Kebabs, Kebabs, and . . . Kebabs

I have already submitted this to Tip.It's website, so you may see this on the actual site sometime in the future.

I decided to find out the various effects of kebabs and how often they appear. I bought 100 kebabs for 1 gp each from the vendor in Al Kharid and substituted them for my regular lobsters or swordfish while killing lesser demons. I doubt that kebabs have different effects for different levels, but just to throw in that possibility, my character (67 attack, 72 strength, 68 defense, 69 hits) experienced the following effects:

1) The Amazing Kebab: +23 health, +2 attack, strength, and defense, four times (or 4% of the time).

2) The Good Kebab: +15 health, thirty-one times (or 31% of the time).

3) The Average Kebab: +7 health, fifty-five times (or 55% of the time).

4) The Empty Kebab: +0 health, five times (or 5% of the time).

5) The Bit Dodgy Kebab: -3 health, three times (or 3% of the time).

6) The Very Dodgy Kebab: -4 health, -3 attack, strength, and defense, two times (or 2% of the time).

I was careful to note which kebab eaten gave what effect, so I am certain these numbers are accurate. I could have gone further as to do 200 or 500 kebabs, but I feel I would be generating the same results. I might carry this out to 1000 kebabs and get some decimals in those results, but I would hit diminishing returns by even going up to 200. To give an educated estimate as to the occurance of each one, the average kebabs are about half of them, the good ones are a third, and the rest fall into the last sixth, with the harmful kebabs appearing least often.

My conclusion: If you are F2P or P2P and low on cash and just want some cheap food to train with, use kebabs. True, the effects are varying, but it is safe to assume that more than 90% of your kebabs will heal you a good deal or at least not hurt you.

I'm sure Tip.It won't add something on how much kebabs affect you

But I didn't know that kebabs had different affects of you :anxious:

there are "good" kebabs?!

Kiss me, i'm part Irish!

Thats an interesting sorta guide, it might come in handy in my f2p combat training. Also i would like to see the numbers after 1000 kebabs, but maybe ill havta do that myself lol, considering its just for my interests sake. (unless of cource you feel inclined to do it yourself  )

How much kebaps heal depends on your hitpoints level.

As example: when you just made a new character with 10HP you get healed like 2 - 4 for the normal kebap and like 6 for the good one.

These numbers aren't quite accurate, just my estimation.

I just want to point out that the healing of kebaps depends on your hitpoints level.

The next point would be to find out the percentage of what they heal or at what level they heal more/less.

But good job so far. :)

According to another site:

Dodgy: 5% loss of HP, -3 to A/S/D stats

Normal: heals 10% (of max) HP

Good: heals 20%, + stat bonus (2/3/2)

Seems the scale has been widened, with the "Amazing" and "Very dodgy".

To compare with those, Trout (fast fly fishing) heals 7 for certain.

Since Kebabs heal or damage a percentage, they DO have different effects for different levels - with only 30 HP, an "average" Kebab would only heal 3, the same as cooked meat that could be prepered from roadkill in chicken, giant rat or cow areas.

Thanks for all of your input.

Yes, I wasn't sure or not if kebabs affected you on basis of your levels or not, so I threw in that possibility. I guess this wasn't meant to be an actual quide, just some realistic information on kebabs that a lot of people did not know.

By the way, the names I got for each kebab came from the descriptions you get when you eat them. The percentage healing makes sense, so I will add that (with credits, of course) after I test it with one of my lower level characters to prove it.

That makes them almost usefull for traning, except for the fact that you have to buy one at a time -.-

Lamest attempt at a lure ever.
No, Ive seen "selling easter egg 5m must be level 78 77 or 76 and meet at varrock bar unarmed.

Yep, I've found them great for Slayer tasks, incredibly cheap but incredibly effective- except for the pain in the butt that is buying them. So, it looks like I'm sticking to lobbies for now.

I'll stick to monkfish. Heal 16 everytime.

Also xevocm8velexx lose the fake stat sig.

Do spicy kebabs too.

When the red hot spice first came out, you could ruin a perfectly good Ugthanki kebab (heals 19) by applying red hot spice to hit, dropping the healing down to +5 or even to a negative if it was dodgy.

The worst kebab effect used to be -5 or -9. And the good kebab effects at that time were consistent values, not dependent on the player's levels.

Would be good to see your stats (att/str/def/hp and combat) and get someone else to post, just to ensure that at least the HP values are same for all players and not stat dependent.

it's a lot easier to get over yourself when you look at intelligence the same way you look at beauty, or height, or eye color: being smart is easy, but being good is hard ... being smart is handed to you, being good is handed to *nobody*.

I guess Kebab is a random event itself. Har har har. Good stuff. 8-)

I love kebab! I always use it when im training.

You can get a full inventory in maximum 2 minutes and they cost 1gp each!

Its definitely dependent on your level. I've had a really invigorating kebab heal 26+ (healed me 26 to my max hp of 84).
