  1. Read up half a dozen posts; it's asked, answered and then expanded on between indy and myself ;)
  2. Yea, I have a load of side-scrolling arcade on my Win 3.11/DOS box that I still play from time to time and pre-date Wolfenstein 3D by a good couple of years. Mainly Commander Keen, Duke Nukem with the odd assortment of puzzle/strategy games. I have a DOS game (Civil War) with no publish date that I can find anywhere, but it's essentially the PC version of this board game: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civil_War_(game) It's actually not that bad, some fairly good combat math when you look into it closer (factoring in supplies, military for both sides to determine units lots, victor - or perhaps even surrender). Great concept, I tried to remake it for a uni subjet but couldn't get the combat to work correctly... the person whos out-numbered starving army always seemed to kill more than they should...

    unwritten rules

No, it's don't eat it due to being full; or force it down. Even saying you don't like x ingredient can (and probably will) get you in trouble a lot; especially with females. Hell, even apparently being 'full' can piss people off, so it's fairly close to being a lose-lose situation.
  4. Game & Watch; got it from a second-hand store for a couple of dollars or something. I didn't own a console till the N64 came out but before that was a lot of years playing DOS games on my Windows 3.11 machine. Oh to play Zone 66 once more :(
  5. You'll probably find that Charles and Erik have a bit of path crossing when it comes to the X-men Origins: Magneto movie. Or should anyways. Edit: Given a quick look at the 'always correct' IMDB when it comes to 'in production' movies; you really wont need a movie for Charles after Erik since the two of them essentially go from ally-> enemy. The only miss will be Charles' youth. Depends where they chose to pick up Erik's life.
  6. That's the point, no overly fancy BS required. You could almost use those suckers with one hand
  7. Gamecube Wii + nunchuck Xbox360 Those are my top 3 in that order. I'm not a massive fan of dual analog sticks. The early Sega controllers are awesome but it's hard to place them with the NES/SNES controllers... and either way they're all behind my top 3 8-)
  8. I've seen trailers and advertising for this moving for a while too; and I have to say I'm really interested in how they handle Gambit... it's pre x-men era so i'd have to assume Gambit is working for ah... Mister Sinister still.. makes me wonder how many of the Marauders will end up on screen :ohnoes:
  9. I haven't read anything for a while; just recently started reading the Tomorrow series after a long stint of reading poker theory books. Which reminds me, if anyone plays a fair bit of poker and is interested in getting into HU: I suggest Collin Moshman's book Heads-up no-limit Hold'em, really good material and a decent price. Edit: Forgot to add, I really only like to read war/crime type of books. So I have a lot of John Grisham, John Marsden, Robert Harris, etc. Some Steven King floating around but horror/thriller books aren't as grasping to me as their movie genre so not as much there.
  10. oh... and would post secret be considered a real blog? I never really figured that one out...
  11. I read poker blogs; mainly stoxpoker tho.
  12. I'm one of those "I was going to join, but" people; I opted to get my degree first and re-evaluate the Army after, I still go over the recruitment information although with my current job I would have to quit that first (yay for 24/7 on-call jobs) before signing up. Things probably would've turned out different if I had a standard IT career. I still want to do it though, it's just a matter of how :?

    PS3

Tried GAME, EB Games or JB-Hi Fi? GAME and EB can sometimes have pre-played for a decent drop in price; although if you want new then... i dunno. Good luck there I guess.
  14. My only annoyance at the current time are dealers at the casino who pay more attention to having a conversation with people not involved with the hand, than listening to the players left in the hand. Sounds a little stupid but when you verbalise "raise" throw out a single chip which is over the min-bet (counts as a call unless verbalised) then have the dealer go " to call" then deny you said "raise" because he wasn't paying attention. I swear the next time one does that I'm going to get them removed from the floor for being unprofessional and hopefully fired from their job if i catch them at it again.
  15. I know one person in particular who almost ended up on the street as a result of other people rather than himself. While he was at uni (home in melbourne, studying in brisbane - so living on campuis), his mum had managed to blow her income playing pokies rather than making repayments on her house. He didn't find out his mum had lost their home until he was about to fly home. As a result he had: No home, no job, barely any money left due to uni expenses. He had to stay with different friends for a while as he looked for work but once he had it he was on his feet soon after. Yes there are people (take his mum for example) who get themself to the point of being homeless and essentially jobless (because you've lost your home and means of getting to work, etc) by their own actions and people like my friend who get shafted by others and ended up without a home or job as a result. What happens after that is usually a mix of luck and their desire to help themself out of that situation. The guy with the doctorate that flyingjj mentioned is most likely one of those people who did the right things and just ran into bad luck, and despite trying to get back on their feet couldn't quite get there for whatever reason. It's the people who have a goal for their life and are trying to move forward with that goal that I can feel sorry for, but the alcoholics, drug addicts and general... welfare leeches who have no interest in helping themself and rather society does the work so they can reep the rewards that i feel nothing for.

    The Wii laptop!

I think it would have been more sweet if they integrated it with a projector... but that's just me...
  17. where on earth is carmen sandiego?
  18. Exactly; at least on the PC you can use the console to get your items back (to a certain degree) but the time involved is still a complete pain in the arse. It's so much easier just to avoid it by not taking that risk to begin with. I personally use use my waterfront house since I make frequent trips to the enchanting and spell making alters. And it's in the middle of everything
  19. This is why I never keep stuff in places only accessable when an ad-on is installed, even on PC.
  20. Sue might just get her date Edit: I have some photos laying around her somewhere but i can't find the cable for my phone #-o
  21. money will have little value to no value... the only things which will are those with a practical purpose.
  22. Everything would have been sweet if nature didn't get its arse handed to it by humans who started using medicinal practices to live longer than they should have, disease and viruses exist as a means of balance (for all species). HIV is the most bastard one of them all, but it's purpose is to kill the victim... if you want the solution to the erradication of HIV/AIDS then isolate them from the rest of the population who are clean and when they all die the HIV virus should, in theory, no longer be present within the human specicies. Yes it is cold but the only method that would actually have a decent chance at working, bugger the drugs thing and let the virus wipe itself out by wiping out those it has currently infected. Nature just taking its course really.
  23. Pack my truck with everything I'd need to live off the land then go bush for a long, long time and emerge when I think the world has destroyed itself....
