If I could beg your pardon for a small favor...please no more links to the daily kos. edit:or the huffington post for that matter. At least she's keeping it and marrying the father. Better than killing it. At least they're not hypocrites. Edit: and that is a far cry from Obama who would probably force his daughter to have an abortion so she isn't "punished with a baby"

    Your offended by under God?
  3. What an incredibly ignorant thing to say. I often have a beer (note: one) just for the taste and refreshment. It's an acquired taste. Still tastes bad to me though. I still have soda with lunch and stuff. Well I'm going to be the first to tell you that your "bio teacher" was full of it. I've had 3 close friends have alcohol poisoning. It's not something to laugh about or just let it roll off the cuff. It happens, and it happens because kids are stupid. Personally, I could be more prone to alcohol poisoning because I do not throw up as easily as others, and due to my size (6'4" 220), I do not feel the affects of alcohol as soon as a smaller person may. I can take in more alcohol than an average person, but not feel as drunk. I've been drinking for a couple years now and I have never thrown up from drinking. I have put down 3/4 or a 1.75 of Captain Morgan in a night, and didn't throw up. I'm not trying to brag here, just trying to say that alcohol affects different people in different ways. It's quite easy to get alcohol poisoning. That only happens if you drink hella in a short time. My friend did that once. He got alcohol poisoning. If you space it out you will throw up before getting alcohol poisoning.

He is now a Southern Baptist. That's still Christianity, and I can't really see where his anti-abortion stance comes from except his religious views. And what about Obama and religion? He attended a mudrassa when he was younger. I went to a school where over three quarters of the students were Muslims. Am I a Muslim because of it? No. Obama doesn't let his religion control his politics either. That's the difference between McCain and Obama when it comes to religion, and that's why McCain is a bigot. I wasn't talking about McCain. And I didn't mean obama's muslim school. Not even Rush limaugh and hannity talk about that, only really fringe people. I meant his 20 years with Jeremiah Wright as his preacher at trinity church, which teaches black liberation theology. Even if we believe him when he says he was never there when Wright said that white people created aids to kill black people, or call America the "United States of kkka", or said that FDR knew about Pearl Harbor and let it happen, who said "Hillary clinton ain't never been called a n...er", who said "God damn America". The best case scenario is that Obama flat out lied to America and is actually an atheist who joined that church simply for political gain in order to be elected to the Illinois state senate and while he was there he sat in the pews with a portable radio listening to football games. But he says he is a very committed christian and I'm inclined to believe him. He might say that he never was there when wright said the most controversial things but I find it hard to believe that he never talked to other parishioners who said "did you hear the sermon last week?" Especially when wright says these things and the people in the pews are cheering enthusiastically. Even if he didn't know wright said any of that stuff, which wright says he did and was just distancing himself from him for political reasons but I'm not that inclined to believe wright, he still heard black liberation theology preached every Sunday. That is almost worse. That theology is a marxist theology of victimization which basically says that if God is not on the side of black people and wants to destroy white people then black people need to kill God. And just because McCain is a baptist means he's a bigot? and @ duqsi the polar bear population has at least doubled in the last 50 years.
  5. ^^ I don't know what school you went to. At mine my bio teacher basically told us we could drink as much as we want and we wouldn't get alcohol poisoning because we would throw up before we died. Then like two weeks later she told us what is really happening when you pass out. :ohnoes: It's not like it would make any difference at all. Maybe less people would be given tickets or whatever citation they give you for uderage possesion of alcohol.

    Taxation

I'm not sure if the un has done another one since 2006. I know the economists intelligence unit's one ranked us 13, the uk was 29, France and Germany were either 24 or 25th.

    Taxation

Actually Americans have a higher quality of life than most european countries. The last time the U.N. ranked us we were 8th. The uk was 18, Germany was 20th or 21st. Only Norway, Iceland, Ireland and Sweden were ahead of us. And around two thirds of the budget go to medicare and social security. I honestly thought the exact same thing. It might be from standing on boxes preaching on streetcorners.

