Your 2012 RuneScape highlight?
Evolution of Combat, on the basis my skills aren't high enough for PoP access and so I can't factor that into my personal experience of the game in 2012. Loved EoC as soon as it got released and my opinion hasn't changed since. Fantastic update.

Your thoughts of 2 NEW RS SKILLS
More options for customisation is always something to look forward to, and there will be a short-term boom due to post-update excitement, but unless the revamp gives the Construction skill a genuine purpose, it will fail to revitalise the skill in the long-term. You can boil so much of this game down to one method's XP/hr rate vs another method's XP/hr rate, and Construction is one such case. Because it fails to improve XP rates in any other skill, POHs don't get used for anything other than one-click teleport safe zones and quick teleport access through the portal rooms/glory hotspot (prayer being the obvious exception, but even that can be trained in someone else's house, not your own). To this day, I cannot understand for the life of me why they made Clan Citadels a separate update, when they had a perfectly good option in improving POHs.

Things that annoy the HELL out of you.
The pure hatred some people feel towards hipsters is one of the most poignant victories of modern day capitalism. It all began decades and decades ago in post-WW2 America, with youths naively believing that they could publish art without the backing of major publishers in the books industry, or major record labels in the music industry, and so long as they made it cheap enough, it was a sustainable method of producing and distributing art. In this system, art was made for art's sake, and commercialisation, such as the use of art in advertising, was rejected. Nowadays, it's quite normal for 'hipsters' to reference to their friends and others within their peer group, with no sense of irony, the exact name of the 'hipster' store they bought their branded 'hipster' clothing, for exactly what hyperinflated price they bought the clothing at. Capitalism has turned a movement which, when it started, was inherently anti-capitalist in nature, into a generation of walking billboards for major commercial brands. Food, water, oil and now the concept of free expression itself. Even if you reject pure capitalism as the fairest model through which to govern a nation's economy as I do, you cannot help but totally awed by its ability to put a price on absolutely anything.

Jagex Company Status: Active - Proposal to Strike off
They won't get struck off, unless they persistently refuse to disclose their financial statements, but it's not a good idea. Investors and creditors are not able to view how worthy the company is of credit until that disclosure has been sent, because they can't assess how much liability shareholders have. New investment into the business is vital. Financial statements of limited companies are public documents by the way, so that disclosure should be available once it's been processed. It doesn't really reflect at all on how good, or bad, RuneScape is selling as a product. The only thing that would reflect that would be the financial statements themselves.

My optician advises me to only keep them in for a maximum of twelve hours a day, with at least six hours in solution in between wears. So I take them out during the evening and wear glasses for the rest of the day. I seem to have some issues about overusing them and consequently gaining very painful, throbbing headaches, which only seem to be stopped by cocodamol (codeine phosphate). So if you get frequent headaches, Star, it might be worth talking about that first with the optician first. That said, they are incredible. If you talk to a high street optician they'll give you a free trial if you ask. The most significant thing you notice almost immediately is your peripheral version, you can see everything in clear detail unlike glasses where you're limited to whatever falls onto the lens. Most people find it odd when you start wearing contacts, but that's just because they're so used to seeing you with glasses on.

If you attack the playerbase for not appreciating the "fun" side of game enough, you risk getting bogged down in a very pointless discussion in which neither side can really win. As we did two years ago, with a lot of fallout caused.

They struck it pretty well with EoC, I thought. If you want to AFK combat, use momentum, but accept that using abilities will probably provide better XP rates. Under those circumstances, if you find "ability spamming" painful, botting isn't the immediate alternative.

Are we certain that's the memorial service? Did Obama visit Connecticut any time in the past year? Baring in mind there's just been an election and photo opportunities with children go with the territory.

I'm pretty sure he was being flippant; give someone the benefit of the doubt before calling them "greedy" and "selfish".

I'm more terrified of that terrible excuse of a substance you have the cheek to call maple *syrup*. This is what real syrup looks like.

There already was a reward for playing 5k CW games--the professional cape. Removing the requirement would have no impact on their ability to trim the completionist cape. I therefore fail to see why they would need any form of compensation.

