Guide To Making desktop Shortcuts to runescape worlds

Featured Replies

Incredible! Thanks very very much! Finally I can get easy access to all the hard worlds to get in. Amazing!! =D>

Only problem: those links are only for high detail, I like to play in low detail on full worlds (because of lagg). Could you provide those links too?

If you would like a link to a world which is not on high detail, go to the runescape world select page and right click the world and go "properties" copy and paste the address into the notepad document.

So then you just click on the desktop shortcut and it opens the browser window, directed into the world you want it to be on?

Use this every day works beautifully thank you very much!!!

Mkay. The problem is I want those shortcuts for difficult accesible worlds (2, 6, etc.), which I want on low detail because of detail. If I want the properties, I'd have to be able to get in, which is the reason I need your guide. I think it'd be a nice addition to your guide, if you put also a list of low detail properties in it. (But that's just me.)

EDIT: I've already got some of the harder priorities for you:

http://ul8.runescape.com/l0,p0,j1 (world 2)

http://sl10.runescape.com/l0,p0,j1 (world 6)

http://above4.runescape.com/l0,p0,j1 (world 9)

http://jolt9.runescape.com/l0,p0,j1 (world 12)

http://nl1.runescape.com/l0,p0,j1 (world 22)

http://ul7.runescape.com/l0,p0,j1 (world 1)

http://sl1.runescape.com/l0,p0,j1 (world 3)

http://po4.runescape.com/l0,p0,j1 (world 4)

For as fas as I can see with these results, low detail and high detail have the same code, except high detail has a "0" on the end, where low has a "1".

When everything's been said and done, more has been said than done.

I did everything you said, but when I try to go to it, it always says, "404- Page Not Found" :? :wall: Help?

If you get the 404 error it means where you wrote the URL into notepad you did it incorrectly. Only replace the text, not the ' ' symbols.

picture6sd6.jpg

i did it the way you said and i'm still getting the 404 error, and there's no spaces after the url either. damn 5 year old computer... :wall:

My computer doesn't have Notepad anymore. Is there a way I can download this free without a virus or anything? Or is there another program that would work?

Thanks!

You also must not use any RuneScape-specific third party software which encourages breaking of our rules, or bypasses the normal navigation of our website, or automatically requests pages from our website, or which endangers user accounts.

Once again this is not software so i see, it slides on by

You Dont get it?

Even though this has been passed by Tip.it the rules state you have to navagate through the RuneScape website to get to the game applet. This Means that you have to go from the main page to the detail screen then the world select screen then you get to the game applet.

It's still not working for me, maybe I'll try again later.. Good guide, and thanks anyways.

*EDIT* Got it to work. *EDIT*

Yeah I've figured out the tiny difference between high and low detail.

World 2 as example:

http://ul8.runescape.com/l0,p0,j0 - High detail

http://ul8.runescape.com/l1,p0,j0 - Low detail

Only difference is the number next to the l in (l#,p0,j0). Or when it's spread out in words it'll say lowmem=0 (high) or lowmem=1 (low)..

Hope that helps some people if you didn't know it already.

grats guide, very helpful! =D>

this is legal (and sweet!) because you still can't get in the world untill it's not full

Thanks to Misterxman for the avatar.

runescape has a hidden address in the address bar for a reason, hot linking is against the rules.

As said before ...

rulezl7.png

If you still have a doubt, ask Jagex again and post a pic saying it's illegal.

But untill then: legal untill proven otherwise!

It never said if it was legal or illegal, just said that it doesn't break rule 7. I dont care if it is or not, I use it sometimes. There are sites that redirect that same hotlink, but those are illegal.

i've used this shortcut for many weeks now. Recently i'm recieving an error which fails to load. I've read that some people are experiancing similar issues. Has anyone been able to fix this probelm?

wow this works awesome! it works with other sites except like for your forum instead of saying Forum.Tip.It :: View topic..... it says RuneScape - the massive online adventure game by Jagex Ltd. LOL
