True. Your right though, it's more prevalent in forums other then H&A. It's the amount of proven incorrect information that is spammed and debated on every thread of a certain kind (Basically, any thread involving PVP\Bandos\Ranging\Slaying\Fighter Torso\Proslyte\Veracs\Whip vs. GS etc.) There's already one well known winner, a bunch of new members spamming incorrect information (which usually outnumbers correct info 3 to 1) just annoys me, so I respond, and it turns into a flame\item war :wall:

No it's not necessary :P I'm on your side here. My post was just directed at something else. I agree that those debates are unnecessary but they're not quite as harmful or rule-breaking as the ones I was referring to. I have a feeling it's what the OP was talking about, though. He was saying the same thing in the thread I linked to, and posted this soon after :P

Perhaps you could tell me when this great fall came about. They were trading for 11 tables the evening I bought my claws, 20 hours later they were still trading for 6-7 with the price rise. Then, the next morning, several clans dumped a couple hundred claws in the GE for max right after the update and began spamming the selling part, despite not having any of their own - they simply didn't accept trades. One thing lead to the next, and the price began to drop. They plan to buy them back up once it stops dropping and begins to rise again.

Nope. The thing was, all of those people dumped their claws THEN got them to crash. My friend was part of it, it was one of the big merchanting clans. They made eveyone believe it was the big crash - without doing anything - until it was. What are you talking about? I was watching it. They were selling for 4-5 tables AS people spammed 'selling for min! taking 100% junk!' 10 people spamming in w2, with only 2-3 legit buyers\sellers, and every single thread in the forums filled with 'selling for min!' spam made them drop. They didn't actually sell or even have any (they dumped them the previous night), but they convinced people who DID have them to sell them. This lead to a mass selling panic, and soon there were 10 legit sellers trying to sell. It snowballed out of control, just like the clan wanted. Now they'll wait and let them crash, snap up a few hundred sets for 20m, and watch as the market re-stabilizes when people realize that claws are better then AGS in every way yet harder to get.

Please. People were selling (and buying) with junk for over 100m. BH was always around 45-50m due to the extra risk\hassle.

People are stupid. AGS is beat by whip + defender in every non spec situation, claws\whip + defender >>>>> AGS. The crash started when a couple clans (and a few friends of mine) started trying to crash them, 10 people were spamming the forums and autotyping on w2 with offers of 'selling claws for min!!!!!' and not accepting trades, even while the claws were unbuyable for max, until a few people panicked and started dumping (friend dropped 19 claws on GE for max, I'm still telling him he'll regret it). They'll rise again. Oh, and stupid thing like 'never went for above 20m' are wrong, I spent 5 hours getting my pair for 11 tables (33m) + 30m cash. Jagex doesn't magically change the price players sell at, it was a concentrated effort to cause the crash. I'm willing to be it won't last, and I'm hanging on to mine.

But the problem is that those points have been hashed out a thousand times before in much greater detail in other threads. Is it necessary to have a complete debate with every H&A thread, especially if the OP has already made up his mind? And what annoys me are lists of stats copied and pasted from the KB, as if the OP couldn't be bothered to look them up themselves before buying. It just tends to hide the real answers and fill the thread up with pointless, redundant posts.

Congratz, you continue to make stupid statements without even looking at the numbers. The average Jagex wage is roughly 12.5 pounds, or 18 USD - roughly double minimum wage in Europe. Jagex also happens to be one of the best places to work, and is often included on 'top 100' lists. Take a look at the CR vs. technical divisions, in both size and growth. CR is half their company, and it's still NOTHING. Let's say it takes, including abuse reports, 2 minutes to review, read, and respond to a reasonably simple question or ban. Now let's say that each player submits 1 question or abuse report per month (NOTHING). That's a grand total of 1,560,000,000 submissions per year. At 2 minutes per submission, that's 52 million man hours. 2000 man hours in a year = 26,000 people, FULL TIME, to answer questions. Given that their current employee total excluding PR is 122, don't you think spending .4% of your money on development, maintenance and management and 99.6% on CR is stupid? And most people send in far more then 1 per month, I send in 50+ abuse reports per month myself (and would be sending in plenty of detailed questions).

Ehh, I haven't played too much so I can't comment. Just one other thing to add: MAKE AT LEAST ONE REWARD USEFUL Penance gloves are the only thing that is remotely useful - and even then, there's almost nowhere worth using them at. Make at least 1 'must have' item.

Exactly. They care about what we like, but only to the extent of making money. Customer satisfaction has precisely zero to do with what they want - if they can make a few more dollars while making some customers angry, they'll do it.

However, if posting random off topic spam is something the user is doing accidentally\not knowing it's against the rules and is informed, hopefully he\she will stop. Other then saying 'don't spam', there isn't really any other way to tell them not to do that. And if you've already posted your opinion, you don't really have a lot extra to add.

That is true. However, the infinitesimally small effect of +1 range defence is beat by the big drop in melee defence - Star hits you every now and then, making for a small (but still larger then an unmeasurable increase in range defence) increase in damage.

Waterfiends are the single exception (duly noted in the first post). Whip destroys obby weapons. Only use obby weapons when strength training and dont have a ss or want to use a shield. "don't want to use a shield"? :?
