lol, you can trust jagex :D

I think someone would have sued them already if they took 5000 instead of :P

Dont worry about that, theres so many players using credit card, that they really dont need to scam like that :P

And the pay by cash, look at the subscription part, there is all the info needed

Jagex doesn't steal money, if they did I don't think there would be 100,000+ paying members. And if they think something is wrong, there is a cancel subscription option.

Hmm, parents are always hard to make believe something when they dont =/

But when this thread grows with wiser anwers than mine, do let your parents read the replies, as they could help them to be sure they wont steal anything :D

Get your parents to check out this link... http://kbase.runescape.com/lang/en/aff/runescape/viewcategory.ws?ref=main&cat_id=884

It's got some information your parents might be interested in, and explains payment methods.

Pay by cash is sending money through the mail. You just put ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã5 or whatever the amount is into a stamped and addressed envelope and post it. This payment method can take quite some time, though.

It's hard to imagine a company with over $30 million in annual sales looking to ruin all that to rip off a few people.

Plus, if it's a fraudulent purchase, your parents can contest the charges with the credit card company.

But I'm pretty sure they know and realize all this, and are just using excuses to not get you membership.

The safest method if you are in UK (not sure about other countries) is Pay by Phone. You ring the number they give you when you go through the subscription bit, listen to a boring 3 minute description of RuneScape (brilliant for parents  ) and then will give you an 8 or so digit code which you then type into the website. Best to have a pen and paper ready. Then, when the code has been submitted, your membership should be done immediately, at peak times it could take up to half an hour. You only pay from the phone call and it lasts for one month, and there is no safer option.

Of course, Pay by SMS will do the same thing but will charge you for the text.

Moving to new account, subtle_rune. Please PM me there. Now you know that you can trust him!
