Dungeoneering Boss troubles.
It would help to know which Furnished bosses are tearing you to shreds, or more accurately, what they're doing that troubles you so much. Generally though, 43 Prayer is a starter for any kind of tough combat environment. I wouldn't worry too much over bosses at level 39 Dungeoneering anyway... it doesn't really matter if it's done properly at that stage.

Runescape Pkers = Ignorant Hypocrites
Danger is the absence of total safety. It isn't the necessary presence of it. I'm not really sure what your definition of dangerous is, but the revenants were not dangerous to anyone other than those training at the agility training course. Even then, PKers are far harder to evade than revenants. 1: So you'd have people grinding away at green dragons/doing Wilderness clue scrolls with absolutely no risk whatsoever? Frankly, I think you are crazy for even contempating this as a feasible idea. The Wilderness is exactly that--a lawless place where anything should go in terms of PvP. Remove PvP (or the revenants whilst they badly substituted that role) and you may as well call it The Plush Black Meadows, because there really isn't any niche left for it. A request to remove penguins from the Wilderness I can understand, so long as you accepted that sixteen points was no longer a fair amount to give per week, but to remove PvP entirely from some worlds is senseless. 2: No they can't be made as dangerous. Revenants cannot and never will possess all the small knowledge that some people on this forum term 'metagaming'. You go to any beat-em-up game's online community and try claiming that the difference between individual players doesn't come down to metagaming--you'll be laughed off within minutes. You'll be laughed off within minutes from here if you continue to persist that a computer manifestation such as revenants can 'learn' the RuneScape PvP metagame, which is a perminent state of flux. 3: Generally, appeals to how you feel are not good bases for a meaningful debate.

Which GE do you use?
It's terrible but I've never used the ROW teleport. Old habits die hard. Therefore mostly it's the NW from Edgeville, or SE from Varrock via Zaff's store.

Two dead in shootings at Virginia Tech
I think that's slightly disingenuous of you. You can't possibly have any understanding of this issue without acknowledging that those who want guns banned aren't doing so necessarily as a knee-jerk reaction. There are many people who would have them banned anyway for other reasons; this only highlights those reasons, but it isn't the reason itself.

Cold Showers
I couldn't do with cold showers. It's like going from zero to sixty in no time whatsoever... I bet somewhere in the day you'd end up crashing mentally because of it, probably after lunch where you're basically given the opportunity to sit down, stay inactive and eat lots of carbs. I tend to wash in the evenings with a hot bath to relax me and ensure a good quality night's sleep. That usually helps me with memorising information and planning my day ahead, if I wake up and don't feel so tired.

Things that annoy the HELL out of you.
Dyu think if they really did send all the gays out to die serving in the military, Rick Perry would run out of people to blame for the bankers giving out money to people who couldn't possibly afford to repay the debt back? Nah, that would be... common sense... or something like that.

OH [bleep] IT'S DEM GAYS IN THE MILITARY!!! My ex-girlfriend used to feel really proud of herself for recycling all of her food packages, while leaving the computer on overnight for no reason other than she couldn't be bothered waiting for it to boot in the morning. Too much funny.

06-Dec-2011 Loyalty Programme - Batch 3
Both of which have very situational use. If putting a dragon hatchet into a toolbelt meant losing the special attack, so be it.

06-Dec-2011 Loyalty Programme - Batch 3
Iron I'd be fine with since it has a 1 attack/1 mining requirement and therefore should be considered a "basic" pickaxe. I agree that it would be ridiculous to store dragon pickaxes in the toolbelt.

Two dead in shootings at Virginia Tech
Let's not do this as two families are currently grieving. Whether it was with a gun, cancer or suicide, allow some time first.

Runescape Pkers = Ignorant Hypocrites
If the danger:reward proportions aren't balanced, then the solution to that is to buff up the rewards, not remove the danger. I think almost all RuneScape players would like to see more risk for greater reward, rather than play a game with zero danger. 99 cooking doesn't really get the adrenaline pumping as much as entering the Wilderness does, end of. I also don't understand where this axiom of Peng Hunting > PKing has come from. Why does your 'right' to do penguin hunting outweigh a PKer's 'right' to kill players in their own backyard?

