  1. I have a GMC Canyon. It's a company truck so it's not raised or anything. I'm just going to keep it for a few years until I can get a used Sierra. I do a fair amount of offroading. OP: That's a beastly truck.
  2. It doesn't matter if we were wrong going in. Do you think Iran or Al Qaida will say that if we leave and not take over Iraq? The committee assignments don't mean anything. Every senator is on committee's. A flip flop is when you change your position for political gain. And the spending cuts are especially good when Alaska has a surplus. She was looking to the future. Since oil production is going down they will probably be facing deficits soon. We do need oil, in the short term and long term. And you think that even though the polar bear population is growing they should be on the endangered species list?

Getting an abortion is more dangerous than giving birth. http://www.physiciansforlife.org/content/view/1516/26/ It's not a case of it being dangerous. And just because a baby will be adopted it is preferable to kill it? Don't you have any adopted friends? I have a two, and I'm sure they would prefer the life they have to being killed. And I guess the guy above me too. And I don't see how you think a baby isn't alive until it can feel. Is a fish alive?

Wait so you are saying that just because the mother doesn't want to go through childbirth is an acceptable reason to kill the baby? And that killing the baby is preferable to adoption because that needs money from the government?

I don't think the danger of the mother dying qualifies as a legit reason that abortion should be legal. the maternal death rate is probably barely over 10 in a 100,000. Most abortions are done simply for convenience. 40,000,000 since Roe v. Wade. Not to mention that planned parenthood is a eugenics based organization. They actually let you choose what race of baby to kill when you donate money. That might be why every week more black babies are killed than the KKK has ever killed. It's a genocide.
  6. Why do people keep saying rich people won't make it in the real world? It's exactly the opposite. Rich kids probably go to private schools, have nice computers, tutors and other stuff. Not to mention probably smart parents who most likely aren't going to let them fail out of school.

Just because it can't feel pain doesn't mean it isn't alive. And no one has to take a baby if they don't want it. Ever heard of adoption? Under that mindset we should go to Africa and exterminate all babies there because they will have a bad life. And most mainstream Christian Churches think that their whole life if from God. why the fudge does she care! it's not her baby she needs to get her head out of the 18th century and join us normal people in the 21st century Wait so to normal people in the 21st century it is acceptable to not care about babies being slaughtered?
  8. Why is McCain exxon John? Did he vote for tax cuts for oil companies? Oh no wait...that was Obama. And Obama made up some things in his speech too. [hide=] [/hide] I've already said this but...The 2005 energy bill was the one that was written by Cheney and gave tax cuts to oil companies, The Iraq war deescalation act would have ensured we lost, the committee assignments aren't meaningful by themselves, and he hasn't held one major hearing on the committee he chairs. It's not a flip flop if there is a valid reason for changing your opinion. Building the bridge was a popular thing in that area. Obama's flip flops are (mostly) done only to help him politically as opposed to doing what is best. She supported increasing American supplies of energy. We need both oil and natural gas which she supported. The budget cuts took nearly a quarter billion from the budget. http://www.alaskajournal.com/stories/07 ... 8005.shtml She stood up to the secretary of the interior by suing the federal government over putting polar bears as endangered species. The population of 25,000 is up from around 5,000 in the 1970's.

I only brought up Obama's coke use because some other guy said McCain was a trouble maker and if McCain had done anything like that, never mind graduating towards the bottom of his class, he would have been expelled. And saying the war is a task from God isn't really anything. It may be to you if you're not religious but to most religious people everything is a task from God. And outlawing abortion isn't forcing your views on anyone it's simply stopping people from enforcing death on the baby.

The Naval Academy has pretty high standards. I doubt it was much. I know one of the worst things he did was sneak a T.V. into his room. Compare that with Obama who's misbehaving in school included snorting coke.
  11. ^^ Don't know what you're talking about. I'm just going to assume you're being willingfully ignorant to the countless things I've posted that Obama has done worth noting. I cannot argue with a skipping record player. She cleaned house of corrupt republicans? Meaning...? Source? Palin actually supported the bridge to nowhere: [hide=Flip flopping]Palin initially expressed support for the bridge and ran on a "build-the-bridge" platform, arguing that it was essential for local prosperity.[77] After the bridge became a political issue Congress replaced the earmark for the bridge with an infrastructure grant to Alaska to use at its discretion; Palin's subsequent policy was to continue construction on the road originally intended to link to the bridge while exploring less-expensive transportation between Ketchikan and Gravina Island.[78][79][80][/hide] "Palin has strongly promoted oil and natural gas resource development in Alaska, including in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR), where such development has been the subject of a national debate." -This is NOT helping us get clean energy. This is doing the exact opposite. "Stood up to Bush's secretary of the interior?" What did she do? No explanation provided for that one. Vetoed almost a quarter billion dollars in spending? Funny, remember this?: "In June 2007, Palin signed into law a $6.6 billion operating budgetthe largest in Alaska's history.[71] At the same time, she used her veto power to make the second-largest cuts of the construction budget in state history. The $237 million in cuts represented over 300 local projects, and reduced the construction budget to nearly $1.6 billion.[72]" Finally, some comic relief (although I find it quite appalling): [hide=Palin hates Polar Bears]On January 5, 2008, the New York Times published an op-ed by Palin, presenting her view that the polar bear should not be placed on the endangered species list.[66] In May 2008, Palin objected to the decision of Dirk Kempthorne, the Republican United States Secretary of the Interior, to list polar bears federally as an endangered species, saying this move was premature and was not the appropriate management tool for their welfare; the State of Alaska filed a lawsuit to stop the listing amid fears that it would hurt oil and gas development in the bears' habitat off Alaska's northern and northwestern coasts.[67][/hide] Do you actually read what you are posting? You didn't post countless things. You posted seven things. All but one or two of them are meaningless or are bad for Obama. Gov. Palin cleaned house by firing people previous Governor had appointed(which you actually quoted), and launching ethics investigations into the Republican attorney general and chair of the state GOP which led to both their resignations. Palin did originally support the bridge but in the end she didn't use the congressional earmark to build it. Last time I checked natural gas was a fairly clean energy compared to oil. And for the last two...I mean...honestly...READ WHAT YOU QUOTED :wall: It says in there that she vetoed $237 million in spending. And the way she stood up to the Secretary of the Interior you also quoted. #-o She filed a lawsuit against the federal government to stop it. This seems like a good move when the polar bear population has quintupled in the last 30 or so years.
  12. Still waiting for you to provide any evidence to the contrary... How is this not a good thing?: -Obama held assignments on the Senate Committees for Foreign Relations, Environment and Public Works and Veterans' Affairs through December 2006. All of those things I listed a couple posts ago show that he doesn't just sit on his butt and actually does his job, and he does it effectivly. Palin still runs 670,000 people. Ready to lead 300 Million plus? She's done nothing extraordinary in Alaska, why trust her to America's future? Every senator is on committee's. He hasn't done anything worthwhile with being on them. Palin has actually done stuff. She cleaned house of corrupt Republicans, stopped building the bridge to Ketchikan, passed an increase on oil companies(while Obama did the opposite), gave every Alaskan $1200 for energy relief, started the Alaska natural gas pipeline, stood up to the Bush administration's secretary of the interior, and vetoed almost a quarter of a billion dollars of spending.

