There's two bones, but you're most likely referring to the shin bone, which is the tibia. Pain is good because it's the body's way of saying "There's something really wrong here," so get it seen to if it's hurting that much. Today I discovered that the end of the taskbar on Windows 7 is the Show Desktop button. I've missed that button ever since XP and I thought they'd removed it completely, so instead I'd pinned all my programs to the taskbar. Can remove all the clutter now.
  2. I have seen some people use that tactic before with vastly variable degrees of success. Honestly, though, whenever anyone in the past has come up to me and said something weird like that (well, maybe that's too harsh... quirky anyway), I've always thought they're attention seeking--there's just no other explanation for that kind of behaviour. Which, given what you're trying to achieve there, isn't too far from the truth. Attention-seeking is never an attractive trait, except to complete psychos.
  3. I'd definitely argue in ignorance that Punish and Flurry are reasons to keep to the 2x wield on melee. I'm not convinced Quake and Hurricane deal similar amounts of damage outside of DG, since slayer combat tends to be 1v1. Fascinating stuff though. I'll think about the ranged stuff next time I have a Vyrewatch task since I prefer to keep my momentum high for Rapid Fire and Snap Shot.
  4. If it's just a frustration that his way doesn't always work, then I can understand your point Champion. I've never played CoD, but if the glitching is what would be defined as 'game-breaking' or 'unplayable', then it does have a negative impact on the community because people are using completely unfair tactics to 1-up each other. FPS communities tend to be dreadful anyway, and have an awful reputation for it amongst non-gamers.
  5. ^ Generally, that's correct. Some monsters use attacks which target their own weakness though, like Skeletal Wyverns (weak to fire magic) using ranged attacks, which hits magic armour pretty hard.
  6. I haven't told any of the student nurses that I used to be in medical school, even my friends on the course. I didn't tell anyone about my past experience when I worked as a carer either. When they realise that I seem to know more than I should do about clinical examinations, A+P and pharmacology, I lie and tell them I did a year in a Biomedical Sciences degree. It's not that I'm ashamed of leaving med school, because it was the right decision and I'm sure I could justify it if people knew. It's more that the few people I have told responded with a face of complete incredulity, and I'd rather not have to repeat a fairly long-winded explanation of the reasons why I left to everyone I'll ever meet in life.
  7. I've just started going through that again as a bedtime read. I'm not a fan of self-help books at all but that one provides a much better framework than most on how to deal with people you don't necessarily know. Funny how you should mention talking about her interests... that's actually one of the key chapters, I found.
  8. I can confirm that the Rigour and Augury prayers have the same drain rate as Piety: 1 point lost exactly every 0.3 seconds with a 0 prayer bonus. Running some tests on the effect of Prayer bonus on the drain rate of prayer points. I think it's changed. I'll post again when I know for sure.
  9. Which bosses? How have they been made tougher (DPS or defence)? Does this mean they're tougher vs one particular class or tougher vs all classes of player setups?
  10. You have to wonder, even if Pep ever did end up managing Chelsea, how long would he last? Roman fell in love with the game when he saw Manchester United play in the CL, so says the myth; in other words, he discovered how successful Ferguson has been at United, thought he could emulate it at Chelsea. Clearly he didn't learn about the three years of misery that marked the start of Ferguson's tenure, because he's not given any of his own managers half that time to build the dynasty he desperately wants. Benitez? Well... he won the CL, and you can probably attribute Torres' dramatic drop in form to Rafa leaving Anfield. Apart from that, I'm looking forward to our next match with Chelsea. I think Rafa's a joke, personally, especially the way he handled himself towards his final years at Liverpool. He proved it further at Inter. EDIT: Just found this on Facebook, thought I should share here: In managers alone!
  11. It might not be useful to the Crew since it hasn't been submitted on Tip.It, but RuneShark already did a quick check of all of Kuradel's assignments; a list version is also available. XPW are doing a lot of work on the weaknesses of DG monsters, but I can't make head or tail of the way spell weaknesses have been allocated in particular. Different levels of the same monster have different weaknesses... madness. It's the same with Dagannoths in the overworld... 112s weak to air, 110s weak to slash.
