what is the gp limit? If Jagex used the BigInt-class which is a part of the Java Library, the size of a number is only limited by the available memory/harddiskspace on the server where it is stored. It saves the number as a string and I guess they use a custom made interpreter to convert the binary String to decimal representation. I have heard recent reports in another thread which I shall have to find. Current GP limit for RuneScape: ~2.1 billion in bank Recommended maximum GP: ~1 billion in bank I personally will never carry more than 500 million gp maximum... IF I ever get that far. Why? They are the number one, the biggest, the top dogs of Java programming! If they move onto something else they'll be nothing but common shills in comparison to the big companies like Blizzard and Sony. The game is just fine the way it is, it's netting the Gower's millions undoubtedly and therefore why fix something that isn't broken? Well you don't know, they could make an engine that is like but has differences that allows the game to run better. And the problem is all in "How will they update your client?"... Some people are dangerously update-paranoid, and will do everything to stop auto-updating of everything but their antivirus and firewall. This would then require Jagex to do a version check and prompt a user if the auto-update is offline to update to the latest, and a lot of people won't do that without a system backup, which most are too lazy/scared to do. This therefore crushes the idea of a non-java applet, sadly. :( ~Mr. Devnull

As a note, I only have 1 slot in my 60 as an F2P taken up by a random event item, and only for comparison collection-wise with others. Now admittedly, I have 6 blurite swords (all for formal occasion purposes, mind you) which are taking up a 2nd slot... but my other 58 are all locked up with rather much necessary items. I really need 12 slots more to pack away the rest of my normal stuff and have room spare for the extra items that will come up here and there. If I could pay for P2P, I would, but since I can not, and us 9 million F2P'ers all contribute to the funds Jagex has, we all really more or less deserve to have a little bit of a space expansion. Honestly, Prankster_King, I do not mean to whack you over the head by any means. I just felt this kind of problem needed a voice of proper perspective in addition to your own. @ ALL who do not know what this thread was fully about: The intent of this thread was to gain 12 extra spaces for any option (normal stuff and/or random event), not just for one or the other. I personally need at least 12 spaces more to be able to de-equip everything at night when I go offline so my stuff will be double-shielded behind my bank pin plus my account pass on RuneScape. Extra spaces for the Random Event Items would be a nice bonus, but the reason I support this thread is for the main gear. I suggest you hop on board too with this thought. ~Mr. Devnull
