Well I was wondering how people use Google in their every day lives? I have gone from using it as a search bar to using it as email. Now I'm using it as my picture and album program (picasa), and finally yesterday I moved on too Google desktop. I also use it as my instant messenger, its so simple! Google has truly made my life easier.

But seriously, I use Google to search for pictures and websites, I always use Google as a spell checker when Firefox fails me or it's a proper noun. I use Google email and my account to get around Websense at school so I can search Google Images without being blocked. :twisted:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

But MSN/Yahoo are my homepages. :o I enjoy opening my browser to news of some sort.

Ditto on the spell check thing, Firefox spell check is nice but it needs some tweaking.

google for defintions, help with hw, help with tech issues, health issues etc..

mostly as a spell checker or to find programs which I don't do much

Google for searching. Period. You can do so much things with the search and advanced search besides just typing in something and clicking search, like putting quotes "" around the search so it searches for that phrase and adding + before operators like 'and' so they are included. Plus you can use the cached page to see the page as it was when the Google cachebot indexed it.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I also use it for image searching, e-mail (I'm beginning to use G-Mail instead of Hotmail), the directory, translating, news searching, the sattelite stuff, Google Co-op, the code search, and the patent search.

Google Search for pretty much most of my papers haha.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Google News is pretty nice too. I like it because it loads much faster than other bloated news site.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

and of course Gmail. Anyone else who uses another free email provider is missing out. People still use Hotmail :uhh:

searching and Spell check which works wonders when I'm searching around Wikipedia like always.

The only thing I DONT use google for is when I need something from wikipedia. I do almost everything with Google, email, images, searching, tech problems you name it, and Ill google it.

Gmail allowed me to snatch a great email adress (you know, first initial last name @ small adress), I use it for all my searches, even like wikipedia stuff (since odds are wiki will be the first result anyways).

I did, the first result is my Digg profile, then some of my old TIF posts and some of my posts from the RS Official Forums, posts/profiles of other people using my username on random websites, and image filenames.

I use and abuse it. There are many, many commands such as inurl: and site: which most don't know about.

I use it for homework a lot. WHen i took math, half the time you can type in the math problem and find a website with same problem. But I use it to for just any other homework too.

Gmail, Google Translator (for my German Class - homework), Google Earth, Searches, Pictures, definitions (occasionally - generally use dictionary.com) and Occasionally the news on it as well. :)