It's not a "free" MMORPG anymore.
There's a huge difference between knowing your business through university and experiencing your business through day-to-day work. I'd back the latter--hence the marketing team--everyday of the week. "My college tutor said they're wrong" isn't as solid as some people would like to believe.

Tip.It Times - 4th December 2011
Fascinating article by ALG, and completely agreed. The real problem with Magic has always been affordability. Unless you're tackling monsters which drop vast amounts of cash, it's impossible to offset the cost of runes. This problem was offset in Dungeoneering by the CSB, perhaps something akin to that is needed outside of Daemonheim. The problem is, if Jagex focused on mid-game content in order to incentivise lower players and balance a skill's potential across all levels, people here would [bleep] to no end about it, and they'd start complaining that they're not receiving their slice of the pie again.

Will all of rs wiki's content to be copied over to the official rs wiki?
Yep, absolutely. Jagex can keep their filthy mitts off the written stuff. I mean really, that's where this thread should end. "Will all of RS Wiki's content be copied over the official RS Wiki?". No.

Things that annoy the HELL out of you.
When my local store is ten minutes away from closing, I walk up to the front door expecting it to slide open for me, only to realise the door has been locked shut. It annoys me more that my visit would have lasted no longer than three minutes, considering I knew exactly what I needed, where it was located, and how much it would cost me, so there's no chance I would have kept the staff waiting beyond their finishing time. There was a pretty akward moment when one of the guys working there saw me trying to get in.

Botting in Runescape
You've got it the wrong way round, but the original sentence was ambiguous anyway. They said "the 99.97% of botters which populated the free worlds" or something like that. That could mean 99.97% of botters were F2P, it could mean 99.97% of F2Pers were botters. I'm not sure where they got the 99.97% figure in the first place so it sounds to me like it was just a very badly worded exaggeration, and not meant to be taken literally.

Derivative works of art are still beaches of copyright when the original image itself is subject to copyright, unless the artist can claim his work was published under fair use, in which case there are very limiting restraints on what adaptations the artist can legally make. Musicians are forever making remixes of each other's work, but unless they seek permission first, they're not entitled to claiming ownership of that remix (hence, claiming royalties for any profits earned) unless the original artist explicitly gave their permission for the new work to be published. Failure to obtain this permission before publication results in the work either being removed, destroyed, or the ownership of the work being passed back to the original artist. "It's a work of art" is not an excuse you want to [bleep] around with over copyright laws. If RS Wiki contains copyrighted material, they have no right to claim ownership of it unless Jagex said they could use it, which they won't have done. What RS Wiki does have certain rights to is the editor-produced, original content that the site contains, in a similar--though not identical--way as Tip.It has rights over the Crew-produced, original content on the main site here.

Life Changing Experiences
I think if you spoke to close family and those who grew up with me from an early age, they'd probably say it was my mother dying about four months short of my 10th birthday. When one parent is unable to provide the same level of care as they used to--she was dead, so I can hardly fault her in failing this obligation--I think normally the eldest sibling is forced into growing up pretty quickly in order to fulfill the minor elements of that role, at least that's what I remember of my childhood. I remember when I was 11 years of age being told to essentially babysit my younger brother and sister whilst my dad went to work just to put food on the table and keep his own career from falling in on itself. As tragic as those circumstances may have been, I can definitely trace my career ambitions back to those experiences. My year-long stint with the Tip.It Crew aside, everything I've done in terms of a job or voluntary work has been involved in health care or social care. I guess looking after my siblings in the aftermath of one of my parents dying sparked a more general interest in other people's welfare, and as far as life goes, your interests are what define you more than anything else. Apart from that, I've never really had an epiphany. I've not read a book that's completely radicalised my perception of the world, never listened to a song that compelled me to do something extraordinary. I've just always wanted to use my knowledge and talent to care for others who are injured or sick for as long as I can remember.

