  1. Since everyone's on the topic of GPAs, keep in mind that many colleges don't even weigh APs. An A+ is counted as a 4.0 and then down from there. Of course, the level of difficulty is considered, but it's not weighed in GPA calculation. Ivy League schools do GPAs in such fashion along with lots of other schools. To the OP, I took most of those classes also, over the span of two years (honors and AP chem this year). Those APs were the easiest classes I have ever taken lol. The AP tests for calc were really a joke; it's kinda sad that it's even counted as an AP. When you says honors and AP, do you do one year of honors and one year of AP, or, like my school, a half year of each?
  2. You can actually play things like that competitively. "Competitively" to me is just playing at regionals and sjcs. Yugioh is a lot funner than a lot of you think. While the concepts of mtg deckbuilding aren't all that helpful, I still think it's fun. IMO, mtg is still the best tcg where the most SKILLED player wins. Pokemon got boring for me, it was all set up for a few turns and go for ohko's, and all decks did roughly the same thing with different cards. This is my yugioh deck right now Monsters (22) 3x Raiza the Storm Monarch 3x Thestalos the Firestorm Monarch 2x Zaborg the Thunder Monarch 2x Cyber Dragon 2x Apprentice Magician 2x Old Vindictive Magician 1x Crystal Seer 1x Mystic Tomato 1x Sangan 1x Snipe Hunter 1x Spirit Reaper 1x Treeborn Frog 1x Breaker the Magical Warrior 1x Magician of Faith Spells (11) 2x Soul Exchange 2x Enemy Controller 1x Nobleman of Crossout 1x Brain Control 1x Mystical Space Typhoon 1x Heavy Storm 1x Pot of Avarice 1x Book of Moon 1x Premature Burial Traps (7) 3x Bottomless Trap Hole 1x Sakuretsu Armor 1x Call of the Haunted 1x Mirror Force 1x Torrential Tribute Sidedeck (15) 3x Hydrogeddon 3x Shrink 2x Pulling the Rug 2x Jinzo 2x Don Zaloog 1x Nobleman of Crossout 1x Mystic Tomato 1x Scapegoat
  3. I used to play lots of mtg, but that got boring and so did pokemon after I got tired of my metanite deck. Right now, I'm playing yugioh competitively, going to regionals and such.
  4. .25 the first 2 times, and .188 or .17something the next few times.
  5. 1st Semester: -Intro to Computers -Honors Statistics -Civics/Economics -Honors Chemistry 2nd Semester: -AP Statistics -AP Chemistry -British Literature -off roll (no class) This year's going to be hella easy.
  6. I am annoyed by a lot of people at my school. 1st comes the people in my easy classes. They are stupid. They lower my IQ. EX: I'm in my US History class, and we are learning about WW1. Emphasis on the 1. Our teacher shows us a political cartoon featuring Germany during WW1. There is a German man featured in it. He has a funny mustache. My class exclaims, "Hitler!!" It was so funny, yet so saddening. 2nd comes the people in my harder classes. They are of average intelligence, but they study. A lot. They think they're so smart. I'm irritated by those people for some reason, and I know I shouldn't be, but whatever. It would take me a long time to list off all the other people I am annoyed by.
  7. Anime is pretty cool. The only thing that I have a problem with is when people discuss anime like it is canon. Most anime =/= canon. Manga usually = canon.
  8. True, but even though the pieces may be put in wrong, there will only be a maximum of 3 "mistakes." We should have a race everyone! I'll post a youtube link of me solving the cube tommorow or something.
  9. These kinds of posts will inevitiably evolve into a "can you provide a question the original poster can't answer?" thread. Just my observation.
  10. you could try changing hijackthis[Caution: Executable File] to some other thing, because some viruses hide from it.
  11. You don't "do" a pattern. It's just a series of algorithms you follow, doing permutations. It is near impossible to figure out a cube just by yourself. The first 2 layers are easy. For me, it took an hour or so to figure it out. But getting the whole cube done was way too hard. I'll have to say this. If you give someone a cube and they solve it without getting any help, check their IQ. It will most likely be very high, probably in the genius category.
