greenslime89
I went to Loch Lomond last weekend but found myself taking more photos of the boats and running water nearby rather than panoramics of the loch  but I'm pleased with the results. Enjoy! Playing about with my red filter - I think it looks a wee bit like lava - but it's not great but I thought I'd post it. As always, use these for manipulations but tell me and show me the results. Photos!

irulepoker
This happens a lot with your photos, you get some really, really good shots (the black and white tree for example), and some are just so so. I love that black and white tree though, that's a really good shot. I also take photos on vacations and such, and I pretty much specialize in taking automotive involving shots, for example, I love to take pictures of classic cars that are parked. I just do that best. Overall, great job, as usual. My Farewell thread. Please post nicely, or die. :^_^:Yea, I'd vote for him too. But I don't think they let Iraqis vote :P

greenslime89
Here's the story for why it's been so long since I posted some photos here: My camera has a very limited range of apetures and I need slower shutter speeds. The slower the shutter speed, the brighter the image will be. But I use shutter speeds going into seconds which burns the whole image to white, even with my smallest apeture (smallest hole for the light to get through) the image get's over exposed if I use a shutter speed of about 1 second to 1/2 second. So I thought "I'll get a ND Filter" which lets less light through - like having a smaller apeture. So I go to my local camera shop - get the adapter ring - as my camera is SLR-style but I can't put any lenses on it without an adapter - that cost me ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã30 but I thought that it would be worth it once I got the ND Filter... I then said, "Have you got any ND filters with a 55mm thread?" They didn't - they recommended I got a UV filter - to protect my lens, a polariser filter to make the blues deeper and nicer and a red filter to make the clouds stand out more. I walked out of the shop with my goods having spent ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã70 of my birthday money. "Right I have about ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã40 left..." I like my macro photos so I ordered a close up filter from them - ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã15... "̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã25 left I'll get my ND filter of the web" So I go onto a website I was told were very good with filters... So I type in 55mm ND filter, saw one, ordered it was delivered the next day. I check my cash card balance... ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã20 has been taken off... That's strange, I check the website ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã5 delivery charge! It's a brittish website based in England - why does it cost ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã5 for a stamp and a parcel box? So I screw the filter into my camera and I go to the local park to walk the dogs with my tripod. Fall over, get covered in mud, keep going 'till I get a few good shots and then go home. *sigh* "ND Filter - ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã105. A story like that - priceless" Here are the photos I took that day: Ffeel free to manipulate any of the above images, but make sure you give me a mention and send me a link when you're done as I want to see the results. The comments on these photos are as follows: wowzuh! those are teh hawtzors, specally the one with the water. Very nice photos! I especially like the ones with water as the dominant feature. Kinda makes me wish I had an SLR rather than an automatic. I could use a tripod as well... Hell, at least give me some decent scenery to take photos of here... Love them, GREAT job :) I think you could use some more dramatic lighting, and maybe some more depth here and there. I'm only critical because I took a photography class. Otherwise, good job! \ water doesnt look real, but scotland ftw? :o I enjoyed the water shots, but everything else was....bland. I enjoyed the water shots, but everything else was....bland. In what way were they bland? Uninteresting subjects, or I am unable to determine the actual subject of the picture. Nothing too interesting about a mushroom, or trees, or leaves. You see those everyday. Suggestion: Dynamic perspectives. Ie from a weird angle. Nice shots, One day Im gonna be like you when I grow up! (or... I just get some money..) Wow they're really atmospheric! My favourite's the second. :) wow! Your an amazing photographer! Theses pics are stunning =P~ . I myself like art (i study it at school). My fave's of the photos are either the 7th or 10th Photos!
Munpie
As an aspiring graphics designer I try to get all the experience I can in Adobe photoshop. I played upon the Idea that the picture with the red filter looked like lava and came up with this... I didn't do anything too fancy or excentric; simple use of sponge, blur, and, smudge tool. Thanks for the experience :

runemetsa
IMO that "lava" looks bit too fluid to be lava. Maybe more blurring? With new picture set, I love those water ones. They look like ghastly haze flowing over the nature.
