i've used this shortcut for many weeks now. Recently i'm recieving an error which fails to load. I've read that some people are experiancing similar issues. Has anyone been able to fix this probelm?

i have noticed something similar. when it loads there is a bubble a square that comes around that is similar to the *click to activate this control* thing. when i click it it turns white. but when i minimize and reopen it it goes bak to normal. Hope this answers ur question ^.^

Most likely causes:

 

You are not connected to the Internet. (wrong)

 

The website is encountering problems. (maybe)

 

There might be a typing error in the address. (did they change it?)

They changed the links, it is j1 at the end of each link instead of j0, additonally, it doesn't seem to work correctly anymore even with the good links. Idiotic Jagex, they focus on making our life harder, instead of getting rid of autoers/gold sellers/etc.

Jagex has updated the address for the worlds

 

i only got world 2 for low detail

Technically this is against rule 7.

 

 

 

The html document counts as a 3rd party application.

 

 

 

Here are some quotes from runescape.com for rule 7:

The html file does exactly this, goes straight to the world full or not.

 

 

 

 

 

You may be sitting there thinking "Hey, it's a html file... Not a program!" Well, that is very untrue indeed.

Software means any type of software, including: downloadable software (e.g an [Caution: Executable File] file), or web-based software (e.g a website set up to perform a similar function with flash, java, javascript or serverside scripts).

 

 

 

So your application does infringe on rule 7, if it didn't then a web-based world switcher i wrote before the rule 7 update would still be 100% legal today.

 

 

 

Edit: I know you're going to flame me over your response on the runescape PST about this not being against rule 7, so here is what i say - in the message sent to Jagex PST it does not say anywhere that it uses a html file to aid pointing the browser to the world page - which this does meaning that it is using 3rd party software!

First of all Rule 7. The proposed desktop shortcuts offer the user "an unfair advantage in the game" (quoted from rule 7). Therefore this post is "Encouraging Others to Break Rules" (rule 9). Furthermore, by using this method your are "Advert blocking".

Did you tell them that it uses 3rd party software to show the world? If you said the truth, they would have told you this was against the rules.