^^ He has. He was in Colombia when the hostage rescue happened. If Obama was there they would have said that he not only planned it but flew the helicopter. If you're talking about the Medicare bill from July, 2008: They weren't able to vote on the bill because Republicans voted against taking it to vote. Instead, the Senate debated endlessly (filibuster) until they finally adjourned to go home for the next week. They passed the same bill the week after the vacation, only to have to vetoed by George Bush (and then overrode the veto). I'm pretty sure that he meant the American energy act. Which Nancy Pelosi wouldn't even bring to a vote. Some of the Republicans have been at the house chamber since they took the break. Nancy Pelosi shut the lights off on them. They've been there the whole time with no cameras or microphones.
  9. Yes Comrade! I have urgent news from the western front. Barack Obama is well on his way to the Presidency. Soon the proletariat will rise!
  10. I don't like the commercial but I think they should make it. I think how the 9 and 11 on the back add up to 20. They could take Jackson and put him on the 10 and get rid of Hamilton. I like Hamilton but I like this more.

^^ He was a 'christian' and you might not want to bring up religion in the same sentence as Obama. And I don't think being in the army makes you a bigot. I totally pray you are kidding. But what about Hope? And Change?

(You could argue Obama doesn't really have any merit either, nor has he held any executive position, but his election would send a clear signal to other countries USA is still free and anyone can become the president) What message? That anyone with money can become President? Obama is not an average Joe. He may only have one house, but that one house is worth just as much as McCain's. He wears Armani suits and Rolex watches. He has made stupid political discussions. Sounds like just about every other President. Except he's black. If that negates the fact that he's a millionaire, then I have lost hope in Martin Luther King's quest for racial equality. NoMoreDead: Before you copy and paste, learn to read and understand politics. The committee assignments are bullcrap that look good on paper, and those are a handful of votes that mostly came before his Presidential bid. Take a look at Obama's voting record compared to McCain's or Clinton's. They voted in nearly all sessions while Obama missed more than half *during* his campaign. Don't forget his Party which instead of voting on a major bill, took a long vacation and shut down Congress. As for approval ratings, they are a little skewed in his case of being a celebrity on the political scene. Instead you should look at those who don't approve of him. Palin's rating of people who think she is doing a bad job is minimal, nearly 3 percent, with 17 percent having no opinion. Well I think technically you did say he's not a member of any major committee. He's on the armed services, foreign relations, health labor and education, and homeland security. He left the EPW. That is a pretty impressive list of committees. The thing is that he has done nothing. And he's been criticized because he has not held one major hearing on the european affairs committee he chairs. A little to much time campaigning. And @no more dead, you might not want to bring up the Iraq war deescalation act. That perfectly shows Obama's lack of judgment. While McCain was advocating the surge Obama did the opposite and his bill would have guaranteed defeat. Right now the war would be lost. Or the vote for the 2005 energy act which was the act that gave the oil companies tax breaks which is all Obama can talk about. Well I think neither is qualified. That is only one of the criteria though. [hide=] I'd doubt you not knowing what impeachment means, but impeachment is bringing criminal or civil charges formally against a President. Can't exactly do that to ol' Bushy, unless looking stupid is illegal. His approval rating isn't so low for no reason or dumb 'Bushism's... It's because a lot of people do think he's done illegal things. Iraq war 'expenses'.. Other than the salaries of soldiers.. What expenses are we talking about? All the reconstruction, weapons, ammunition companies, aircraft companies like Sikorsky.. Are all american. Every time he asks for more war funding, he's really giving money to his fellow cronies especially in the arms industry. From the treasury of taxpayers.. At the expense of american lives in Iraq (plus unnecessary civilian deaths). Wouldn't mind either Obama or McCain to succeed him. Just as long as he's gone. [/hide] If you count a lot of people as dennis kucinich, shiela jackson lee, barney frank, and ron paul. And think about what you are saying. That the President actually started a war just so the people at lockheed or kbr or wherever can make money. He probably has never met most of the owners of any of those companies but their his 'cronies' so he started the Iraq war just to give them money? That sounds pretty silly. Say it out loud and if you still think it's true call up code pink and get a skeleton mask and sit in the audience at hearings. And Ginger, I don't think you really understand the who Obama really is. He is the only hope for us. He will completely heal all racial inequality. He is THE ONE.