Yes but now they have immunity to do whatever they want. I didn't realize that if you tack your name on something it becomes yours, and proves that you did everything in it. "I know not what weapons WW3 will be fought with, but ww4 will be fought with sticks and stones." -Dusty668 Wow, I'm a genius amirite? Yet the Naval Academy is a school. School is about education. Grades are a reflection on your commitment to educate yourself. They don't have immunity to do whatever they want. They have retroactive immunity from frivolous lawsuits for providing the NSA, CIA, or whoever with information they were asked for. And the rankings at the Naval Academy aren't only based on grades. John McCain wasn't very well behaved there, hence his ranking.

^^ The telecom companies did their duty as they were asked. Why should they be penalized for doing it? No it doesn't. McCain had a website in 2000. http://www.4president.us/websites/2000/ ... ebsite.htm And The Naval Academy isn't a regular school. It isn't all about grades. Evidence? No? I'm a member of the Students for Sensible Drug Policy, but I don't put my name on ANYTHING for fear of jobs getting a hold of it when they look me up. I think the voter registration records speak for themselves. And I guess this counts. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YAzv7Be6iqQ

That was a one time guest speaker so I would hardly say her church believe that. However the central tenets of Obama's church of 20 years are... They've released the voter registration records. She's been a registered Republican since 1982. I really don't know where you are going with this. http://www.alaskajournal.com/stories/09 ... 2005.shtml http://www.motherjones.com/mojoblog/arc ... ction.html And I find it hard to think that as a Republican Governor she addressed the aip convention but not the convention of her own party.

    Sarah Palin

Voting for the telecom immunity isn't really caving to pressure, it's just doing what's right. McCain may be regarded by one of the more brash senators but he's not regarded as ignorant. Especially when Joe Biden wanted John Kerry to pick him for his vp. He knows how to use a computer. Back in 2000 he only won New Hampshire with help from his website. And graduating from the Naval Academy at all is still very impressive. Man, Huckabee's speech was probably better than Lieberman or Thompson. That desk story was really something. =D>

It was a rhetorical question. He would probably not even have been a state senator. Would the south side of Chicago elect a white guy to the Illinois state senate? Even if he managed to get elected to the senate would John Kerry have selected him to deliver the keynote address in 2004?
  19. Mitt Romney tried to do this when he was the Governor of Massachusetts. Romney '12!

It doesn't seem that strange to me that a *sitting Governor* of a state would welcome the convention or whatever it was of a prominent political party of that state. :wall: And to everyone who's saying she was only picked because she was a woman, would Obama be the nominee right now if he was not black?
  22. jackattack

    Sarah Palin

Who cares if Obama is loved by foreigners? And we should drill in Anwr. There isn't really any reason not to. And she is the commander in chief of the Alaska national guard. What they were talking about earlier is national missile defense stuff. She stood up to her party by endorsing a state senator against a longtime Congressman Don Young and challenged Ted Stevens to come clean about his whole thing. Obama voted for the 2005 energy bill written by Vice President Cheney which included tax breaks for oil companies. McCain voted against it for that reason. edit: not only that but she pushed for ethics investigations that lead to the resignation of 2 prominent Republicans. I think it was the attorney general and the Chairman of the state Republican party.

    Sarah Palin

Why don't we put up some accomplishments... Palin can say she stood up to the establishment and took on her own party...Obama can say what?(He can make up stuff about some ethics bill) She can say she passed a tax increase on oil companies...Barack can say he voted for Cheney's energy bill with tax breaks for oil companies Palin can say she commanded the Alaska national guard...Obama can say he proposed legislation to ensure we lost the war Palin can say she went to the middle east to visit the troops she commanded...Obama can say he did after being forced by McCain and then went on to skip meeting injured troops in Germany because he couldn't bring cameras Palin can say she has long supported expanding American energy...Obama can say he opposed it until it became clear almost 3/4 of Americans supported it

Woops, I meant the first two. Religious leaders already can and do endorse candidates. And opposing abortions isn't as bad as Obama who supports letting a baby who survives an abortion and is born alive be left to die. Just because any extremist groups support her doesn't reflect on her. Hamas supports Obama, does that mean anything?
