. I still hope to have the information up fairly soon though. 13_19_16
Well, after a couple of tries I've got enough videos (I think) to show off some techniques to use, including me getting the fire cape \ . Once I edit them so that they aren't so long (I'm a slow typer except if I'm going at it constantly) I'll post the tips I was talking about. For now, though, I have to head off to bed, so check back in a few hours (and yes, I know I've had to say that a lot; don't worry, it will eventually be true). bedman
Tried it yesterday, and died at a 360. I was luring a 90, the 360 wasn't supposed to att me :shame: Anyway, that doesnt really matter. What DOES matter is the update of today: Over time, if your stats have been reduced or raised, most of them restore slowly back towards their default levels. However, if you opened an interface such as one of the skill guides or a shop, your stats used to stop restoring until you closed it again. We've now fixed it so that your stats will restore normally even if you have an interface open. Does this mean you cant hide with protect from mage and a skill guide interface (so you pray doesnt drain) anymore at the beginning of a wave. I've used this alot... I'm not trying the caves now :-k A Guide to Chinning in Ape atoll: up to 325kxp/h!
Matto_Matt
I'm a level 67 pure and I'd like to try fight caves (second try) , my ranged is 90 and prayer 44. On the picture with the pure equipment there are only 2 sara brews. Will 18 super restores be enough, or will I have to take less sara brews? I think I'll have a lot of "emergencies". I'm not trying the caves now As thekiller308 has pointed out, this update has not changed how you can use an interface to keep your prayer from draining. What it did change is that while you are doing so your stat boosts will still wear down. Now you will need to be as quick as possible while luring to keep from wasting your range potions, something we didn't have to worry about before. muggiwhplar
Monsters in the caves all move diagonally now. Prayer still doesn't drain with an interface (though stats do). Pures cannot get a fire cape anymore. 180s are hard to kill via safespots. Sigh.
Retribarration
Really? Last sathurday they weren't really hard, the 90+90+360 wave was more a problem... I'm Matto_Matt, I logged in on another computer.

I died at Jad though, I wasn't used to potting and pray switching at the same time... More luck next time, I guess.
Lunar_Drifter
I think the new update would make Prayer-Switching on Jad a lot easier. I have what I would say are average sized hand for someone my height (6'5"), and I can stretch my pinky to the escape key and my index finger on the F5 key easily with no strain. That should make it easy to switch between inventory and Prayer. Either that or keep one finger on the F2 Key for your stats to keep a check on your Health and all that stuff, and another finger on F5 for prayer; then switch to the escape key whenever you need it. lavaownz
The new game upgrade is great for Jad, but did anyone else notice a slow down is prayer-reaction time? (I just logged from caves) when I am fighting the 90s, I use range prayer and they still somtimes hit me, and I change a little after I heare the sound. So either there is lag, or no matter how far they are from you, they will always do damage if you pray after a certin point Rofl. I think I'm going to give up for now as this change makes getting to jad quite a bit harder and with my laggy pc it's just not worth it (Just lagged out after managing to get a 180 stuck behind a 360). -------Currently looking for someone to make me a signature.. pm here or in game! lavaownz
this kinda stinks, luring doesnt work anymore, and its really hard to do 180 waves  Rofl. justcallmedaddy
Isn't 3k bolt racks for the gutan method a bit of overkill? I thought 2-2.5k would work.
SwordKing
I got it today. I GOT THE FIRE CAPE :ohnoes: :ohnoes: . I'm so freaking out right here. I couldn't have done it without your guide! Thank you! It became a lot harder but it's still possible, I did it using the ranger method. 5 Attempts, got to Jad twice, second time was bingo! Thanks again, I'm so happy \ \ Edit: I'm 65 prayer with 83 ranged, I killed Jad without range pots because I took mage pots, by accident :wall: . Aneron
Does this mean that we can expect an update to the guide? :-w I'm waiting until the next update to see if they make it so monsters quit moving diagonally (doubtful) Well maybe they'll do it just for the caves... doubt it though, as this update does seem to hurt pures quite a bit. Also, if using a rune crossbow, would you recommend using ava's accumulator instead of a god/trimmed 99 cloak? Finally, does one bolt type (/enchanted subtype) shine far, far above the others? I was just wondering, as otherwise I'll probably just use plain mithril ones :P

What I would do is equip plain mithril bolts and put the enchanted ones in my inventory, so I don't waste them on monsters that you can kill quickly enough without them.
