Any mention of duping or price slump will make the prices slump, if a group of merchants managed to get the whole of w2 fally to know that in like an hour then the prices would crash, they would sell before hand and then buy back, pople do that in the stock market but is illegal :shame:

I think the approaching no holiday summer has a little to do with the fall. No one's in the spirit to wear their rares since it is not the holiday to wear the rare... Aka less demand and more supply.

Guth spears, werent they 4.7 before 07 and now they are 6.1?How you may ask? Well, it all has to do with dragon axes. Their price doulbed since their update, wich makes for more people to try to start dk. The more who dk, the more who die, and most dkers bring full guth to heal in. Bam lots of spears gone. More people trying to buy, but same amount of barrowers. Call me crazy but i think the loss of spears outnumber the amount comming into the game, making them shoot up in price. Soon the spears will level out, it will be around 7 mil im guessing. It all depends on the dragon axe market.

Rangers Sets will be reaching 10M Soon. I believe. Twenty Fourr, if you don't know who he is, is the richest person in RS. And he is buying up all the Rangers sets. I have heard that he as over 100 atm.

the fact is , when rares drop .. big time merchents buy up as many phats as possible , because we all know..

ON-TOPIC - the skill capes are effecting disc. items alot , i think..

 

 

 

because i know for a fact i sold off a few partyhats , and just invested in tons of skilling items - GO ME -

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

there are more fun things in runescape then just rares , people are realising that , and selling off there rares to enjoy the other aspects of the game , such as skills and pking , wont go into detail.

 

 

 

BUT! alot of high class players ( players with over\close to 1bill ) are getting PERM banned these days , not sure why...dont really care.

 

 

 

but , that might effect the price on disc items , in a good way ( for people who have them )

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

there is more to merchenting then just buying and item and hoping somebody else does work to raise the price , more thought is put into it.

 

 

 

just remember , if you can afford it.. i suggest everybody buy a disc. item , they are a great part of the game . always fun to show off , and enjoy them..

I'm still holding on to my believes that construction was the one thing that started this. It was the first real money sink in the game, and it did work as a charm. People that would usually have millions now had less millions. Besides rune and dragon armour (both priced very low) and no skill capes there were little things to use the millions on, now you could spend it on a house, or a monster for only 10million gp. The price of 1 gp just got higher, as gp per person ratio just changed.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Besides rares dropping for like one week, there dident seem that construction made any hard impact. But as i had predicted, the changes to a large economy that had been going on since january 2001 would not crash or dramatically change over night, (unless a dupe happend that is). But gradually it changed the gp value. People you see today with 4mil in bank and 60 construction would actually have more like 6mil in bank if the construction skill never got released.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

But jagex did not stop there, more quests with seemingly poitnless rewards compared to the time invested. A new skill hunter, that dont generate any money at all. What it does however, is using up your gaming time, so while you were bussy training hunting to level 80, and gaining 0 gp in the process , you would normally do mining, woodcutting, fighting, or other activites that would give you money.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Then we also have other minor impacts, as skill capes, and third age.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Everything added up, and you see a smaller market for the classic rares.

Also, I believe it was the Durial massacre that raised prices, not construction. (Remember, that massacre was only 9 days after the release, so most people don't attribute the rise of rares to Durial, but to construction.) I can prove this because, everyone said rares would rise when Hunter came out because they did when Construction came out. Rares rose no more then 100k by like 2 weeks after Hunter was realeased.