  12. He's quite the celebrity, apparently. [hide="This is the famous Muggiwhplar...&quot]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jFLWRTIPCCs That strength level.[/hide]
  13. I've seen comments like "Palestinians have the right to launch rockets because it's their land." Conveniently ignores half a century of history, and Hamas's responsibility in the current crisis. Also, "Israel has to put up with Hamas firing rockets at it for no reason" isn't a proper representation of how Israel's foreign policy under Netanyahu has caused the economic ruin and consequent poverty in Gaza which indirectly lead to Hamas's rise to power. On both sides, there's a certain element of deliberate, self-induced confusion. Add to that the aspect of religion (it's pretty easy to boil this conflict, and others in the Middle East, down to Islamism vs Zionist Judaism), and you've got a really toxic issue on your hands. The mainstream media have always found it very difficult to report the Gaza-Israeli conflict, and by that I don't mean the past week, I mean the skirmishes that happen constantly next to the border even during ceasefires. Let alone do it in a way that is understandable and non-repetitive. That leads to a lot of ignorance on both sides.
  14. Haha touche Some of the information in that post came from Haaretz. That well known Western media source that has its HQ in Tel Aviv, obviously. Not to mention most Western media sources rely on some degree to reports from the AP and Reuters, both of whom have people in the Gaza Strip and Israel. So I'm not really sure why it annoys you. If all you're seeing is very biased interpretations of first-hand accounts from the conflict, I can understand that. But there's enough objective reporting out there to form your own valid opinion on the matter.
  15. Guys, there's 25,000 less people playing RuneScape midday on a Tuesday. That must mean 25,000 players have ragequit! Let's bring back old click-and-wait RS!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=At9eUkQdwDg Has RuneScape really changed that much in the past 24 hours? I give it a few days, they'll be logging back on.
  16. Erm... antifires if you can't use the shield. Have I missed something here?

I'm not a physiotherapist so I can't really help on that side of things, except to say RICE during hockey practice if it comes too much, and also don't postpone getting it seen to by a professional. Shin splints are usually caused by tears and bruising to the tendons surrounding the lower leg and if you continue to push hard on a leg suffering from them, the tendon will eventually cause a small fracture in the bone because the damage means they can't support the forces going through them any more, so if it's causing you this much trouble, don't "carry on", because it will make it worse in the long term.
  18. Israeli public support for the current situation would drop dramatically if Netanyahu decided to go ahead with the ground operation. It didn't work the last time in 2008, in fact many would argue it only made the deep societal problems in Palestine which lead to Hamas seizing control of the Strip worse. It resulted in mass Palestinian civilian casualties and drew widespread condemnation from leaders around the world. That, as well as other incidents, lead to Israel's loss of Turkey as an ally in 2010; Turkey in response to this crisis has labelled Israel a 'terrorist state', almost completely opposite to its stance in 2008. He could do it, but he risks a whole lot going wrong, not just domestically but the region as a whole, and even if the ground operation was a success (which it undoubtedly would be, the Gaza Strip has no military capacity to defend itself) then there would be the question of what happens next. So given all of that, saying that Netanyahu has fallen short of a full-scale ground operation isn't much of a sign of self-restraint, because actually, it isn't really an option on the table. What is notable, though, is that despite Hamas launching rockets with the expressed intent of killing as many Israeli civilians as possible, they've actually only managed to kill three in seven days. It's been very ineffective, as it has been for years. Contrast that with the sheer scale of retaliation by the IDF, and you find even less evidence of restraint; the IDF has launched far more firepower at the Gaza Strip in the past week than it has received, about twice as much on some conservative figures going up to three times as much if you believe Palestinian sources. Yesterday, fifteen IDF airstrikes killed more Palestinians in a matter of minutes than Hamas has managed to kill Israelis with rocket attacks in the last three years. That's damning enough, but just to round off, I'll leave you with the words of the Israeli Interior Minister yesterday, who said: "[The] goal of the operation is to send Gaza back to the Middle Ages."
  19. I'd be interested to see in the long-term, how you can mitigate the protect prayer nerf with the defensive abilities. Also, from what I gather, it's still pretty easy to SS your way into maintaining healthy LP levels.

