Anybody play normal games?

Ah I remember when my family all used to sit down and play Monopoly or Cluedo, old favourites. I also liked one called "The Game Of Life" and played it a lot with my friends.

I like boardgames now and again, but my mum never takes them seriously and my dad's always anxious to be doing something else.

Every monday night is game night at the bar of my student society. While we mostly play Magic: the Gathering in multiplayer formats like Emperor and Two-Headed Giant, we also have a small collection of card and boardgames. Since a lot of people don't have class on tuesday, we often stay up playing for as long as the bartender on the night shift allows us to stay. We once played The Great Dalmuti until 5am before we were kicked out :)

I love card and board games.

My family has this set of Red Sox World Series monopoly, and I am the pwnage at it. :P It's the same as regular monopoly, but with Red Sox players as properties...My sister, her friend and I had a week long game of it, and I was killing them.

Speed Scrabble, a version of regular scrabble is fun as well. I don't feel like explaining Speed Scrabble now, but I might later.

Hold 'Em is fun, we played it all the time at school last year.

I've loved Uno since I was in first grade, what's to stop me from loving it now?

The only problem is, my family tends to be busy. My sister is usually doing homework, 'm playing RuneScape, my dad's off on his business trip or something and my mm is watching her DVDs. So I rarely get to play these games with my family... :(

I LOVE Monopoly and Risk. Almost every time my friends and I hang out, usually on weekends, we like to get in a good game of Monopoly. Our longest one was probably about 4 hours and we started at like 1am. Not a good idea =s.

We actually have a game called Anti-monopoly, which is a lot like normal monopoly except that you win by exposing corrupt land owners and corporations in stead of being one.

Yup i'd have to say Risk and Monopoly are my favourites mainly because I always win (joke). They are both really long games and really good when you get into them. However thats the trouble they take to long, saying that I once beat my brother, sister and grandma! at monopoly in under 2 hours, they all were bankrupt by then end. Shame, we don't play that as much anymore...

But yeh as others have said video games can never beat board games, completely different atmosphere when playing. Irony though, you can get both monopoly and risk for the PC :-w

i like to play games of trivia/general knowlege

and poker - texas holdem (not on the CPU, like actually with real people) . I rekon its a welcome alternative to the flood of CPU games out there.

Ahh, the good ol' board games. Me and my friends used to play monopoly with each other during the summer.

Some of the board games I enjoy playing is Monopoly, Life, Clue(havn't played that in years). I also like playing card games. I think I need to go buy Risk with all these people talking about it. I feel like an outcast because it seems like im the only person thats never played Risk.
