Turkish-
But if someone believed that God could do a miracle such as flood the Earth, it wouldn't be hard for someone to believe that God could perform a mircale, such as letting you survive and not having the Atmospheric Pressure crush your lungs. You can't argue using facts against a Faith-based believer. Unfortunately? I don't really understand how that's unfortunate. Why would you want to argue with someone who believes in a Faith or a Religion, does it bother you? The entire religion is based around Faith, not facts. Why would you try to argue? Are you blind or ignoring me on purpose? I mean, do you guys always do this? Shake off the dust... arise.
Abyssalwhip
Yes, god told this one person randomly to build a boat to put one of each animal on it so they can... DO ANY OF YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW BIG A BOAT WOULD HAVE TO BE TO HOLD TWO OF EACH ANIMAL?!?111!?SHIFTONE11!!?!?!!? Your name is "bet you fail", and you're starting a business with your mom? I'm not even going to touch that.....

Celt23
Celt, how are you going to ignore four posts from me like that? Because I'm not arguing against my side of the debate. I would be responding if you were on Defender's side though.

You're just going to say what you think and then not address anyone who might disagree with you? Cool. I'm not on any side of the argument, I was just wondering why/how you can justify that. Tigra00
The entire religion is based around Faith, not facts. Why would you try to argue? Because when you throw facts completely out the window, all it is is faith...And that's jsut made-up. Turkish-
Because when you throw facts completely out the window, all it is is faith...And that's jsut made-up. Made up to you, but not to other people. I have heard many phenomenal testimonies from Chrsitians, and if people gain satisfaction from it, why try to strip them of that? It's not really hurting you, or at least I don't think it is. Yes, it does hurt A LOT of people. Don't you get it? If events in the Bible are scientifically proven to be IMPOSSIBLE, it doesn't mean that God made all these things possible, it means that it's all just made up. You can say "Thats fine, but it's all about faith, not proof." and that's fine and dandy - until you realize that faith without ANY facts to back it up means that it's just FAKE. Do you believe in Santa, for example? Of course not. And why is that? Because it's just a story and there is no proof. You can have faith in Santa all you want, but people will think you're insane. Anyways, yes, it does hurt people. Gay people aren't allowed to marry because the Christian Right is so far into politicians pockets and voting system. There is no reason they can't be happy just like you and I. Marriage isn't a religious thing anymore even, it's a legal thing. Are you hinting that you are homo Tiagra and can't be happy because of christians? And i'm not "dodging" questions. Its your guys lack of perspective. Your trying to "prove" a miracle did not happen. Okay, lets say for example, lung pressure WOULD have killed Noah, so its not possible right? Well, hello? There is a God in place. Could God not protect Noah? Could God not cause water to flood the earth? If not, why is he called God then? He should be called Regular Joe if he doesn't have the power to do it. But he does, he can protect Noah, he can flood the earth, and he has. You cannot scientifically prove God does not exist because God can do anything. ~Defender~ If you love me, send me a PM. 8 - Love me2 - Hate me
Tigra00
I think I made it perfectly clear in that post that I'm not gay, idiot. You don't seem to get it...Yes, indeed, God can do anything. However, when there is no proof and you believe in it, it isn't faith, it's foolishness. Like I said, do you believe in Santa? The Easter Bunny? It's all the same thing. No proof, but they're said to exist by people. Tell me, why is it impossible to you people that God is just a campfire story? There have been literally like, a hundred God's over recorded history, and you people actually believe that yours is real and is "the" God...Even though he came AFTER about 20+ others. Muslim's are even worse...They believe in a story based off JESUS. They're like, double-blind. You people are just slaves. It's weird you'd accept that a being actually owns your soul and you have ZERO control over what happens to it. That's just disgusting. Defender2516
Lol Tiagra, of course you don't get it. The bible is more than just a "fairytale". You are saying God is controlling our lives? Yet here I stand with free will, and there you are without God, and your not the greatest person to be around yourself. We try to explain why we believe, but instead you only critize us, so why should I waste my time with you anymore? Tigra00
I thought I should apologize and correct myself... Muslim's are NOT double-blind, they are, infact, TRIPLE-BLIND, because Muhammed is based off Jesus, and Jesus is based off the Hindu Messiah...What's his name again? Starts with a K...Whatever is it. Marriage isn't a religious thing anymore even, it's a legal thing. I'm sorry, but when marriage was defined in the constitution as something between a man and a woman, I don't think that there was much of a 'Christian Right' involved. Don't you get it? I'm not sure as to what kind of facts you're looking for... You can't really prove over half of the things that are in your History Textbooks, but people eat those up as if they are nothing. Once again, I'm not taking a side on either position, just trying to understand the faults of both. Shake off the dust... arise.
____
@defender: What makes your religion any more plausable than Santa*? Since this is the foundation of every single argument you make - it better be good. @Turkish-: History books have physical evidence to backup the content. Whats your point? *do take in mind that Santa is derived off an actual person and events and has stories about them - but the actual being Santa Claus does not exist - so your Bible is in the same boat

Turkish-
@Turkish-: History books have physical evidence to backup the content. Whats your point? To an extent, half of the stories we read about are taken strictly from what people have said. We don't know that it's true, 100% fact, but we're taught like it is. Shake off the dust... arise.
