Correct me if I am wrong but that is almost the same as a rune plate with alot better strength bonus.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Perhaps one of the reasons for all the untradeable stuff is an attempt to drain cash out of the game. Think about it. When was the last time you bought mystic from the mages guild? Never. After a sufficient supply gets into the game, players just buy from players.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Untradeable stops that. You only have 1 source of an item (barrows gloves from the chest, for example.) A pair of barrows gloves will ALWAYS be worth 130k, because you can only get them for that much. Nothing less.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

My opinion is that they're making all of these amazing items untradeable because a pure can just go and buy his/her way to amazing equipment. Now that is all fine and dandy, but you can only go so far with untradeable items, otherwise the whole game will be filled with pkers wearing untradeable items.

Wow..A combat requirement is very sad. Jagex for one will never do that because too many people will complain. Getting a Quest Cape at 75 combat is amazing and decent for the levels above. I got mine at 81 and currently pushing 89 combat and I would hate to wait a month to get the requirements only to have 5 more quests. A combat requirement would kill the cape.

i think thats a false statement. The people who are goign out are pking too, so if they feel miserable, they have no reason to. If yo u pk rceres, then thats a different story. Anyway, it is nice to see some more high lvl content in the game.. \

Go to world 18 edge. Nobody there runecrafting. What you used as an example is a bad one.

Actually, I rc'ed like 1k nats there once. Didn't even get attacked. \ Only people over on that side are like level 30 range pures.

yep.... and quite high levels too, if they don't pay attention, was on my way back over the bridges when i found a death pile, didn't know who it was that died, so i kept it :s rune boots + rune axe +rune pick =D

On topic though those trolls are beasts. Even the level 74's, they hit pretty Consistent 8's and 9's even with my best armor!

I hate this update, yet another item to add to the long list of awesome equipment which is untradeable. I understand why Jagex does it because they don't want pures who have more money to be able to buy there way through levels, But come on.... fighter torso +4(or 5) strength and amazing defence and a new helm better then zerker both of which are untradeable. Might as well make untradeable potions food weapon and then just have it when you die you keep everything.

Even if they weren't rip-off prices, people would still buy from other players. If the general store buy's for more and sells for less, then, basically the prices of things would just go down. This would not change anything except make everything in the game cheaper...

The trolls still hit pretty hard on 93 Defence and pretty often too, yaks are just as disappointing as experiments and P/C.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

For major mining/smithing, just go Keldagrim, plenty of gold, and blast furnace is about 1/3rd quicker.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Mithril only takes 20Def. to wear and wield, nothing special, you'd still get torn apart pretty much.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Also, you'd get pretty much bored if you're fletching/alching there as that place is pretty much the furthest place from major teleports.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

With the Royal Frem. helm being tradeable and droppable now, it takes a while to get it, whereas a Berserker helm can easily just be bought from another player in any major bank.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

A high-level update should be like Mage Arena or Barbarian assault on steroids at least.

These islands offer a lot of cool things. I just finished the quest, and I could stay at those two islands for a long time. Great addition in my oppinion.
