Most annoying loading screen?

Featured Replies

I've recently been getting pretty angry with loading screens cause they're just so damn annoying, and there's so many of them. I was wondering, in your opinion, where is the most annoying loading screen in the game?

Personally, I say the one right in the direct center of the Grand Exchange, man do I ever love that one! :wall: The ones near Castle Wars stepping stones in the game itself are also on par with that. Love when enemies get away because you can't properly fight going through a loading screen. I can't even remember how many flag runners have gotten away because I couldn't stun/freeze them.

What are these loading screens you're speaking about?

Or are you talking about the Loading Please Wait - 100% thing that appears on the corner of the window?

^ Pointless post.

Anyways, on topic: The loading screens are really quick on a fast computer. However, I used to play Runescape on a slower computer and the loading screens used to annoy the heck out of me because it took a good 1-2 seconds to load, which really takes you out of the mood of playing the game. That being said, Jagex has done a superb job in streaming such a big world through a browser as seamlessly as possible, so they can't change much to be honest. :P

My most hated one was the Grand Exchange one as well ^__^

Yep, those are what I'm talking about.

They barely take half a second to complete the loading; why the whining?

I hate it when I'm standing somewhere, and I see my minimap unloaded. So I have to walk there to load it.

Yes! And my monitor is wide enough to see farther than the minimap, so sometimes there are gray spaces on the screen. Very annoying.

OT: It doesn't really happen to me any more. I suggest getting a new computer if it really bothers you that much, or switching to SD.

Doesn't matter. They are still annoying and affect gameplay. Like in Castle Wars if you have something like dagannoth spike shot (for stun) right clicked on someone, but you go past a loading screen, it messes it up and they get away.

The one that really sticks out in my mind is the castle wars one. Hate that.

I remember D claw rushers using the load that usually comes up a little bit north of the entrance to GE. They claw people there and because of the loading screen, the victim sometimes don't have the chance to eat/pray.

The one in Fist of Guthix.

I sometimes wonder why they actually put loading screens in minigames...

erm...

I've been playing for 4 years and have never seen a loading screen. Just a once in a lifetime black box in the corner of the screen like the connection lost one.

The only one that really annoys me is the one that you get at the Grand Exchange area.

You can log out any time you like, but you can never leave.

even on a three year old machine loading screens are far and rew between, even when they occur they are very quick.

TBH any loading screen is very annoying, means I can't get on with I want to do.

Any and all, really. They [bleep] up pulled up right-click screens and make me lose my target; since I rely on being able to track one person who's close to death and then being able to click 'attack' on a right-click pulled up screen, if I run through a loading screen and lose the second target I have to search for them again and that wastes time.

But yeah, mostly that Castle Wars one.

Balance may be power, but chaos is still pretty damn fun.
