  1. The fan didn't even hit Dida in the face. The guy shouldn't have been on the pitch but all he did was tap Dida across the chest, Dida even ran after him for a few seconds before it dawned on him that he could milk the minimal contact to take the attention off of his error and to get some added injury time, he looked as pathetic as Rivaldo did when he pretended he'd been shot in the face by the ball that hit him in the leg during a world cup game (2002 i think). Dida should be ashamed when he looks back at his antics and his performance.
  2. Rangers 3 - Lyon 0. Rangers were really impressive last night. It's a hard task to beat Lyon at home, nevermind doing it so in such a convincing way. Juninho threatened now and then (from a free kick and a shot from about 20 yards which both hit the woodwork) but apart from than Lyon were surprisingly poor at making clear cut chances. Celtic 2 - AC Milan 1. Tonight Celtic did so well against the odds. The fought for every lose ball and stopped Milan playing their game. Shocking decision from the referee to give the penalty but justice was done when McDonald scored. Scottish Football is taking on everyone right now, lets hope it continues :D .
  3. Right for a start, Alfred Hitchcock is a rather well known director so it's not like I'm making a big deal about some random obscure film maker. Secondly I only pointed it out because you went out of your way to put somebody down when they made a valid point, on top of that the put down in response to that was completely false. I didn't say Disturbia was a bad film, my point is (and I think it was Tryto's also) that it is a remake which sticks close to the original so it's not indicative of modern horror films - it is a re-telling of a much older style film and therefore not really a valid example of a modern horror film. Also I didn't spell "neighbor" wrong, in proper (ie. non-American) English "neighbor" has a U in it, hence neighbour. Don't start on me because your nation ruined the English language. On that not I used the word feint (as in to feint - a deceptive action) in the wrong context. Now please can I stop "being a jerk" and stay on topic?

Well this is an prime example of the problem with military junta's, they have no idea how to go about the day to day running of a nation but they are very good at keeping power at all costs. The most worrying thing with the situation now is that it has become so large and widespread that the Junta has really been backed into a corner by the protesters. From the Junta's perspective the have only two options - allow the protests to continue, thus losing authority within the nation or crush the protests in a similar manner as they did in '88. Unfortunately the latter of the two options seems to have prevailed.
  5. Just say no like Zammo did and remember that crack is wack and you'll be okay  .
  6. Portsmouth 7 - Reading 4 I think they set a new record for most Premiership goals in one game today. Who says Benjani cant score eh?
  7. Nessun Dorma - Pavarotti then Blondie - Atomic
  8. Thats because it was a rip-off of Rear Window by Alfred Hithcock, so is not a recent horror movie. Cannot be used in discussion. Who cares? Alfred Hitchcock didn't make a movie out of it. If this discussion included books, you would be correct. Alfred Hitchcock is a film director, Tryto isn't talking about a book. Rear Window is a film starring James Stewart (he's an actor by the way). It's about "a wheelchair bound photographer spies on his neighbours from his apartment window and becomes convinced one of them has committed murder." Does that plot in anyway seem similar? Thought so. Next time don't try to be smart when you don't have the feintest clue about what you're talking about clever clogs. Quoted area courtesy of IMDB
  9. I prefer spirits to both, I'm not much of a beer drinker and I just simply never drink wine.

Of course I've enjoyed certain remakes but for the most part they just tend to make me interested in the original than anything else. That being said there are no films I want to see remade not a single one - if I like a film that much I'd just rather get it on DVD. However, I am really dreading the Harvey Weinstein version of Seven Samurai; http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0814315/

In my opinion, remakes usually aren't a good thing. To me they seem to show how scared Hollywood is now to take risks on new and innovative ideas which is why they're trying to re-create past successes by remaking films that have previously proven to be a financial success ( or by banking on the success of franchises - Rocky, Die Hard etc). The thing that I really hate about remakes though is the fact that most of them are pretty lousy (especially compared to the originals) and rely so much on the reputation of the original to get bums in seats. Personally when I go to the cinema, or even when I buy a new DVD, I want to see something new, exciting and interesting and I just don't seem to find that in remakes. Obviously there are exceptions to this, some remakes are alright but even then I still seem to be more interested in discovering the original on DVD to compare it with, maybe it's just me though. On the point of technology (mainly cgi), I think alot of the time it takes away from the experience. The use of real props, stunts, locations and everything else just improves a film for me - knowing that there is alot of cgi in a film just destroys any illusion of reality.
  12. Petrov just scored, things are getting better...slightly. Now what I'd give for Osman, Utaka and Anelka to score a dozen or so and for a Man Utd win tommorow.
  13. I saw that one coming a mile off so I tried to prepare by putting on Van Persie and making him captain. Then what does Wenger do? He drops him...just my luck lol.
  14. Well personally I never get that nervous before an exam. The way I see it; I know the content of subject that the exam is about (usually) and the exam isn't that important in the grand scheme of things. The day before an exam I don't do any revision, I try to do something relaxing like watching TV or a film then I try to get a good nights sleep (which might be the most important thing. On the day of an exam I don't look at my notes or anything - cramming right before an exam gets me extremely nervous and it doesn't help you learn anything new because if you don't know by then you'll never learn it in my opinion. I don't really talk too much to my classmates before an exam either because I find their pre-exam nerves seem to transfer to me. The advise I'd give you is just not to take the exam/test too seriously because it's not that important, don't stress about the stuff you don't know - focus on what you do know. If you've done the work and prepared well throughout the year by attending classes and doing revision you'll do okay.

  21. That scene is taken from Eisenstein's Battleship Potemkin - it was originally in the famous scene on the Odessa steps. A great scene.
  22. and his son is Craig Gordon. That might very well be true. I don't care that we had to defend for 89.5 minutes, we won again. I honestly did not believe this is possible.
  23. There is a god and he is a Scotsman! Scotland 1 - France 0 AGAIN :D Pld Pts SCOTLAND 9 21 ITALY 9 20 FRANCE 9 19 UKRAINE 8 13 LITHUANIA 9 10 GEORGIA 9 7 FAROE ILNDS 9 0 Who would've thought it eh?? :D
  24. I didn't, I mentioned Britain as well and we're discussing Russia here - that three. I don't claim to know every nation that uses thermobarics I was making the point that you can't condemn Russia for using them and at the same time condone other nations using them. The point wasn't meant to single out America what I was trying to do was highlight the hypocracy of certain posters and the hypocracy in the way that this has been reported. My point is basically; if a nation thinks it's acceptable to use these weapons they can't complain if another nation uses them. I hope that clears things up.