Nice bunch of articles from the huffington post. Alaska is the largest state in the union. There's not a decent chance. He's in very good health. And it's not as scary as Obama. I just feel bad for Joe Lieberman. Unless McCain wins and makes him secretary of state he's screwed. And I heard she knew that her youngest son would have down syndrome and had him anyways. Good to see that she's not a hypocrite. And in a world where 9 in 10 children with down syndrome are exterminated that says something about her.
  14. Lol, you know what's funny? People [cabbage] on Palin for lack of experience when she has more executive experience than Obama Obama was in the senate for something like less than 150 days before he decided to run for president. And I'd put executive experience as governor of the largest state in the union at 3 or 4 to one compared to legislative. I still would have prefered Romney but she's all right. I still think it's a shame that McCain didn't rescue Lieberman from being in purgatory next year in the senate. Once the democrats have their majority he gonna be thrown completely under the bus. Shame really. He's one of the few democrats still in the tradition of JFK. I also loved how after his speech Obama played the music from remember the titans and McCain played the music from Rudy when he announced Palin. And I loved watching Keith Olbermann and Mathews get into it on air.
  15. I don't think North Korea is anymore. If they still are then they are on the way out.
  16. You didn't know that the pope controlled JFK?
  17. I'm pretty sure Andrew Mellon was exhonerated. He knew from firsthand experience that when taxes are too high people avoid paying them and the government collects less revenue. He put in a 50% tax decrease in the upper bracket and an eightfold tax decrease for lower brackets which made taxes more progressive and increased revenue. Tax cuts did not cause the great depression but fdr's tax hikes prolonged it. And I doubt that many economists think we should raise taxes. 300 economists already signed onto John McCain's economic plan. And over Reagan's whole term tax revenues went up very substantially. We are still probably on the wrong side of the laffer curve yet Obama still wants to play class warfare. Obama's new spending will raise the debt more than McCain's tax cuts. And Iraq isn't an issue unless things start to head downhill in which case Obama will be screwed. And why are you hating on Sarah Palin? He didn't pick her to get Hillary supporters. No one who liked Hillary would like Sarah Palin so that doesn't really make any sense.
  18. Whatever you DO NOT APPLY TO CAL. Other than that Uc san diego is nice, san diego state, asu, u of a, Uc davis, san jose state, usf, Lmu, usd, long beach state, usc, caltech, uc riverside, uc irvine, or you could go to the number one college in the country...CHICO STATE  There is a store in chico that sells the most Keystone in the country. It's like they have the factory there.
  19. Overall I'll give McCains pick of Sarah Palin a 8/10. I'd like to see Obama or even McCain for that matter tell her that we shouldn't drill in anwr. I was hoping for a while that he would pick lieberman and then I realized he would have no chance of winning. To Republicans Lieberman is still a democrat and to democrats he is a traitor and a filthy evil money grubbing neocon/jew.
  20. ^^Honestly I don't follow this too closely but one thing I've heard is that there are more breakthroughs with the adult stem cells.
  21. Taking a embryo that is not going to be born/ adult stem cells = YES Creating a baby for the sole purpose of killing it = NO No of course not. Anyone who believes in God is obviously stupid. Atheists are just so much smarter. They can see through the hoaxes an lies in a way us normal people just can't. atheists are evil?
  22. I'm against creating embryos just for the research. If an embryo isn't going to be born it might as well be used for some good.
  23. ^^Thats been shown time and time again. Coolidge, Kennedy, Reagan. When Andrew Mellon cut the top tax rates from like 77% to 25% revenue went up. And his tax plan was actually more progressive than what was already in place. It's also been estimated that Bill Clinton would have two thirds more revenue in his first three years of office had he not raised taxes. Obama and democrats just like playing class warfare. He's acknowledged that raising the capital gains tax would lower revenue yet he wants to do it anyway for purposes of "Fairness"
