Most likely you wont want to do that though, you'll want it in the form of some fat, but also some muscle. That's a bit of a too broad topic to address in 1 post (since you want to add overall weight, i.e. 'bulk up', 'bulking', but you're a female so that's probably out of question, you'll know it when you become familiar with this term), try visiting http://www.bodybuilding.com which is the best bodybuilding forum. And depending on your age, if it's over 13-14 (younger than that and I wouldn't suggest this at all), you can consider effective bodybuilding which means you eat at least 2 grams of protein per 1lb of weight and make low reps with heavier weights. You have to eat lots of high protein foods, and if possible, have them low in bad fats. (example: eat lean chicken or fish, not a hamburger). Also, it's a common misconception that fat turns into muscle when working out. But people do have the right idea. You NEED some fat for every day processes obviously, but it's also good to have a little extra fat on the bones. This way, when your body needs energy, it will start taking energy from the fat, rather than if you have no fat, it would take away from you're muscle. And, work out. Don't eat chocolate and cakes and other very sugary foods to excess. Snack often, but with things like fruit and nuts. Don't overdo the sugars and fats, even if you don't gain weight with those they won't do your heart or arteries any good. And trust me, don't worry about your weight too much. As long as you're not anorexic, physically you're fine (and even then you're okay). And with my mod hat on, please don't type all your posts in anything but the default colour. LOL god I cracked up reading that. Uhm..Why do you want to gain weight? Aren't most girls like self cautious about their weight always? And want to get skinnier? I'm a guy. I want to gain a little weight (not much, becuase I DO skate so being thin is better for skating) but I've been working out a little bit. I'm just curious why you want to gain weight.