Drinking/Drugs
I pointed out it was a contradiction to have alcohol and tobacco legal, whilst marijuana is not. I'm not sure where this position differs to your own, apart from I think in an ideal world they should all be illegal, whereas you go the opposite way. The part you haven't validated, is proving that marijuana does not increase the chances of someone involving themselves in a serious accident. You've just talked about how alcohol and tobacco do the same and lazily dished that out as a response. So you're happy for all drugs to be legalised, and freely purchased over the pharmacists' counter? I'm not just talking your counterculture's definition of a "drug", I'm including everything that the British National Formulary has to offer. Antipsychotics... the lot. After all, it's my liberty as a human being to OD myself on lithium, right? The police needn't have been involved anyway. He has a right to medical confidentiality so long as he didn't break the law. He wasn't supplying, and he wasn't in possession of any marijuana at the time. I defy any police officer to bring a prosecution forward on the evidence of a head-injured man, in the company of a qualified first aider, turned up to hospital with a deep wound on the back of his skull, who just so happened to be stoned. An advice leaflet suggesting safer drug use maybe, but the police? Not a chance. I don't even know where to start with this. The implication that psychological illnesses are all "up to the individual" about how they treat their body, and are inherently less serious than physiological conditions (bolded), or even that the two are mutually apart in the first place; that gambling addictions can be "broken quite easily"; or the "not imposing on someone else" when their treatment is paid for by National Insurance contributions from every wage-earning person in the country.* I can only hope upon reading this you put that paragraph down to an 'angry rant' and edit it approriately. * I understand in the US, this doesn't apply so much. This applies more in countries were public funding goes directly into hospital care and management, and healthcare provisions.

Drinking/Drugs
I've seen plenty of people around me fall through the cracks in the life due to drugs. I think that's more to do with the criminality involved with the business of dealing banned substances, in which case I suppose legalisation would help. However, on the contrary, I oppose the legalisation of marijuana, having dealt with enough people who've taken it. In acute terms, it means people neglect their own safety because they're so high they're not bothered--I have literally been told by a person with half a unit pouring out of his head following a fall onto a large rock that I should not take him to hospital because there's nothing wrong with him and it'll only get the police involved--and in the long-term it creates a dependency which leads to whole load of psychosocial problems. I don't think why it was banned is particularly relevent in the first place. What matters is whether it's safe to legalise it now, and when you treat marijuana on its own, I do not believe it is. Any references to alcohol, and especially tobacco, are valid as examples of judicial contradiction, but invalid as arguments which prove marijuana is safe for public consumption.

25-Nov-2011 Quick Poll: RuneFest 2012 Location
As an event I think it would be better for players in New York. I also think for publicity's sake it would be better there than in London, so I voted New York. However, I can understand the logistic and financial problems of physically getting that many employees over to the US to attend the event. Of course, it's questionable whether I should've been allowed to vote in the first place, since I've no intention of attending the event whether it's held in Preston or Brisbane.

Tip.It Times - 27th November 2011
The fire article was easily the most pointless read I've ever endured on the Tip.It Times. No doubt this post will probably get removed since it's not positive constructive feedback, but I'm sure the BBC did not have to explain what football was for half of the Liverpool vs Manchester City match report on their website today, just for any reader to gain some comprehension of what they were talking about. As a reader I hold common sense, the real life ability to cook food, and an A-level in Chemistry, but feel free to lecture me and waste my patience nevertheless as if mankind hadn't discovered fire many thousands of years ago. A more useful analogy would be the cringeworthy difficulty the author had in creating his own suggestions for the skill, and extrapolating that to how Jagex must feel about the skill's presence in-game and its perpetual irrelevence to daily RuneScape life. I'm sure they'd get rid of it tomorrow if they could. They've recently been more honest about content such as waterfiends and how they should never have been released in the first place. I've no doubt they'd give Firemaking similar treatment--'We hate it, but it's too late to go back now.'

2011/12 Football Season
It saddens me that at a time where mental illness is becoming more understood and widely accepted, that people who see only hopelessness in front of them still feel that there's only that way out of it. It is truly sombering news.

Things that annoy the HELL out of you.
What's your pre-bedtime routine like? Is there anything you could do to try and calm you down again, like taking hot drinks, having a bath, reading... If all else fails, runecrafting does a fantastic job of sending people to sleep. But seriously, I've found that trying to sleep straight after not just RuneScape but any gaming session doesn't tend to lead to a good night's sleep.
