A little about the guide: The guide is divided up into sections, if you have a slow internet connection you can turn off photos as everything in the photo is summarised below. (Although, its nice to be able to see the photos) To do this in IE, click tools > internet options > advanced > then under multimedia unclick show pictures then apply.

Introduction: Being rich in my opinon is a state of mind, its something you've got to be motivated to do or else you will quickly turn off. There is no point in earning GP just so you can say 'I have more than you have'. Keeping this in mind, before you read this guide its important for you to know why you want money. Prehaps it's because you want to level up skills the easy(ier) way, or prehaps its because you want a pretty (or ugly if its not purple) party hat. So, write down a goal, even post it here because I can tell you on those cold winter nights you'll need some motivation. Once you have a goal, break it down. Say your main goal is a purple party hat set small incremental milestones you can celebrate on the way. For example, 1million gp, 5million gp, 10million gp, 25million gp, 50million gp, 75million gp, Purple phat and most importantly celebrate at each step of way, it'll lift your spirits. Last by more importantly, if you can make money with friends do it, you can bounce back small talk which will help the time go quicker and quicker.

The guide itself: All pictures and final totals are based on 15 minutes of trialling. At the end I will also post the hourly totals (4 * the 15 minute totals) aswell as any xp received while doing this task. My starting back pack is always as follows:

startingbackpack0io.jpg

5,000,000gp in cash nothing else (You really won't need anything like 5,000,000 for most of these things, but i've just made that the amount so that the backpack stays the same)

Rune buying

I have included several locations here because sometimes differnt locations are more or less busy than others, also some stores sell differnt runes and have differnt profit margins. If I missed a rune location, let me know I will do my best to update it in this post in the near future. (Please use PM's to notify me of mistakes)

*Notes* This was actually alot better than expected, the servers were mostly full with chaos and deaths. Not sure if its always like this, but it was pretty decent cash. Spent about 400k for a 190k turn around which is about 50% profit.

*Tips* If things are slow they also sell basic runes here, it might be a good idea to purchase some minds for 5gp per and sell for 20gp per.

Port sarim rune store:

The port sarim rune store is located south of falador and west of draynor. My starting backpack can be seen above. This is what my back pack looked like after 15 minutes:

portsarimdone6aq.jpg

(4596k in cash, 1299 death runes, 1588 chaos runes)

This is what my back pack looked like after selling the runes:

portsarimcash5bm.jpg

(5,193,029 in cash)

Thats a profit of 193,029 for 15 minutes work. Which equals 772,116 per hour (add an extra 5 minutes or so to sell the runes).

Spent about 400k for a 190k turn around which is about 50% profit.

Void knight rune store:

This store is located on the void knight island, you can get here by going to port sarim and catching a boat. The ferry ride is free. I started with the standard back pack shown above.

This is what my back pack looked like after buying runes for 15 minutes:

voidknight6kl.jpg

(4401k gp, 1705 death runes, 2450 chaos runes)

This is what my back pack looked like after selling the runes:

voidknight0zi.jpg

(5,280,000gp) Thats a profit of 280,000gp per 15 minutes, which equals 1,120,000 profit per hour.

Tanning

Tanning hides requires finding somebody who needs hides tanned. People pay between 100gp and 200gp per hide tanned. Once you have found somebody you will either need pre-tanned hides (you could have normal hides and then tan them also) or you will need to give them some type of collateral to make sure you don't run off with their dragon hide. Then go to al kahid bank withdraw your untanned hides and tan them!

Here is my inventory before tanning:

(5000k, 675 untanned hides)

Here is my inventory after tanning for 15 minutes:

tannedhides3tf.jpg

(4986k gp, 675 tanned hides)

Here is my inventory after swapping the tanned hides for untanned hides plus 150gp per hide. (This is the amount that I pay people to tan hides for me, below is a list of people who pay tanners and their prices, to be added to this list send me a personal message.)

tanend6cu.jpg

(5,087,750 gp, 675 untanned hides) This is 87,750 gp profit per 15 minutes which equals 351,000 profit per hour. This is less than alot of the other methods mentioned here, but to that i'd say two things. The first is that I am 28 agility and I was talking during this test, most people can do 3,000 hides + per hour, which is obivously more money. The second is that this is constant gp, it doesn't matter how many other people are doing it. Oh and I have a third point, its 150,000 per hour for F2P which is pretty good.

