F2P Skillcape Situation - UPDATED

I think that F2Pers should be able to do the Emotes of the skillcapes without actually owning the cape itself. Since F2P doesn't pay, they'll get no cape - but they will get an Emote. The price of this will be 99K, and when you become P2P, if you bought an Emote as an F2Per, you get the corresponding skillcape.

Members can't even emote without skillcape...It kinda removes the point of the cape.

People have the skillcape for the amazing looks at times. Anyways, just showing off your skillcape is easier than doing the emote to prove that you have the 99. I'll edit so that P2Pers can also do the emote without the cape.

I know, but I fail to see the reasoning behind that anyway. Why did Jagex add it? Beats me.

You'd have to, however, consider the problem which would arise when someone with more than 1 skillcape attempted to perform the emote? Another annoying in-game menu?

Then if they had like 2 99s, would there be a selection menu to choose which emote to do?

It would make the capes useless unless for the skill boost.

The Emotes would be displayed in the Emote Menu. Skillcapes are basically going to become like trimmed armors (cosmetic) - just inexpensive.

Skillcapes can make some of the most awesome outfits. They're basically going to become like trimmed armors - just inexpensive.

Thanks for support Jenove. :)

Are you suggesting that Jagex should add an emote icon for all 24 skills to the emotes tab?

I'm glad somebody else saw that too... 20+ new emotes?

The emotes will only be there if you get the 99 & buy the emote. They won't all be there & darkened out like it is for unlocked emotes.

no support(please just give up on the idea, you dont even have to play it just get members for a month and never remove the cape, prob. solved)

:twss:

Besides, Skillcapes and Emotes should stay P2P - it's like a 'mark of importance' if you wear it/use the emote, but if t'were to become availiable in F2P; it will become really common :wall:

UNLESS

F2P could have a max of 2 skillcapes, that way it'd remain the 'Mark of Importance'.

...how? Anyone would just dump all of them except the two most impressive, and unless you're like maxed out that choice probably isn't hard to make.

Ex: If you had 99 smithing, magic, cook, fm, and rc, what type of idiot isn't going to keep the smithing and rc ones?

Nice idea - as you said something is better than nothing. I imagine all players with lv99 skills (including members) could appreciate the ability to purchase and use all emotes which they have earned without requiring the cape to be equipped.

if you worked so hard for that 99 is the cape a nice reward what are you with just an emote if the cape shows you to everyone i reached it the emote is not the most special thing it is the cape. but it will be maybe a good idea but not good enough i thinnk

I noticed you forgot the "E" in my user name on the support list. Just bringing it to your attention. ;)

But Glenny, F2Pers are more than happy to get SOMETHING. For us, even an Emote is more than enough, considering that we're not going to be selfish.

Also, NJE, maybe I meant to put no E? Muahaha - NO E FOR YOUR NAME!

(Okay fine, I'll add it. )

The F2P bit is good but scrap the half price P2P nonsense, capes are to be seen and to behold not to save money

Thanks for supporting on the F2P part. \'

But the P2P thing is that well..if F2Pers can have just the Emote and not the cape..why can't paying members? I frankly think that P2P definitely DESERVES to have the same benefits as non-paying F2Pers.

(Oh, and by the way - it'll still cost 99,999GP for a Cape & included Emote..)

i'm getting 99 cooking in F2P but i wouldn't buy only the emote.

it would be nice to get skillcapes to F2P. Or I'll try to get member when i reach 99 cook (what all people do)

It's not the same :|

Quest cape achieved on 7/11/2010.

You'd have to be some sort of masochist to want to be a forum moderator on the RSOF. They're honestly better off, imo.
