Were they illegal at the time when everything collapsed or have they been made illegal since? Because pretty much every capitalist nation has taken measures since, if only for political reasons because the public demanded it, apart from anything else.

If you're going to post anything on YouTube containing any footage from a Premier League game, or even the Championship and lower divisions, you can bet your bacon the FA will act to take it down pretty quickly. TV rights essentially fund the whole game, from the top right down to grassroots level, therefore they have to be very protectionist about people, basically, stealing their work and posting it for others to view freely. You can't post a fixture list these days without paying for a license to publish it--not even Wikipedia get away with it because they're a charitable organisation. Just because it's entertainment and just because you give credit to the original copyright holders, doesn't mean it qualifies under "free use".

We went out last night, but the nightclub we went to was across the city centre, and it was raining, so there was loads of people complaining. To be fair, it was quite an icy cold rain since we're approaching winter, but if you'd have heard them, you'd swear you were in a tropical storm. This is the north of England, so this is nothing more than a drizzle... I can't imagine what they'll be like in January/February. It was a really enjoyable night out though, there was a good dozen of us and we all wanted to stay, so we did until closing time, stayed up for a bit afterwards when we got back to the flat. Also, notice I got drunk (very drunk) and I managed to keep away from Tip.It during that time. ;)

If the laptop's going to be used for RuneScape, then I'll use mine as a comparison. My i5/Intel HD 4000 runs RS on Medium settings at a very consistent 35-40 FPS. It really struggles to cope with modern PC games.

That's a pretty arbitrary figure without telling us which bits you like and dislike. Otherwise, a 6 for you might be an 8 for me, for all I know. :)

The Reggienator is a busy boy this November with the release of Wii U so I don't think his body is ready for any RuneScape right now. :P

Why WHSmith? I can't see how GAME's credit insurance issues would have prevented a deal to put these cards in a retailer that specifically focuses on the video games industry. I mean, EB used to own the whole bloody chain in the UK, and they're selling the cards in three other countries.

I think that generally, people will still be looking to boost DPS over survivability. With that in mind, plate+legs+kiteshield is probably too much. If it's dead it can't kill you, and as a bonus, floors get done quicker. BNs and GPBs (see: primal gaunts vs GPB) will probably be considered over the next couple of weeks, but there's too little information to make a decision on that right now. Additionally, if you set up in that order, the longsword will be equipped at the start over the maul. To save time, you might want to change that, although I'm not entirely sure why you need two melee weapons in the first place. Under the EoC triangle, if it's weak to slash, and you have a crush weapon, the crush weapon will probably do well enough. Also, consider a 2h over maul. Maul might be better since 2h was used mainly for its slash/crush combo, but again, there's not much information on DPS right now to know which melee weapon is best.

So CLS is definitely superior to CR in terms of DPS on slash? I'm just wondering because I've got loads of tokens saved up for chaotics; I've already got rapier, maul and xbow, so I'm wondering what my next one should be, and I've been waiting until EoC comes so I can better inform that decision.

I've always thought it was more spiteful than anything else. "I don't enjoy the game anymore and I hope that nobody else has the opportunity to". It's also a mental defence mechanism, and not a very subtle one at that. "I'm leaving this game, and to all those who think I'm doing the wrong thing, time will show I was right to do so at this point, and you'll wish you had too." Rather than "I'm leaving this game because I personally don't like it any more, regardless of how many people still do." For some of them, it might be the right time for them to stop playing and do something more constructive. I honestly wish them all the best in that regard, and I've come across people who I wish would follow that advice with that same level of self-awareness. But to say they're doing it because the game is less appealing to everyone is wrong; it isn't less appealing to everyone. We're moving off-topic but it's been a very natural progression to this tangent, so I hope the moderators don't mind us discussing it briefly.

Although the irony is that simply stating "I'm sick of hearing you whine" is equally as unconstructive as whining for unsubstantiated reasons in the first place. I have not done a survey (some would argue Jagex haven't either, technically) but I get the feeling from my own intuition that people are using this as the "final straw" for them quitting. Which is perfectly fine and understandable. Sometimes, it's not one big thing that causes an event, it's the culmination of lots of little things, and lord knows Jagex have done a fine job of not doing the little things properly over the years.

Why the platelegs and not another defensive bind such as the SSH? Personally, I can't see the setups being utilised all that much unless EoC makes it absolutely essential that they have to be. Because it's only accessible via the Smuggler at HT, you either have to waste all that time doing the HT spell, or one person has to keep their gate at HT so they can MGT to the Smuggler every time someone needs to swap around. So that's one less person gating a path. If you did that everytime you met something you're not quite setup for perfectly (every GD, ramo, clear emo) you'd add goodness knows how much time to each floor. Meaning the XP gained from not dying or killing things a bit faster would have to provide more than the XP currently gained from dying a few times but doing floors considerably faster--I can't see that happening. On the other hand, I can see them being used for certain bosses which take longer to kill. But with the combat triangle, as you say, becoming less pronounced in EoC, I think the effectiveness of even that is disputable.

Will there be two ammo binds? Because you can't use maged and ranged with only one bind, can you? I've not played EoC yet so I'm not sure how that works.

Rewriting history doesn't change the fact that stuff happened, though, does it? Also, unless you're highly delusional, it's not possible to make yourself simply 'forget' stuff. So what you're actually doing is hiding even more of yourself away from the people you're trying to form relationships with, which is exactly the opposite of what you should be doing. I understand what you're saying, and we all keep stuff hidden from other people for very valid reasons, but I believe 'transforming' yourself involves a very loathing perspective on your history, and I don't believe that's helpful in building self-esteem, and hence, self-confidence. BTW, can you stop getting with girls so you can update that Jad guide? IDK what armour to wear, whether to prioritise mage defence (Gano) or ranged offence (d'hides).