List of tanners and what they pay:

Chewy_shoe 150gp per dragon hide

Chewy_shoe 75gp per cowhide (F2Pers welcome)

(Your name here) (Price you pay per hide) (Send me a PM for your name to be in this list)

On a side note, I have a few more ways of making decent money but they require a sponsor or trader. (I.e, tanning hides) I haven't posted these because I am fairly certain they belong in the market section. If you can convince the admin staff that they belong here (or they actually belong here), let me know. Otherwise I will make one big post and put it in the market place and hopefully I will be allowed to post the link here. I'll update it once I get a respond. (Feel free to PM me if you can answer these questions with any type of authority, i.e mods admin).

Change the title when it is complete so we can enjoy it. Feel free to post the entire guide here since I have heard that you are one of the get-rich-quick fellows and I am sure that we would all like to join you lol. This should be moved only if it is strictly f2p (in my opinion.)

PM me in game to use some skills of mine (glories/potions) free or to ask a question.

I am doing all the trials on P2P servers, so I am not sure how applicable this would be for F2P servers. For example, rune buying is almost impossible on F2P, I guess I could post some F2P figures too.

*Update* Ok, I just finished doing two rune stalls. Void knight and and port sarim, void knight was 280k profit for 15 minutes and port sarim was about 190k. Both are pretty decent pay rates if you ask me, I will skip the next few rune stalls (for now) because I am pretty sure you guys get the idea. For some reason its just over looked.

Next up is either arrow tip buying or hide tanning. I am doing all the things which require no skills first so they are accessible to everybody.

cough up chewy what about your smithing business?

I think the admins would consider that advertising and would yell at me, but feel free to pester them into allowing me to do it.

Basically what he is talking about is I pay people to smith/smelt certain things for me (You save time not worrying about buying ores and bars etc)

Aww, at first I thought you meant something different with the bold part. More like "you're as rich as feel you are" or "being rich isn't about having a lot of money"

It looks like it's going to be a great guide and I heard you are pretty succesfull at making money. Even though I hardly ever go out to 'make money' I'm looking forward to see more of your methods for when I get back to some serious slaying and will need Guthans and cannonballs. Making money through skills is currently breaking even for me with other skills so I'm allways looking out for good techniques to do for a short time and then get back to skilling :D

Do best friends of das1330 get free stuff? ;)

I think ill try your methods Chewy however ill bring a LOWER amount of cash, say 500k and turn that into profit

About how much do you spend at the rune stores before you decide to pack up and sell, and also do you buy all the runes of that type or do you stay at a certain stock (ie if the shop has 50 runes do you never go below 25?) Something like that.

Haha, you are as pretty as you think you are. But being rich really isn't about having alot of money, everything in this world is relative and if you are content with 10k gp, then who am I to tell you that you should be sad?

Not for any of the guides posted at the moment, don't worry i'll let you know about that stuff if its important.

And the longer you can stay and buy runes the better, it means you are spending less time selling runes and its generally easier to sell in bulk. So if you are going to do it, i'd suggest taking as much as you have/can spare to be without for a few hours.

Also, I am doing the tanning at the moment, if you want to come and tan some hides with me (I can give you some to tan and pay you) come server 111 al kahid and keep me company :). (This is what I was talking about when I said doing things with friends is more fun, I don't have any friends so be my friend plz)

Any way that pays a lot should be mentioned in the guide regardless whether it helps you personally or not. If your tip consisted of "I buy ash 10k each" then it is still a very good money maker. The problem arises only if your whole thread is about you and your personal business. I also doubt that you are the only person who pays for certain things to be smithed so it applies elsewhere as well. Great guide so far, I can't wait to see the Mage Guild's cash per hour.

The problem with rune buying/selling is IMO that the more people know about it, the less effective it gets for everyone. It would be great ofc if the servers always had full rune shops, but if this gains popularity, they wont have.

Nice guide anyway, hope to see some more.
