As stated in our Treasure Trails Guide, your map piece is of a spot on the way to Mort'ton. Starting in Mort Myre Swamp make your way towards the Haunted Mine. Then walk North. You need to find the location that's pictured in your map. When you do, take a closer look at the numbers and letters on your map. The numbers on your map are the number of steps you must take, and the letters are the direction you must take the steps in. Starting at the most southern point, follow the steps and when you get to the spot indicated by the X on your map, DIG.

No, you don't have to do the quest. But if you look at the world map, you'll be able to see the Chompy Bird Hunting quest start point in Feldip Hills (look for the *). For Fycie's exact location, look in our Treasure Trails Guide.

It's called a random event for a reason. I've been playing for a long time, and I've never gotten the evil chicken or a mime -- that's random. Random means that you can spend 3 days straight doing something that people say causes a specific random event to appear, and you get absolutely nothing. Then your friend comes along, and gets the random event you wanted within 10 minutes. That's random. Just because "some guys got 3 in a hour" doesn't mean you will. And how do you know that "these guys" were telling the truth? It will help if you stop EXPECTING to get a random event when you're working on a specific skill. Think of the skill exp you get instead. You know what they say -- a watched pot never boils.

Next time, try looking in our Treasure Trails Guide before you post. All the clues and their solutions are in the guide (including the one you posted about).

You do NOT need a sextant, watch and chart to dig on a map clue. You only need the navigation tools when you're digging on a coordinates clue. As far as you map is concerned, find the EXACT spot where the X is on your map and DIG. Make sure you're on a members world, and make sure you have your clue scroll WITH YOU when you dig. Otherwise it won't work.

jwrm22 and sk8ermsu784 are correct, lesser demons do NOT drop clue scrolls. We have removed "clue scroll (lvl 3)" from the Lesser Demon drop list in the Bestiary.
