rocketman089
It was less about using outdated psychology than basically saying you should chill out. If basketball is too simpleton for you, so be it. To each their own I didn't say that. What I was saying is that if he doesn't want to play basketball, but his parents still want him to play a sport, he should try something that suits his particular needs more. He did imply that he would like to be able to make friends within a team and all that. Perhaps I should start reading the whole conversation first :) Gamertag: King Arizona

Youaretheman
Take up skateboarding. Skaters get more chicks than basketball players ANYDAY. :P Bad advice.. If he takes up skateboarding he's just a poser. And it seems to me jocks get more girls than skaters since skaters tend to fall into the who emo scene. (No, we're not starting an emo bashing session here.). Most preppy girls are hot, it's harder to find an emo girl that's hot. If he wants to go skater, I'll support him just so long as he isn't just becoming a poser. Though he'd better not become emo all of a sudden. Sorry it was more of a joke tbh. I hate posers. But everyone is a poser when you start out. You gotta wait a little bit to not get called a poser so yeah. But anyway, preppy chicks do go for skaters..I mean come on, ask my brother I'm not emo. Sure some girls go for jocks over skaters, but you can ask my brother I have my fair hold of girls who think I'm "hot" and no I'm not trying to boast. (Well maybe a little  ) but anyway I'm just trying to give him an idea. I love skateboarding, and getting girls on top of that just makes me love it more. Youaretheman
Ohhh ok now this is "you americans." Nice stereotyping? I'm in highschool buddy, you could say I'm not considered as a "man" yet, so why are you saying that? Obviously this kid who doesn't want to play basketball isn't one either. Gotta love stereotypers. Can I ask where you live?

KnightLite
Well I'd love to say I know how you feel, but I played 4 years of 4 sports for my highschool, and played many other non-school leagues of other sports as well. I love sports, and I've seen many types of teamates, including the ones that don't want to be there. It's like a little leaguer that is signed up by his mom, when he'd much rather be home playing Runescape or something. If you can't quit, then you have to stick with it. The more you make yourself hate it, the worse your experience will be. Just stick it out until the end of the year, andtry to enjoy it. You never know, you might enjoy it :P How tall are you out of curiosity? jackattack
If im not mistaken, that post was a "Freudian display of testerone" too :? I don't see the Freudian connotations. Care to point them out? um id rather play a sport that reqiures skill then swing a a stick around. and shooting isnt a sport it is an activity. When you can hit a 12cm wide target at 500m, you can talk about requiring skill. When you can parry two attacks half a second apart while retreating and be able to switch to a lunging riposte within another half a second, you can talk about skill. I played football and basketball before taking up a foil and ep̮̩̉̉e. They have nothing on the skill and sheer speed of fencing. no whats skill is knocking down game winning free throws when your teammates are counting on you or hitting a three or taking it baseline for a reverse layup.swinging a sword around or pointing a gun is stupid. xc is more of a sport than fencing. fencing=lame My carbon footprint is bigger than yours...and you know what they say about big feet. These are the times that try mens souls...

Yeah I get that, and my point still stands. There will always be girls who go for a different group, I mean they go for looks and stuff like just if you're a skater you wont get chicks but just having the looks + doing that also is a help. I kinda contridicted myself lol, I'm confused atm. Bare with meh.

What's your point? I need a whole 9.5g worth of .308 to put you down. Hell, I've seen a safely tipped fencing foil open up someone's arm up to the elbow. It doesn't even have a triangular cross-section like an ep̮̩̉̉e or a sabre. You're in no position to argue since you clearly haven't done either sport. darkforaster
My mom forced me back in it and I absolutely cannot stand it. I have no friends on that team. I do everything wrong. The games are sooo long... I've lost all interest in playing, period. But I can't quit, noooo. :( My family thinks it's just a waste of talent. And if I do end up quitting, I'll just regret it all. I don't have much to do afterschool anyway, but basketball isn't exactly what I want to do.. :? Anyone else ever been forced into a sport? yes, usually rugby in PE. But i am starting to get the hang of it. But how can you not like basketball! it is one of the best sports ever! I am not good at it myself, but i do enjoy to play it. Lumbridge and it's past.
