Couple of Random Questions
Just to add, the minimum herb yield with supercompost is 3 w/o secateurs, 5 with them. An indication of just how useful they are. Also, you don't need to be on the Ancient spellbook in order to direct the portal to Canifis (Kharyrll). You can do this on the normal spellbook, but you still need to have DT completed and 200 laws/100 bloods. A Watchtower portal can be skipped by moving your house to Yanille, though you may want to consider this alongside the Ardougne Hard Achievement Diary reward which changes the Watchtower telespot to the centre of Yanille, which is closer to the bank. You can't have all the teleport locations in a POH unless you do three portal rooms, which is frankly a waste because two go spare and teleporting to Lumbridge is free once every thirty minutes anyway, so most POHs I've seen have two portal rooms with six portals.

Life Point Boosting armour (TORVA)
The door has apparently been updated today, which doesn't really tell a whole lot because we already knew the GWD would be involved. It does appear to confirm something will happen soon though.

Life Point Boosting armour (TORVA)
Gods are capitalised in standard nomenclature. Torva isn't. It would appear contradictory, therefore foolish to assume anything no matter how heavily it's implied. All I'm saying is you're speculating. Nothing more. These threads do nothing more than contribute to false rumours and Chinese whispers, which lead to rants when the update inevitably falls short of everyone's exacting expectations. I'm willing to bet the very same people speculating in this thread will be the people saying, "This update is useless," sure as night follows day. All we know is, there will be life-boosting armour, and it will involve the GWD somehow. That's it. We don't even know what "life-point boosting" actually means. Slow restoration, boosting beyond 990... the language is ambiguous.

Life Point Boosting armour (TORVA)
May not even be a new line of armour. Could be that the 'torva' is a mineable ore which is to be added to already existing armour, providing them with additional benefits. It may not even be better than existing armour; the penalty for LP boosting could be worse defence/penalties for offensive stats. There's too much implication in this thread that this armour will be better than all currently available, and that it will be executed through MHing. The leak says the GWD, not 'gained by killing Graar'.

My farming level pwns yours, so you're a noob. Nah not really, smart stuff this.

New farming pots
The AoW Herblore Habitat guide implies common jadinko, but it took me (and others) much more than 125 or so jadinko to get even one ugune seed. It actually took me over 300. Others suggest Carrion, these are the figures from the guide: Common: 1/10 chance for all seeds Carrion: 1/12 chance for herb seeds only Intuitively, carrion looks better to me because the common jadinko's probability is watered down by the seeds you don't want. But the guide says common. I'm not sure of the statistical basis for this.

Current rs vs 07 rs.
We're talking about free trade and wildy, not RS2 vs RSC. The point is, if the Luddites actually wanted to play a version of RuneScape with PKing and a free market, they could easily do so, yet choose not to. This behaviour is telling.

Tip.It Times - 19th December 2010
It's amazing how naive you are at the start of playing RuneScape. I remember back in 06 when I started my old account that I wouldn't wear mystic robes until I was 99 magic. In my own little mind I didn't 'deserve' to wear them until I could at least enter the Guild in Yanille. I also remember PMing all my friends when I reached Ardougne for the first time thinking this was some mega-impressive achievement. Getting 80 combat took months and months because I didn't get the idea of staying in one place for hours and grinding; found it too boring. It's no surprise that it took just seven months on my new account for me to overtake the total level of my three-year old banned account.

Free Trade and Old Wilderness back [21-Dec-2010]
You mean, when there was runaway inflation thanks to alching and no gold sinks in sight except for crystal equipment recharges?

Scroll of Cleansing or Scroll of Life?
The thing is, harcore dungeoneering isn't really needed to get both. 10K for SoL, 20K for SoC, 300K experience total? That's level 61.

Free Trade and Old Wilderness back [21-Dec-2010]
You've got it totally right, I mean I've been around for a long time, but never been particularly good at the game, but RS is a unique MMO, just because WOW dictates we must have quick endgame, where arguably the game begins properly, does not mean RS must follow suit. Runescape has a large scape of skills of different xp rates, prestige and usefulness at 99, the capes caused 99-mania and before 99s were not so important now arguably we all play for these 99s. But the fact remains RS doesn't need to evolve into a browser based World of Warcraft. I don't think you two have fully comprehended the point. Whatever WoW may or may not dictate, whatever you like doing in RuneScape - and let's not involve grinding or efficiency into this argument; we've all had enough of it - RuneScape has a ridiculously primative combat system. Training it basically boils down to clicking on an enemy, whilst paying half attention to how many kills are left the slayer task, whether you need to pot up or eat something, or watching a special attack bar recharge. The Capes of Achievement have turned out to be so deeply ingrained into the RuneScape mentallity it's difficult to create a distiction between playing RuneScape, or working on getting 99s, borne out of some sense of obligation in order to 'show off' to other people. In fact, RuneScape in general is so ingloriously simple it's not difficult to see why bots have such a field day. Whether WoW suffers from similar problems or different problems is irrelevent to RuneScape. You can't establish a solid identity by saying, "X is not Y". See: Nonconformity.