  12. Hey, how fast are you guys? I'm around 23 seconds. I was trying to get sub-20 over the summer, but my speed hasn't increased for half a year, probably because I'm too lazy to memorize algorithms. Are we allowed to post youtube links? If so, I'll post one of my solves later.
  13. Indeed. Procrastination was the key to my sanity during high school.
  14. Is that the same Shinobi that was in the classic video games for the Sega megadrive/genesis? I had the games when I was young, if thats the same character then thats a film I would like to see. Probably not. Looking at my very limited knowledge, the movie isn't based on any video game. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0475723/
  15. apparently you havent looked very hard. anyways...you should download the free version of bitdefender and run a scan. imo i has one of the best on demand scanners. superantispyware also.
  16. That's... insane. You're either the smartest person I've ever known, or I'm missing something. How did you get through all the information for Bio with only 10 minutes of homework (unless you never did labs...)? How did you survive the Euro test from that description of your year? And how does your system work so that the classes you're taking sophmore and junior year I can't even take until senior year o_O? (including math- are you in a class of high-level seniors for BC calc?) And does your school have some policy of "some classes homework is mandatory, some it's just do whatever"? I've never had a class in my life where homework isn't mandatory. Sometimes teachers didn't check (like in AP Latin Virgil, but since we went over the lines in class our teacher could tell who did and didn't do the homework), but to have homework assigned that isn't mandatory? Uh... :uhh: . Honestly, am I the only one on this thread baffled by this? To tell you the truth, all the hw I had in bio was these review of chapters, where there are lots of short answer questions. I never answered anything right, I just wrote down random stuff that looked like biology. My teacher goes through hundreds of them, so he didn't take the time to carefully read them. For the labs, I made stuff up. the stuff I made up was relatively logical though. European test was a nightmare. If anyone took the 06 one, they know. for some reason, I was never really interested in history. I tried to memorize key things, but it just slipped out of my mind, something that rarely happens for me. I really don't know what happened. I suppose I did well on the DBQ and FRQ and totally bombed the mc.
  17. Shinobi I don't think lots of people have seen this, since it's japanese, but it's a really good movie. Why? It's about ninjas! Seriously, it really is good.
  18. Go for the simple solution. They can be tracked. LOL. Seriously, Rowling sucks at making good stories. I mean, if all "magical" ways of transportation can be tracked, couldn't he just have put on his cloak and walked away, far enough somewhere so that he could jump on his broom and fly away?
  19. Lol, I don't hate you :P . I'm just surprised that anyone can say that they did very little if any homework in an AP class (okay, I hate you a little for having easy AP classes while mine were hell >_>). And is it "passed" as in 3+, or 4's and 5's? What AP classes did you take, and if you're willing to disclose the information, what did you get on the tests? Anyways, I had AP Latin and AP Bio, with highest level Math (BC Precalc) and high level English. For English the homework varied a lot, usually no more than an hour though. Always had at least 45 minutes of homework for Precalc. AP Latin was Hell on earth, with 1.5-2 hours of homework a night, and 5+ hour preping for each godforsaken test. And Bio, well, Bio was weird. Plenty of homework though. Here's a day out of the homework assignment list (we got one weekly or biweekly): Sophmore year I took AP Calc, Bio, European History. If I remember correctly, I got 5, 5, 4. The 4 was in European History. My teacher was a joke, didn't teach, didn't care, so I ended up playing poker and solving rubick's cubes for one whole year. Calc was simple. My teach gave us homework, but it wasn't mandatory so obviously I didn't do it. Bio my teacher was hardcore, but very good, and homework was required. It took me a good 10 minutes per day doing his work, which I completed in homeroom. Junior year I took AP Physics Mechanics, AP Physics Electricity and Magnetism, Calc B/C, Computer Science. I got 4 in calc, mechanics and comp sci, and 3 in electricity. Very noob, I know, but I really slacked and didn't pay attention to anything in my class. Senioritis one term too soon lol. Again, never did homework in Physics, since nothing was required, but it was good practice and I'm sure if I did the homwork and listened in class, I would have gotten 5s. Calc as usual was simple. No mandatory hw. I skipped the whole calculator frq in on the AP test since I got bored, so that's probably why I got a 4. Comp sci I had no homework either. We actually had lots of hw, but they were just programs. I just got them from friends and stuff, so I never really had to do anything other than take the tests.
