February 12, 200719 yr How much would it cost me to get 85 crafting in the best cost effective way? What is the most cost effective way? How long would it take me? I'm level 48 crafting
February 12, 200719 yr Honestly and truly I would stick with Cowhides the entire way. It's probably the cheapest method out there for the EXP you get from making Hard Leather Bodies. You get 35 EXP per hide, which cost about 100-150gp each. Yes, you're going to need a lot; and yes, it will cost you a bunch, but it's probably the most efficient way for F2P. Retired Member

February 13, 200719 yr Andu buy flax and spin it. you GAIN money that way, it takes a while but with the new fremenik isles having the spinning wheel soo close to the bank it wont be all that long. Once you are 57 start making green vambs, and then continue making the best dhide you can until you reach your desired level! Hope this helped Currently not active on RuneScape.
February 13, 200719 yr I recommend: Flax=bowstrings or cowhides= coifs. Flax is the cheapest, then cow hide. Make coifs from cowhides- then u sell the coifs to the general store. It's a money loser, but that's how crafting is. Once you can start doing dragonhides do that. ***************** I'm a lvl 91 in crafting, and I can tell you there is no "easy" way or cheap way unless you gather all your resources yourself. To level, I still use hides. If I can stand collecting seaweed or paying for molt glass, I sometimes do the battle staffs but there are only 5 per store, so its a ton of world hopping. Its always befuzling
February 13, 200719 yr right now i'm doing a combination of battle staves, to make money, and buying cow/dhides for fast exp. sometimes flax just to do something different. i have made lots and lots of staves, so if you have any questions feel free to ask. my name in game is cetchathach, crafting lvl 69
February 13, 200719 yr Combine everything that is out there. Crafting is easy to get up if you combine it with ranged, mining, smithing, thieving. Flax/leather: do these until you have gained a few more levels and a lot of new stuff will open up for you. Making glass with the lunar spell book is a fabulous, superfast method. First make vials (you could get an okay profit if you find a buyer), next go for uncharged orbs. I hear making battle staves off them is great xp as well. Dragonhide (preferably blue, once you can do that). The xp isn't as good, but it renders a lot of cash. You get a good range lvl from obtaining the hides and great cash from alching. Jewellery: mine lots of gold, smithe them into bars with the gauntlets for great smithing xp and then craft them into amulets. You could also thieve gems from the rogue's den to make even more advanced jewellery. Crafting is a very nice skill to level, if you make use of the variation...
February 13, 200719 yr Crafting is a very nice skill to level, if you make use of the variation... +1 And: you should set some more realistic goals. From 48 to 85 is insane! But since you go for it: There is no such thing as fast AND cheap xp. So make up your mind. good exp+ cash yet a time consumig: battle staffs from the level you can make them, lvl 61 I think. Make them from scratch for maximum exp in crafting and magic exp. cow hides/dragon hides are fast, but will cost you a penny. Combine with mining: gold+amulets or silver + tiara's good luck...
