Oh, Serephurus, I didn't mean to sound ignorant. I know all about the so-called "official" rules of Scouts, but I'm just saying that they're not exactly enforced around here, if that makes sense.

It might be different for you in the South, Serephurus, but Scouts aren't really like that in the north. Not much at all. I don't think they specifically tell people who they will let in and who they won't, but Scouts are a program for people who want to participate in all the events they offer and to have a good time with friends. I don't think it's a big deal. People don't go yelling out their sexual preference when they join, either. I hate the rules they have, though. It's not very fair, and I can see why you wouldn't want to join. We can't force them to do anything, though. That would be wrong. We should always debate with them and explain our side.
  3. *cough*Cancer that killed disturbed*cough* Guitar Hero does not count as cancer. We've been over this.
  4. The simple fact that it's taking away people's free will is what I'd consider harm.
  5. Immediately followed by competitive wine tasting!
  6. It's silly to think that this law will benefit the people of Russia in any way.
  7. Lol. Oh, Ghost in the Shell! I saw the movie, which was great. I'd love to start the series from the beginning and finally sit down and watch it.

    1. I was raised a Roman Catholic. My parents are pretty strict Catholics. 2. They might've hinted that, yes. They were accepting of other religions, though. 3. Yes, and yes. Currently, I consider myself an Agnostic. I don't think I'll easily pick a path and stick with it. I don't think I can accept that. Anything can happen. No one is sure about anything. Religion gives people hope, and that's a nice thing to have when you go through life. I'm not sure it's for me, though. Hell, I'm not sure it's not for me, either. Basically, I don't know. I'm very unsure about life. I haven't abandoned the idea of God. I still go to Church every once in a while. I love Christmas Eve mass. I love the atmosphere, and something there reaches me. I am comforted. It makes my Christmas, I guess. I'd like to have an answer, but I'm not sure I can come up with one. Not yet, at least. I'm trying to get there, though.

Michael Phelps! Wow! He won by one one-hundredth of a second! The length of one fingernail! :D
  10. You're probably one of those nutjobs who thinks the Large Hardon Collider is a good idea even though it might, you know, KILL US ALL. Nope, I was laughing at his scenario. I don't care if these technologies could screw us all up. You know what? They really could. It's a risk. But I love learning. I love seeing what humanity can do. I think it's smart to be skeptical. I think it's smart to worry about how this technology could be misused. But I think it's absolutely ridiculous to abandon a new technology because you're afraid of what might go wrong.
  11. With that attitude towards life, deloria, I'm inclined to tell you that you'll see the world differently when you're older.
  12. Well, that's a risk we have to take in order to learn more about the world around us.
  13. Ginger_Warrior, I don't pretend that I know what's going on inside their heads. I was telling everyone else that they didn't know themselves, and I, personally, was guessing a little bit. Using words like "probably" gives me a little wiggle room.
  14. You are an absolute riot! You have absolutely no idea what goes on in transgendered people's heads. They're probably torturing themselves, going over ideas in their head. Do I get the surgery? I'm such a messed up person. Why aren't I normal? Why me? That's what it's like in the beginning. Then, if they decide to get the surgery and/or the psychological evaluations, they'll be able to feel normal again. They have to go through all of that to just feel like you and me. And you're comparing them to serial killers and condemning their actions to feel normal?

Yeah, in today's modern times, I think it varies a lot more. There are probably still many people who follow Wiccan very traditionally.
  16. rushrock replied to Notorious_Ice's topic in Off-Topic
Serephurus, if I'm not mistaken, some Wiccans don't even practice witchcraft. I'm pretty sure that some don't even believe in reincarnation at all. A lot of what you're saying all Wiccans practice varies, I think.
  17. I would assume that it's an entirely psychological issue that you know nothing about.
  18. I don't have a problem with these types of surgeries. Now, should this transgender girl be able to participate in the competition? Well, I'm not sure. Probably, though.
  19. No, it's not wise. It's just being ignorant. You can be wise and research new technology without ending the world. And that's a ridiculous scenario.
  20. I think it's pretty cowardly to stop learning about the world around you because you're afraid of getting hurt in the process. This is a really interesting topic. I think it has real potential. It's incredible. I love science and its improvements. And also, wow! Invisibility cloaks! Awesome! :D
  21. I just thought that more people would like to see these nice drawings destroyed for their own entertainment. I'm still happy for those people who have their artwork up there, though. It's cool that it has survived.
  22. Are you saying that no one thought of destroying some of these really nice-looking drawings on Drawball that are completely free of any marks? They're flawless! Really?
  23. 12,017 I thought I'd share this with you all: 7PoJv4N1Too
  24. I won my Game Boy SP out of a game machine at a movie theater. It took a few tries, but I finally got it. I think I ended up spending around a few dollars until I won it. That was a pretty nice moment for me. Perhaps more skill than luck, but still, it was a great day. :D