Just overheard two of my flatmates talking in the kitchen (our communal areas were inspected today, they left a form for us to keep as a record): A: Did we pass the inspection then? B: Well it doesn't say we passed but it's really clean ain't it? A: Yeah it is, I've not got an email. Firstly, it's "clean" because myself and the remaining two members of the flat blitzed the place last Sunday, since we don't really want to face a £102 cleaning fine, even if we haven't caused the mess because we tidy up after ourselves. Those two haven't lifted a finger since they got here. Secondly, it's not actually "clean" because there's dishes piling in the kitchen sink going smelly and moldy; there's some plates that were there when I moved in almost two months and still haven't been touched! No prizes for guessing which two flatmates those plates belong to; the rest of us are refusing to wash them. But apparently, it's "clean" and they've passed the inspection when it's more like we passed it for them. Thirdly, if we had failed the inspection, they wouldn't email us, they'd just clean it and send us the bill later. I'm sat in the bedroom overhearing this, doing my assignment. I just let out a deep, condescending sigh. Really wonder what world some people live in.
  21. I wasn't really referring to you.
  22. New releases contain bugs? Never! I mean, seriously, c'mon... at least be constructive and actually post what the bugs were, so they might have half a chance of knowing about it.
  23. http://www.webcitation.org/6CIelbltz (WebCited permanent copy due to rapid development of story, last accessed 2012-11-19, 21:15 GMT) IDF admitted they did not know that Mr. Rabiyah, head of Hamas's rocket-launching operational unit, was inside the building at the time or not, but had bombed it anyway, admitting civilian casualties were a significant possibility. The resulting explosion killed four children and five others. Since the violence escalated six days ago as a response to Operation Pillar of Defense, at least thirty-four Palestinian civilians have been killed, although Palestinian sources claim this is considerably higher at over fifty. Palestinian sources also claim that the civilian injury total is now approaching one thousand. I've seen some images--I won't post them here because it would be grossly inappropriate of me to do so, but suffice to say, they're not fully grown men with a few bits of shrapnel hanging off their limbs (some of the images being circulated are actually from the Syrian conflict, but there's no doubting some of them are bona fide). This is an operation Israel claims it is carrying out in self-defence, that the deaths of at least three dozen Palestinian civilians, including women and children, and the mass destruction of infrastructure already crippled by an Israeli blockade which the UN has heavily criticised in the past, in a region world leaders have declared the densest "open air prison" known to man, has been a fully justifiable retaliation for the killing of three Israeli civilians in rocket attacks last Monday. It isn't a full-out invasion, but I am still truly baffled by your definition of "remarkable self-restraint". If Mexico's economic status was anything like Palestine's due to embargoes placed on it by the US, I would barely be surprised if Mexicans voted an Hamas-like group into power simply out of desperation.

I used to be very shy during my late teens. In fact, if you go back over my posts from about five or six years ago, you'd find my tone even on here was passive-aggressive, I didn't have the confidence to be assertive. When I was on the Crew, I wouldn't reply to PMs sent to me by normal forum members, or add people in-game because they wanted to share some information. I barely added other Crew members on MSN/Skype, it was really debilitating and it did affect my lifestyle quite drastically. The turning point for me was when I started working and, quite frankly, I had to talk to people and introduce myself, because if I didn't, I'd get sacked and I'd have no money. Like Randox says, 'sink or swim', and actually I realised they were just as nervous about meeting me as I was about them, and they actually took an interest in my background and my interests. I was very nervous at first, but I just kept smiling and the positive feedback eventually improved my confidence so that now, I'm not overwhelmed in those situations any more. I still get nervous, but I know how to use that nervous energy to good effect. Another thing I observed recently, when I started university and I noticed (usually, younger) people who were very reticent about introducing themselves to the rest of us in class, is that everyone gets intimidated by talking out loud. Even when people are quite friendly and talking to each other, how many of them play with their hair, or fiddle around with their pen, or shuffle their papers, or play with their phones, or avoid eye contact? In other words, how many people do the things we all do because we're feeling self-conscious? So, you can learn two things: It's not helpful to feel as though other people have so much more confidence in speaking than you have, and; It's probably not an accurate assessment of the situation either.

When the skin comes off, how well does the wound heal? How long does it take to repair completely? Is that time normal for you, based on past experience? I'd try a good moisturising cream before seeking medical treatment. You can use the fancy ones if you really, really want to, but your local pharmacist should be able to recommend a good cream for a much cheaper price. Also consider how much you're drinking in a day; dehydration will cause the skin to become itchy because it can't shed away the toxins which are irritating it. If none of that works, then you might want to have it examined by a healthcare professional.
