TremorBlade
hello fellow runescape players, don't you wish that halloween holiday item give aways came back to runescape? don't you miss getting those blue, red and green halloween masks? well why cant we have characters such as the bogey man, a zombie or even a mummy appear in each town during halloween to give out halloween holiday items? The characters would hand out 1 halloween item in each of the following towns: 1) Draynor 2) Rimmington 3) Varrock square 4) Falidor 5) Lumbridge Each of the characters that are dressed as the following monsters should give away 1 item to each player. once the player has visited rimmington for example they would have obtained one halloween item from there and they could not get a duplicate. The players would continue to find all five characters dressed up in each town. At the end of the halloween everyone would have 5 halloween items and no one would complain. In return a few of these towns would be recognized in runescape because the players travel some where different and it gives them a chance to discover new places they havent seen before. Also the halloween items could be sold to other players. ..... Well this is my idea for the halloween holiday item give away i hope you runescapers find my idea could be a solution to bring back other holiday item give aways such as christmas and easter. If you like my idea and would like to see this be put into the game: Sign your runescape usernames below if you think my idea is a good suggestion to improve the game i will personaly give this petition to the staff of tip forums so they may read this ingenius idea. I will also let jagex know about this current idea that I thought of. Artie_900
hello fellow runescape players, don't you wish that halloween holiday item give aways came back to runescape? don't you miss getting those blue, red and green halloween masks? No, no I don't. For one, if I wanted a mask I'd buy one. Secondly, if the holiday drops returned it would completely tank the rares market. well why cant we have characters such as the bogey man, a zombie or even a mummy appear in each town during halloween to give out halloween holiday items? You're misisng the entire point of rares, champ. There will never be any more of them, period. This is why they are rares. You can play the game without them. If you are really aching to get your hands on one, well, start working and saving up the gold.
Adam007
We do get holiday themed npc's giving out items. Santa and the Easter bunny to name two. I can't tell, but are you proposing that those Halloween guys give out the masks dropped years ago? I don't know why you would make a rant about that, but it's not going to happen. Shadd
Your title sparked my intrest, but then again, most topics entitled in all caps are garbage anyway. This isn't a serious matter that could help the game out.
khaydarin9
At the end of the halloween everyone would have 5 halloween items and no one would complain. Except for those people who say they don't have enough bank space. And the people who want rares taken out of the game. And the people who didn't log on that day and want to buy a rare. And the people who don't log on that day and want to buy a rare but don't have the money. And people who think that the economy is crap enough as it is ... yeah, sure, no one's going to complain. I would suggest for next time (if there is a next time) that you do a little reading on why holiday drops were made non-tradeable in the first place. There is a reason, and it's a solid, if complex, reason that you need to understand before making a suggestion like this.
Dyran
hello fellow runescape players, don't you wish that halloween holiday item give aways came back to runescape? don't you miss getting those blue, red and green halloween masks? Actually I couldn't care less if there was ever another useless item introduced into the game. They don't improve your stats, they are just dumb items that for some reason little kids seem to want because they think that they make the look "Cool". I would rather see them rain temporary items that give huge boosts to your stats or weapons that do much more damage for as long as you are logged in, and then they go away when you log out or lose connection. Then to make sure they leave the game they can always kick everybody off after the holiday is over.
caughtjoo
I say we get bags or pumpkins and we get to talk to npcs and get candy, that would rock.
Cydewinder
I dont know for sure, but it seems the original poster isnt aware of the scythe drops that were dropped the year after masks. Like bunny ears they were dropped on the ground, but you could only pick up one (and they can be reobtained in Varrock). Were the scythes last halloween? Either way, I wouldnt be surprised if we do see something on Halloween this year, since Jagex seems to have worked out a decent way to do it (NPCs in towns for a week before and after that give one item per player, non tradable). But as has been said, no future holiday items will be tradable. It does surprise me though when I pull out my scythe or bunny ears, on members, the amount of people who dont know what they are. Surely I'm not *that* old ;P
archimage_a
Its a shame they became money objects. A candy bag would be cool, give out candy to as many ppl as u could. Then you get a candy bag that you can use to get sweets of npcs. Sweets would heal 1 and you could get them all year round, the sweets are tradeable, the candy bags arnt and are reobtainable at any of the cape sellers. http://www.uzzisoft..../archimage.jpegWell I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

willyhenriksen
jagex has said that it will never be any more holyday drops because of the economy,so now they are sending npc's who give out untradeble items. R.I.P. Shiva and Steve
jessy87
i dont know if he knows their always going to be no trade or if hes relying on it to always be notrade items...so that they dont ruin the rare market i havent been playing runescape long enough to get any holiday item started in march just after april and was like aww no :( i lookin forward to halloween tho whether or not these items are no trade
anonymouse_
Well, reintroducing discontinued items such as masks would certainly ruin the rares market, Jagex would get swamped with complaints, and it would just never work out. However, I agree that there should be some decent untradable items, something better then a stupid chicken or a useless yo-yo. The reason they should be untradable is to prevent the amount of greed which was eminent in the last of the tradable holiday items. People saw what happened to phats and previous holiday items so they started hoarding huge amounts of masks, santas, eggs, etc, in order to make a profit in the future. This is the reason why Jagex stopped making them tradable. However, there should be some good items in the future; if not too useful, then at least decent looking. Not like the chicken, which is neither...
archimage_a
Candy bags!!!!!!!!! Or a herb basket. When houses come out you plant about 10 herb seeds in a basket and each day you get 10 new herbs, but you need to look after them, or they will die. Or you could always use it to grow non herblore herbs like doggle leaves and update cooking that way or something. (Would be placed inside your home.) Candy bags are easier though Sweets all year http://www.uzzisoft..../archimage.jpegWell I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts. Triplets_KGB
That̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâôs just insane. Can you imagine what will happen to the market? The entire economy will collapse, sending tsunamis and earthquakes through the entire community, destroying many of those hard workers free spirits.... Valkor
well i read about jagex's official declaration that there will be no more holiday drops. the last drop was the scythe for 2003. i miss out on these untradeable drops but then i learned to accept the truth and if i really want one, just save up millions and buy one. the toy horses is the april fools of 2004. just because you don't have the time to raise the money doesn't entitle you to get it cheaply. it will just lose its value and status symbol on RS. besides, it encourages f2pers to get members, fletch and get the money fast. jagex won't ruin their business, that's the way it will be and people like you must learn to accept the fact. please suggest something that is possible not something that will NEVER happen. SAGE
Ok, I could hold my anger till you said these will be able to be sold to other players. I am not gonna cuss and get myself in trouble but I will just say this, I HATE YOU
archimage_a
Its not impossible just highly improbable. Its a bad idea but if they release something like 'crowns' then people would try to hoard them. Or they would save them for a few years and then die with it or something stupid. The items just make people stressy and wind them up because they might lose http://www.uzzisoft..../archimage.jpegWell I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts. I am not gonna cuss and get myself in trouble but I will just say this, I HATE YOU Not really appropriate, regardless of how silly the idea is. On topic, it's a terrible idea to re-drop the rares :) I think rares are super lame, but they do keep other prices down. So, no. New, untradeable holiday items, fine. lpinkus
