That's not what it is, although some road signs will inform your hazard perception. This (pretty old) video explains it pretty well. https://www.youtube....h?v=NIx_u9IQFVM So hazards like pedestrians running out onto the road, cars pulling out.
  2. That's a big understatement. On top of all the other XP giveaways this year, it's gamebreaking. I don't usually give much credence to veterans who state "We did it the hard way" but it's becoming increasingly difficult to say that their achievements aren't being devalued to junk. The achievements mean nothing already. But the achievements mean nothing outside of a personal realm. There are many updates - giveaways or otherwise - the add to the "devaluing" of "achievements" - Runespan a prime example. What about penguins giving exp every week. DEVALUED OH NO. It's only such if you let yourself believe it to be, and youre going to for a number of reasons, not just a shitty aura that gives exp away once a day. They don't mean "nothing", and that isn't what I actually said. I think you've blown what I said out of all proportion just to make an argument for yourself there.

  4. I can't really vouch for Glacors, but Dungeoneering has been far too easy in EoC Live, to be fair.
  5. Ahhhh right. I remember there was that guy who posted Super Smash Bros Brawl memes everywhere in the OT and Video Games board like it was going out of fashion, would have been a few years back now. That's where I got confused.
  6. When you consider that two thirds of your communicating boils down to body language, alcohol really doesn't do you any favours in the long run. Sure, you might start behaving in a confident manner. You will definitely suffer from terrible hand-eye coordination, nausea, blurred vision, slow reflexes, slurred speech, a desperate need to eliminate every twenty minutes and an annoying tendency to lose balance and fall over on the dance floor. What girl could possibly resist? Given body language is more important, wouldn't working on things like eye contact, body posture (etc.) be far more beneficial to your success rates in the long run? Not only that, but can't you also do it without chucking £15 worth of booze down you first? More effective and cheaper. I think in RuneScape they call this "efficiency", don't they?
  7. Was this fighting game of a Nintendo flavour? Just checking we've got the same man...
  8. No, it doesn't do it comprehensively enough, and I've criticised that before. Also, I've criticised the advert they ran a while back with guy having a flashback experience while fighting the troll which I thought was incredibly misleading about the game's strengths and weaknesses. It's a very impressive graphical advert, which doesn't reflect in the game, while the game's genuine strengths aren't shown at all. At least the new tutorial puts players right into the heart of the one the game's main storylines, though. Before it was a bizarre, inaccessible, soulless part of the world whose existence didn't seem to be very well explained from an in-universe perspective. It didn't teach players a great deal, in fact it taught nothing at all about member-only skills, and didn't give players any clue as to what direction they might want to go based on their personal interests.
  9. Being thrown in at the deep end and told to swim (or more likely, sink) is demonstrably worse in just about every other context the approach is applied to.
  10. That role has essentially been replaced by Tasks and Daily Challenges, hasn't it? Both of which are found in Burthorpe.
  11. Quests in the old RuneScape 2 were still about "Go here, fetch that for us." The whole of Rune Mysteries was basically running between Draynor and Varrock, only without teletabs it literally was running if you were a low level and hadn't trained Magic up yet. If anything, quests now are less about running back and forth. Also, is it not a perfectly valid logical supposition that new players can still explore the world quite organically from Burthorpe?
  12. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=WBk32OUxCnU Nothing encapsulates the key message in the "First World Problem" meme more than this video.
  13. It was a known issue in the beta. If they'd wanted to fix it, they knew about it then, and chose not to.
  14. I think that's a good attitude. People drink alcohol: simple reality of life. To lose their inhibitions, because it's a social thing, because they're anxious. I like to see it differently though... people don't suddenly become someone that they're not because they're drunk. They're still themselves, it's just that the normal social restraints they'd put on themselves aren't being applied, because they're drunk, and so things which they would normally feel embarrassed about or things they might want to keep hidden come to the forefront of their persona. If you're flirting with girls when you're drunk, then you can do it when you're not drunk. It's a bit more intimidating because you haven't had a few, but you can still do it, and it's probably more effective because the girl (or boy) is sober and knows exactly what they're getting themselves in for if they decide to entertain it.
  15. Can I ask why you take renewals and normal prayer potions? My only guess is because you use renewals to counter the drain effect inside the crypts and tunnels, and then pot up to full after each run. I was wondering whether prayer was really necessary, Dh and Ka aside, when you're already wearing armour which provides very high resistance to their attacks anyway. Unless it has something to with Akr. I've not completed ROTM so...
  16. One my friends back home has just split up with her husband. It's been a very fast, clean break-up. I'm going back next weekend, which will be my first opportunity to speak to her about it. We're going to be at a birthday party so I'm not sure if she'll want to go into morbid details but apart from that, I'm not really sure what to say to her. My other friends say she's acting quite happy over it, but I suspect she's just putting a face on. I'm really not sure whether to go with the act or not.
  17. This is the kind of game-changing research that EoE do into the RS metagame when we're not DGing btw. No excuses for low levels not to bath now.
  18. It seems like it would just be an attempt to appease a group that won't be happy regardless of what you do for them. Yeah, and where do you draw the line here? People quit over Ancients. People quit over free trade removal (although it went back eventually). People are quitting over EoC. What would be the best cut-off point to say "This is RS2, and this post-RS2"? Impossible question.

I'm pressing windows key combos like there's no tomorrow now. Windows key + L is basically the same as Switch User except it can be done much quicker. You can appreciate the many wonderful applications of this.
  20. A duel wield setup opens up the Unload ability, although that's not available in F2P. Otherwise, I think I'm right in thinking the off-hand doesn't boost the other abilities' damage, so you could take a shield and be dealing just as much damage, or else use a shield and switch to the off-hand at 100% adrenaline for Unload. It would have to be a ranged shield, though, as any other will cut into your ranged accuracy. If you're not struggling with damage, go duel wield anyway because there's absolutely no need for the shield. Alternatively, consider a 2h bow and arrows. That decision might depend on the weaknesses of the monster you're facing. I'm reasonably sure a bow would deal more damage than a single crossbow + shield setup because of the damage modifier on 2h weapons.
  21. In the same week as Jagex released their RS Beta? The conspiracy theorists will have a field day! It does look lovely, though.
  22. Nothing turns a girl on like the thought of eating dead vermin.

I'm not a very organised person so I have about five or windows open at any one time. Takes a while.
  24. Yeah, it's easy to make money on herbs but it's tantamount to "welfare" now because the profits themselves are just so little and therefore it's a bit slow now. I used to be able to make 1m a day on herbs, now it's closer to 600K. Farming level is irrespective of profit earned, so long as you can plant the seed, because farming level doesn't affect the number of herbs gained per patch. The main advantage though is that it's 600K gained for doing about 25 minutes work a day, which in addition to other dailies and MTK, does add up.
