More than 99 in a skill?

Featured Replies

i think it should stay at 99 but if you get say 200m xp you go to 100 at the skill then you cant go any futher

+99 in any skill would be useless in basically all skills besides maybe combat skills and maybe runecrafting for doubles of other runes like laws, deaths, bloods, and souls.

269 QP | All Stats 60+ (except Summoning) | Barrows Drops: 8 | Dragon Drops: 1

Its funny how things that once made it as stickies on official rs forums eventually vanish then everyone thinks your being 'ignorant' for remembering what they said, just because they didn't personally see it

Why would a 2 digit stat system go to 127 or 128?

The only number thth high is combat lvls whihc is a product of a maths sum based on multiple 2 digit stats

Plv6Dz6.jpg

Operation Gold Sparkles :: Chompy Kills ::  Full Profound :: Champions :: Barbarian Notes :: Champions Tackle Box :: MA Rewards

Dragonkin Journals :: Ports Stories :: Elder Chronicles :: Boss Slayer :: Penance King :: Kal'gerion Titles :: Gold Statue

I think 99 is far high enough and given time scales it'd take anyone (even if you no-lifed it) several years to get all stats to 99

Stats really don't have a bearing on max hits either.

Also a while back Andrew or one of the high mod explained that rs is coded on a 2 digit level system. To implement any higher levels would require recoding it all into a 3 digit system and there is no way to do that without wiping all the previous stats

unlesh the manualy setover all the lvls which they jsut dont feel like to do

I'd quit if they raised the caps past 99. :$

123 Combat / 1900 Skill Total / 99 HP / 7x 99 Stats

y do u get 99 then u can get the next lvl with 14. summet exp meaning u r now lvl 100

i think they should raise the cap to 100 and people would be 127 then

Level 100 of any skill doesn't help a whole lot. I can already drink a potion to 103 magic. Or eat an evil stew for over 100 fletching.

Actually, we should get more spells/abilities to make new high level items. For example a strong level 99 spell, or at level 99 fletching, you can craft a special kind of bow. I don't like all the spells ending at 96 (not to mention Ghorrock teleport, the 96 spell, isn't that useful). At 99 construction you can make magic cape racks. At 99 smithing you can make rune platebodies.

So I think in addition to our skillcapes, we should also unlock new abilities. Like at 99 cooking you can make gumbo or souflet (spelling?).

Oh and as a previous poster stated, Andrew said getting a skill into triple-digits would mean a stat wipe. That would be very bad, and so 99+ permanently isn't a good idea at all since you would lose all the hard work you did to get 99. Which is better? Stay at the current level 99 skill and just rank it higher, or get a stat wipe and start from 1 again? A stat wipe would make most of RuneScape quit, meaning the game crashes.

Alright listen up.

THE LEVELS AREN'T STORED AS DOUBLE DIGITS.

They are stored as XP. The XP just translates into digits. If JAGeX ever needed to change the system then how hard would it be to back-up everybody's xp and just upload that over the new script? I mean a good responsible game host makes back-ups of all servers regularly right?

It's been confirmed on official forums that it's fully possible to go beyond 99, and besides, many of us know that it will be implemented sooner or later. And with all the huge flow of new 99 pc products/guilded altar every day there will, eventually be a change. Either they lower/remove the exp/features or they go beyond the max.

By lowering/removing the features(?) will result in massive riot and whining, members quiting, Jagex losing cash. On the other hand by going beyond 99 and further will make the game more entertaining. New goals, new weapons, new abilites, stronger characters etc..

Ofc you cant satisfy all... but since jagex only cares about $$ its obvious the latter option wins.

(Although im against PC and IMO it should be removed, or its exp lowered).

In a way I'm against PC too because I hate it. But it's at least twice as fast as plain old training so that's how I train a lot of the time. When I get combat 126 I will no way consider myself a PC product though. I was level 99 when I got back from my year-long break and PC wasn't around when I played before. Anyways we're getting off topic here.

No need for 99+ skills. Imagine lvl 500 runecrafting?

Check the highscores...there are less than 500k people with 30 rc -.-

Yes, and there is only a handful of people over 100 with 99 runcrafting. Around 120 people, and you can imagine how hard it would be to get level 200. Hmmm, and that would also force Jagex to make a new maximum amount of experience. 400million? 500million?

mememe513.png

I don't think it's a good idea. More HP + more strength = 100+ hits on players with Dharoks (yes the max is currently 99 but if it was raised obviously you would have more than 100 HP). And, why would they do that when we have 99 capes? Personally I think 99 is hard enough to get, let alone level 120+ (that's like 105m somthing xp).

Level 200 is actually 287,416,243,706 xp. (yeah that's 287 billion).

Blue, I think if they were going to push levels over 99, they'd have waited on the achievement capes.

I agree, although i've said eventually.. that means sooner or later *most likely* the 99 CAP will be removed, allowing people go beyond 99 (or a system very similar to it). I mean .. Jagex dont even have to rework the digit system.. they could just keep it at 99, but your exp determines how harder you hit/how faster you mine/how faster you regain energy ETC..

Just my 2 cents.

By going beyond 99, doesnt mean there will be outrageous limits. Jagex could slowly increase the max level. Lets say 99-105. Keep it for some time and then continue expanding.

And everyone is happy.

ultrablue+02.png

Well okay what if they raised the cap on magic? The maximum damages are determined by the spell. So, it would be pointless as ice barrage always has a 30 max, and people say it's overpowered already.

The reason it isnt possible is because on the way it was written, its similar to the Y2K problem, they only used 2 characters for the date, except in this case they used that in the stats.

This is a confirmed fact by Andrew himself

The world would be a whole lot better if little green men in UFO's came down to earth to abduct rednecks.

When one reaches 99, it is states that the next lvl is 14,***,***

It might be good to rise it to lvl 100 and after which next lvl be ---------- instead of a new figure to look forward to again.

With an increase of just 1 extra lvl to lvl 100, jadex can test the member's reaction/response on it.

A 100% f2p who believe in hard work and not begging

Why would they release skill capes if they were going to put the cap higher than 99?

I do not believe the lvl cap will be raised anytime soon. I believe a good start would be to fill up the upper lvls of most skills first.

And anyway, I don't even think Jagex would have ever even imagined people reaching the exp cap in anything, I mean 200m exp is massive and it sounds to me like a random high number they set for a cap.