Quick 12m?
OK, really... banking takes thirty seconds in Edgeville. A whole run takes five minutes, and if you convert the profits to an hourly basis, would you turn down a 5Mgp/hr activity? https://spreadsheets...Q3c&output=html There is absolutely no doubting whether herb farming is worth banking for.

Current rs vs 07 rs.
If the total and combat levels on the Runehead hiscores are anything to go by, I'd say this is a very presumptuous opinion. Sure, they could theoretically have gained it all in three years but I doubt it. New RuneScape; I prefer the D&Ds and I frankly never cared much for PKing or free trade.

Quick 12m?
Doesn't planting take too long? But i think i could do other stuff till it grows. :) All the studies into herb farming collate into an average yield of 6.8 per herb patch without the juju potion, and they all assume deaths from people not checking the health of their herbs. (In other words, 0 yields are included) Hardly anyone stands by their herbs to check their health unless they're alching, allotment farming at the same time or skilling something that doesn't require a bank, like bolts/arrows. The vast majority lay the super compost to decrease risk of disease and increase herb yield, plant the seed and do something else until they've grown. I personally plant them, do a slayer task and come back. Grown plants can't die, so you can take all the time in the world. That's the appeal; metaphorically, it really is like growing money in the ground whilst you do something else. It's been proven in light of the Herblore Habitat - hence the need to do herb runs as quickly as possible before the juju's effect runs out - that herb runs can be accomplished quite easily within 5 minutes on a good connection, going to Trollheim first.

Quick 12m?
Your farming level is pretty unforgiveable, no offence. Someone with multiple 99s in the pursuit of moneymakers should not be only level 40 farming, but no matter, because toadflax can be planted at 38. If you're interested in raising the hunter level, take a look at the Herblore Habitiat guide in the AoW in order to boost profits. Each herb run provides over 100K, easily more with juju farming potions, and takes five minutes. It's not gonna get 12m any time soon, but it will get it over time for very little effort and provide good farming experience until you can do maples/pineapples.

Want to start doing farming runs
It would be news to me as well. It's unsellable, simple as.
-
average honor points
Depends on the role. Healer gives crazy amounts compared to Defender. It's probably that, and the difficulty of the role, that puts people off the latter.
-
JuJu Farming Potions
If you want a tip, taken from the AoW guide, when farming ugune for the farming pot, pick one herb, walk away, make a farming pot, drink it then continue to pick ugune. That way, only one ugune is picked ever whilst lacking the farming pot's effect.
-
JuJu Farming Potions
Marble vine requires igneous jadinko which can be caught at 74 hunter. Thermal vent is needed, so 75 construction is A-OK. The three hunter levels could easily be gained with time to spare at Oo'glog. Herblore level is fine. Get on it, s0n

*NEW* Player Behavior Rants (No Naming Names)
5:5 large, about 2/3 the way through (after a whole hour), keyer goes back to home base, smiths himself full Gorg, comes back and ranges with a Sagi Bow. One of those moments when only "WTF?!" can possibly explain what's happening. As if not knowing the combat triangle wasn't bad enough, he was 99 ranged and didn't know the combat triangle.

Barrows Isolation
lolno. Takes the point out of camping and managing resources. And paying due attention, of course.
-
Barrows Isolation
If you were praying, maybe look at the cape? Reaching 99 in either fletching or woodcutting would provide +4 prayer, immediately.

Free Trade and Old Wilderness back [21-Dec-2010]
Except no one's admitted anything. It's staggering how fast people jump to assumptions about Jagex's motivations based on nothing concrete. Give people an inch, they'll take a mile.

14-Dec-2010 - Damage Soaking and New Hitsplats
Maybe the same time F2Pers realise it's a demo version of the main game.

What do you want from 2011?
A fundamental reworking of the non-combat skills. Something like the circus where being a high level isn't required, it only increases the chances of success significantly. Like smithing rune armour can be attempted at levels lower than 99, but only at 99 is it guarenteed to be a success. To incentivise levelling skills further, those who have a certain given level can customise their armour, perhaps tie this in with other artisan skills (Runecrafting, fletching and crafting). Even if this is just for show and provides no additional bonuses, it's something more interesting the linear system we currently have where everyone wears the same armour with a different coloured whip.
