November 14, 200619 yr I think what botanreaper was trying to say (or at least what I hope he was saying) is that it would seperate out the inactive players from the active players. My problem with that is just because someone retires doesn't invalidate there records. Lance Armstrong hold the world record for most consecutive wins in the Tour de France but should that record be thrown out just because he's retired from bicycle racing? Of course not, it still an achievement. Same with the records from RS players that no longer play. Now an idea I have seen done is a graduation date system. This is where you can look up the standings on everyone that entered the same day you did and see where you rank in that class (you could also toggle week month and year). The only thing that would have to be worked out is how do you handle the difference between F2P and P2P or even if you would distiguish between the two. But a graduation system would let people know how they stand with others that came to the game at about the same time and still doesnt' take away from the accomplishments of those that have played the game for many years prior. Reset the game, I wouldn't like it, I've found that people of the same level tend to migrate to the same spots anyways so there is a sence of community. Besides not everyone in a real community have the same experience or money so why should this be any different.
November 14, 200619 yr that would be great i would love to see zezima going about lvl 3 saying selling log 1gp
November 14, 200619 yr Background: Back when the RS2 Beta was released, members had plenty of (temporary) fun testing the new engine while also enjoying a clean slate- everyone started with the exact same stats and items. No rares, no high leveled players, just everyone on an even playing field. What? When RS2 beta was released everyone had the same levels there as they did in the main game, along with the same items. I even pked wearing rares. :-k Oh and newer players should be glad they didn't come into the game earlier. Because if they had they'd have had to work about 10x harder for EVERYTHING They didn't transfer all items immediately. That was in the later phases of the beta.
November 14, 200619 yr i already did..lol Quit runescape on Jan 6th of 2008, at level of 115 with around 150M worth of item in bank...however stats still remainsWorld 59, the world i loved~ Now 95% dedicated to playing Microsoft flight simulator http://www.youtube.com/user/im1knightmy youtube channel with many FSX videos i made. please leave a comment if you will
November 14, 200619 yr This would be great except they should restart the ladder every year, and they should make the lvls less exp. Having the lvl 99 still be 13m exp, I don't think this would be that great considering how much time people have to put into this game only to get deleted after the year ends. If they did this, it should be available to members only.
November 15, 200619 yr It wouls be a very foolish buisness move on Jagex's part. One of the things that draws people to rs is the sense of permanence. In a game where you have to work so hard to achieve anything, the security of knowing that all your accomplishements will be set in stone means a lot. What would happen when the second draft of rs got old? Would you propose another and another? It would be very, very unfair to throw out the millions of hours of time and effort put into rs by its many players.

It would be a separate set of servers and characters, you don't lose your original account.

Well you asked for this to be considered hypothetically, it seems obvious that doing so includes assuming it is feasible? Because it would dilute the player pool. By creating a new game, you take away the advantage players who worked hard have over those who didn't.
November 15, 200619 yr Author 1) If it's being considered hypothetically, you assume that it is feasible and don't say anything as blatantly obvious as "it won't work" 2) you're blathering on and on about advantages as if runescape was a competitive game.
November 15, 200619 yr They could run a version alongside runescape, like an arcade version ,where you lvl quick like 6 x the xp per action Runescape Classic Runscape 2 Runescape Arcade :) Quit Runescape 10 jan 2007 - Playing again 2012
November 15, 200619 yr how would waisting another 2+ years of my life be fun If you think you "waisted" the last two year's playing runescape, then why still play it? Good idea, me and a few otf my friend's have recently not drop traded all our item's to new character's and started again, its so fun re-doing all those skill's. November 15, 200619 yr I would not like the reset. The discretion between people in the high scores would be cool. I am kinda stingy and would proably stop playing if that happened.I am the kind of guy who does not have five pures. Three storage accounts and a Main. I just have a main, i don't like redoing stuff.
November 16, 200619 yr how would waisting another 2+ years of my life be fun Right to the point! Then both of you - don't play it. Proper Daily blogging including Starcraft 2! Includes goal for 80+ all stats
November 19, 200619 yr Allright, Ill put this as simply as I can. Primarily, Runescape is nothing more than a game, something played for enjoyment. You benefit in no way physically. Your eyes get destroyed, your back gets malaligned. Your carpals start hurting. You start sleeping less, playing more, your grades start slipping. All this because of a game. People over-obsess over this game, your rank in the highscores has nothing to do with what kind of person you are. If you want to be "the best" lower your expectations for a moment and try to be unique. Be a skiller, do things you like as opposed to every skill in an effort to try to beat zezima, somehow... My wise words: The scenario of "erasing stats" would only be possible with an RS3 RS3, if you were allowed to move your items and stats over, would be pointless... But if everyone got to start from lvl 3 again, with very little moving around in the economy, merchanting would be gone for good, as well as the ability to purchase 99 in a skill. It sounds nice and all, but starting all over again would be a headache. Id rather play on the account I love and treasure