  20. That's... disturbing. Does your school pad grades too or something? And how the heck did you survive the AP test(s)? No offense, but OP, don't take this advice. At my school, the only classes that were true hell were the AP courses; the workload, the grading, it's completely out of the regular classes' league. To think that a school wouldn't have homework in AP classes... let alone actually have upperclassmen with no homework, or so little that it can be done between classes... that's just wrong. Please, especially in at least matters of AP courses, don't take runecscape_rocks' advice. And take every post here with a grain of salt, including my post about the varying difficulties of each grade level; each high school is different :P . Wow. You just hate me haha. Anyways, can you explain your experiences with AP classes? Mine were relatively the same. Almost non-existent homework, harder tests and such. I didn't think they were taught badly or anything, since I passed all the AP tests I took.
  21. 1. Snape was talking to Dumbledore's portrait. 2. It's thanks to the elder wand that harry killed Voldemort, and it generally makes the story much better, especially the part where Dumbledore told harry he was fit to be the master of death. I think this is what he means... 1. If Harry had any sense, he would find the Dumbledore portrait, which somehow still has all his memories and is apparently sapient. Wake up Dumbledore!! Tell me everything!! Kthxbye. 2. Rowling always made Harry the epitome of love and whatnot. He then defeats Voldemort through not an act of love, but through a stroke of luck. Although Harry's love has been an extremely valuable asset, it ultimately did nothing to the destruction of Voldemort. Rather, it protected others and allowed him to succesfully possess the hallows and whatnot. That being said, in my opinion, an author should end a story like this through either the destruction or victory of the protagonist, all the while exhibiting the ideals he/she stands for. However, in this book, Harry defeats Voldemort not through his love, but through a newly introduced item that has nowhere near the importance of love. I agree that the hallows were messed up. But, of course, if Rowling hadn't put them in, the book would have been even more predictable, and no one wants that.
  22. To Zanarkand(my rmx) Made a To Zanarkand remix on fruity loops. Sounds crappy as hell, but I'm making it better.
  23. Ok, I'll just say this. Try your best in school and study for everything. And don't take lots of APs if you can't handle them. Or if you are too lazy. I, unfortunately, took 7 APs in my sophmore and junior year, and although I thought I had the resolve to study for them and do the homework, I did not. So just make SURE that you can handle the classes you take. Homework, at least for me, was almost non-existent. I set aside a 10 minute period during my ride to school to do homework. If you don't like homework, take APs. My teachers never required homework. Homework was just practice for the AP test. In my other classes, I found the homework very easy, but there was a lot of it. Sometimes, it took me even 30 minutes to complete it. That said, you will probably have a different experience than me, I'm just sharing my experiences. If you absolutely hate homework, but think you are relatively smart, take AP/honors classes. If not, then take regular classes. But believe me - finish ALL of your homwork. If you need to, study for all your tests. High school counts. Teachers- most are relatively nice. They wouldn't be teaching if they didn't like kids right? But if you happen to encounter a bad one, you'd better go study on your own. And if you enouncter a mean one...well, stay out of his/her way lol. Beatdown- Don't know what that it. Getting lost- It really is not that hard, trust me. In less than a week, you'll remember where all your classes are.
  24. Exactly. If people could travel back in time, how is it that we don't encounter people from the future? All theoretical time machines allow travel from the time it is built to the future.
  25. It's time dilation, part of relativity. At least I think it's time dilation.
