Workout routines/advice? (And general discussion.)
What's that supposed to mean? Basically, my goal is to shed some extra fat and get some lean muscle. That's my goal. I'm in fair shape right now (I think), but I could tone up a bit.

Workout routines/advice? (And general discussion.)
Yeah. I decided to start on more of a regular program. At home. I've got some weights, mats, etc...(The usual stuff.) I'd like to know specific things to do first, what specific things to work out, and what types of exercises are good. If you can, make me a schedule. Let's also make this a workout thread and a general workout discussion area. Thanks. :)

I'm hungry
Why don't you just go to the store yourself? Or why don't you just stock up on food at the cafeteria at your high school? :P

Looks like someone took my joke the wrong way. You know, how? Aren't they too young? Why did they do it? Did they know what they were doing?...etc. Calm down.

The chav VS Emo arguement were do you come in
Thank you. Your situation is a lot like the one at my school. We have all kinds of cliques. My group is probably considered the emo/goth group, considering what we wear, but I hate this social crap we have to put up with. We have to put up with insults every day for what we wear. We don't act depressed or anti-social, and we don't hate the other people in the school (minus the people who insult and stereotype us, of course). Chavs sound just like the jerks (noted above) at my school.

R.I.P. Kurt Vonnegut
My teacher loves Slaughterhouse Five. It was the first example she gave us when we were discussing his death and his works. I don't know if I'm allowed to stray so off-topic like this, but has anyone ever read The Outsiders? What a brilliant novel. It's one of my favorites, and I just recently read it. It's a bit straight forward, but it's still an amazing book. :)

My trip to Vimy Ridge soon

R.I.P. Kurt Vonnegut
Have you read Player Piano? That was his first novel, and probably the most straight forward socio-political book. One of my favourites of his :D . Well, reading the short intro on Wikipedia, it sounds like my kind of book. Sociology and utopias! Sounds like an interesting read! :) Have you read Cat's Cradle? I'm almost certain my English teacher has, and I heard it was pretty provocative, dealing with science fiction, politics, and modern affairs and such.

(Lucky bastard.) Have any problems with the locals? :P

what would you do in this situation?
I'm having some trouble picturing a chav... Well, considering what I wear, I put up with insults all day. Even so, I can't help but feel a fierce anger at the person who did it and the desire to beat him senseless. Even so, I usually just stick to an insult tossed back. 1. My group would've been more hostile, but sadly, more used to it. We would probably start a fight in less than a couple of minutes. 2. We would've thrown some insults back at them, and would continue with the insults until they either approached us or stopped. If they approached, we would try to swear them off, and if they attacked, we'd probably be all over them. I can tell you right now that if any of them laid a hand on anybody in my group, I'd be all over their [wagon]. I don't care if I got hurt (I probably wouldn't, though). I would be madder than you could probably believe, especially if they did all of the stuff mentioned in your experience. We would continue with the beatings until they fled or were "dealt with." 3. Afterwards, we would probably just continue with whatever we were doing. I swear to god, I can't take these kind of situations. I switch over to animal instincts and just want them to suffer for their actions. They shouldn't be able to do these kind of things.

R.I.P. Kurt Vonnegut
I read Harrison Bergeron in another book, but I'll have to get that collection. He was really a fascinating man when it came to social issues and science fiction.

R.I.P. My English teacher was pretty taken aback, too. I haven't read much about him, but I recently read a great short story by him. It was called Harrison Bergeron. I imagine that most of you have read it, but nevertheless, it's a great story. Dystopias always interest me.

I was given a family heirloom.
Do you speak English? If it was me in this situation, I would first make sure it was okay with her parents. Then, I'd probably wear it around my neck every day. I think she either loves you as more than a friend, or just loves you a lot. I would take it as her telling you how much she loves and cares for you, and how much she can trust you. Make sure to care for it and to note on what this gift is saying about you.

How happy are you with your current job/school situation?
Really? Where do you live? (Don't answer if you don't want to) I'd give my area an 8/10 (I'm in school). The teachers are great, they really know what they're talking about, but there are a couple of problems. This one teacher has a bit of an...odd teaching strategy. The classes are great, but the high school has a rushed feel to it. The rooms are a little plain and dirty, and some of the classes are a bit boring. As far as social stuff goes, we could use a couple of more places to hang out locally. Some of the people here are real [puncture]s, too. My friends are awesome and they really understand all of this, but some people are just...:-X
