Sadly, this is NOT the fastest way to get gold ore.

There is a faster way.

And what might that be?

My secret, but trust me, there is a faster way ^_^

It involves the use of jewelery, I'll tell you that much.

Mmmmhmmm... sure. :?

If it "involves jewelry", my guess is skill necklace and crafting guild :-k

Which would be faster as far as banking is concerned, but the guild only has 7 gold spawns... and I'm too lazy to time both methods :-w

Noooo! You give it away! But this is faster. In crowded worlds, such as 2 or 18, gold respawns faster.

If I lost my whistle do I just have to talk to the guy in Mcrubbor's wood to regain it?

10/10 guide by the way.

If you threw away the magic whistle, here's how to get it back. Equip the dramen staff, head to any fairy ring and use it. You are now at the Zanaris fairy ring. Use the Zanaris fairy ring and put in "BEE-JAY-ARE". Now you're in the Fisher King realm. Head for the castle. There will be a magic whistle on a table in the very first room you enter.

i dunno if this has been mentioned before but wouldn't it be better to craft the gold bars into necklaces and then alch them?

I have not updated this guide since I posted it. There is a newer version on the RSOF, search for "Smithing Guide."
