You can also buy/trade them from other players. That's how I got mine a long time ago.

As explained in our Random Events Guide, nothing. Jagex has yet to include a use for them in any updates.

Take it to Tindel Merchant in Port Khazard (near the Fishing Trawler mini-game) -- he will identify it for you and return it as the type of sword he thinks it is (random type). I believe it costs 100gp per rusty sword.
