Inapproiate signatures?

Is tip.it getting less strict on signatures and avators because i see about 20-30 with weed, alchohal, people giving the finger, and half naked women. People younger then 15 play this game and I dont think they should be exposed to this jagex doesnt allow it either.

If you see an innapropriate signature report the post an mention the sig in the form. thats what I do.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The admins cant keep their eyes on every single avatar/sig on the boards, its up to you to report the bad ones.

I can't be bothered about those sigs though. They'll get in touch with that stuff eventually. But I can imagine that TIF doesn't like it.

Being 'sheltered' doesn't exempt you from the facts of life in the real world. And why exempt 'beers and stuff'? It's alcohol too, regardless of how you look at it.

No we are not. The best way to handle it is for you to use the report function and it will be taken care of. Sometimes it may take a while to removed the inappropriate sig or avatar.

People also don't expect their kids to learn about sex, drugs and alchohol in a school either, but they do, a lot more than more parents will let themselves believe. Keeping it out of a game is stopping little pixels while the things they encounter with people from their own school can and does go well beyond just talk. If these things are such issues, effort should be put into the schools and real places it can have an effect, not a game.

It may be punishable to talk about in school, but it still goes on. Stopping talk about it does't change the fact kids still go out and get smashed each and every weekend. Even people that get MIP'ed at a busted party aren't deterred because everyone knows it disappears when you turn 18.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I guess the base of what I'm saying is everything that's currently done, doesn't really do anything to stop the problem. It puts a curtain over it. "Look! See! We told them not to talk about it! They won't go and get smashed this weekend!" Wrong. I know plenty of people that were 'model students' in high school in the eyes of the staff. Those same people would get so drunk each weekend they couldn't stand up. Stopping talk about it doesn't do anything.

It's the administrators that do that :wink: We moderators/administrators usually all know what's going on, so if your signature was removed, you could probably PM any administrator about it and they'd be able to tell you why it was inappropriate.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

As for the main question in the thread, we are not getting less strict on avatars/signatures. But as I'm sure everyone else has said, it's impossible for us moderators to catch every single bad image that's being posted on these forums (via avatar, signature or normal post). We need all the help we can get from you guys. So just report the person's post (any of them) and state that their avatar/signature is inappropriate and it should be taken care of.

I assume you people still got a 'bad sigs' sticky on the mod forum for leaving notes for admins? If so - any mod can answer such question. Actually, now that I think about it - that'd probably cover avatars aswell - although less often.