Heh... let's not drag up the whole "fun vs work" thing from two years back. No one escaped that argument looking good. You seem very possessed on the arguing about the process rather than the consequences. They said the same about Pest Control all those years ago and, bang, look what happened. It's not like we're talking hundreds of hours of dev time here; these are widely-accepted issues with very common sense solutions that take relatively little time to fix. They're what other people have called the "small touches" in other threads, but aside from a few exceptional JMods, Jagex in general seem so piss poor at doing them. PoP being one of few examples of them getting the small details right, pre-EoC waterfiends being worst example I can think of.

Of course it would, but it's a moot point because that isn't the case. I'm sure there are a few players who have genuinely played five thousand games of Castle Wars, but let's get real; the vast majority of those with trimmed completionist capes have not. It makes a mockery of those who have honestly played five thousand games.

There's nothing special about "loafing" Castle Wars games. At all. It requires zero skill, practically zero attention and practically zero effort. If you call these things 'achievements', then you really need to develop some perspective, because you diminish real gaming achievements.

Yeah, I mean there's another issue with the 5K games requirement, or even a 1K games requirement. Does it tell us they've won a certain amount of games in CW? No; Does it tell us how many kills/flag captures they've made in CW? No; Does it tell us they're any good at playing CW? No; Does it tell us they even enjoyed playing 5K games of CW? No. It's completely meaningless.

They found him not guilty of murder if I recall correctly meaning that the mass shootings weren't premeditated. He had some paranoia with the guy he murdered first didn't he? He was packed off to the proverbial loony bin anyway. I think that violent crime is a result of many factors, mental health wellbeing obviously one of them. When you look at the rate of violent crime in the Moss Side area of Manchester it was a combination of many factors which eventually lead a drop in the rate of violent crime, which had previously spiked during the 1990s. There was closer working with the police and community, more cooperation between the two, more focus on the factors leading to crime, but yes, also the restriction and subsequent decrease in availability of firearms. It's not the only factor in violent crime but it is a factor, and I don't think it's wise to conveniently ignore that reality because you find the other factors a bit more sexy. You need to address all the issues behind violent crime, not some of them.

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
I think the half+7 rule is more of an attempt to define a norm than define what's acceptable. Certainly, if they're over 18 and there's no other issues (i.e. unlawful behaviour, abuse, concent etc.) involved, then what happens between two people is their own business, as far as I'm concerned. In the UK, the age of consent is 16 but from ages 15-18 there's obviously real issues about how much you can define that person as an "adult" who's capable of understanding the consequences of his/her own decisions. Most people I know who have had affairs have done it either through frustration with their own spouse or just to feel as though they can still attract other people into having sex with them. Imagine that feeling where you still find your spouse sexually attractive, but you get the feeling your spouse only wants to have sex with you because you're together, and you get the lasting impression they're just "going through the motions". It's not hard to see why that person would want find someone else who genuinely lusts after them. That said, I'm not convinced the above is the basis of a full-blown relationship. It obviously works for a purely sexual relationship, but not an emotional relationship and a physical relationship, perhaps even a spiritual relationship on top of that. Which is why I think so many people do have affairs, which are a leading factor in divorces, but hardly anyone actively engages or is interested in learning about polyamoury

http://en.wikipedia....ersity_shooting If we're counting two deaths as a mass shooting, I'd hate to think how many America is had in the last fourteen years. I'd also note that that shooting led to more restrictions on gun possession, not less, and was a major catalyst for the payback scheme in that state. Very weak point. Looking at just American numbers versus every other country in the developed world, I'm not sure how one could conclude that gun possession reduces it either.

If they did reduce it, the rationale would have be that the 5K CW cape is too much and it's no longer reasonable to make trimmed capes require them. If they did that, they could go far further than simply halving it, and I'd hope they would because even 500 games is around 200 hours gametime which is more than enough. In any case, there's people out there who simply don't like CW or don't have any interest in playing it. So why make them? I can understand the trimmed requirements which people achieve on their own, but you're asking a group of a random strangers to respect that this one person only wants to play the game so they can get a fancy cape. It isn't going to work, no matter how much you try and dress it, and people will AFK/bot it. Competitive games like CW should just be left as "competition for competition's" sake. There shouldn't be any onus to play them, except for the sheer enjoyment of it.
