I never understood the "natural" argument. The same goes for marijuana. I mean, I'm not against the drug but I just think something being natural doesn't justify it. There are natural poisons. Greed is natural. Killing is natural. Sex is natural. Just because something is natural does not mean it's right.

I think I disagree with the other users' posts. While it probably speaks for the majority of cases, it's not always true. The first time I asked my present girlfriend out, she said she didn't know and she didn't want a boyfriend. To me it definitely sounded like she only wanted to be friends. Then a few days later some stuff happened and she realized she did like me.

If you paid for something when it was worth 30M then that means it was worth 30M to you. If that price changes to 10M then how does that say it means 10M to you? It still means it is worth 30M to you, but 10M to everyone else. You could have bought 3 of them instead of one if you would have just waited. I still see that as losing 20M. Maybe since it was worth 30M at the time then he got the opportunity to use it while it was 30M, but when someone could have had the same opportunity and sold it when they saw it falling. That player would have kept 20M of their money. Although I disagree with your main point, I'd have to say that I'd like seeing these thought-invoking threads more often. :)

I was in the same boat during the first three years of high school. Had few friends, always got picked on, depressed, yadda yadda yadda. But now that I look back, it was definitely worth it in the long run. Now I'm in my senior year and I'm afraid to leave. If I wasn't so weird then I wouldn't have my girlfriend because that's why she likes me and also I wouldn't get to keep my pride either. So yeah, just be yourself. You might find other weirdos along the way. :mrgreen:

I could ask you for proof that time exists, but if I am stubborn and say that your "proofs" do not qualify and the idea of time sounds rubbish then does that justify my positive assertion, "No, time does not exist."? I've spoken to someone with experience about adoption and he thinks that any sort of caring home that a child can get should be taken into consideration. If you want to bring up how parents should be physically active with their children, then look around. There are many kids who never even played with their parents and while it might be sad, a lot of them grew up to be fine. If you want to bring up how the parents should be in good health because there is a higher chance of death which would leave the child homeless, then just remind yourself about where the child came from in the first place. I'm sure if the parent died then that wouldn't put the child on the street - it would put him back in the adoption center or he would inherit the wealth of the deceased. Either way, I don't see why that should stop anyone from being adopted. If you want to bring up how the parents should exercise, then that's something we can agree on. If the parent can take the initiative to workout and lose weight for the sole purpose of having a kid then they are very fit to be a parent indeed.

We can't do a study though. Therefore if you ask me, theists and atheists bring up equal points and should be treated as such. Maybe you missed my post where I apologized for bringing up probabilities but I think the point still stands. Instead of nitpicking technicalities, why not look at the main point? We know nothing about this concept. Therefore saying theists can be any more correct than atheists or vice versa is just plain wrong. None of us know! Well, since probability is the likeliness for something to be true, I don't see how there's any difference. There's nothing to say that one is more right than the other, so they are both as likely to be true.

Why is it wrong to equate God with a box of uncertainty, but it's okay to equate God with invisible purple bunnies? That's just picking and choosing if you ask me.
