  2. I decided it's time for a thread where you are free to be as arrogant as you please. \ Personally, I'd say I have some talent in coming up with some unique bass riffs. I just started playing this year, but I'm actually surprised that I can come up with music that gets stuck in my own head. So what are some things you are talented at?

By "we only care about ourselves," I mean that, at first, we only do things that benefit us. The baby might have understood that the person was trying to help, but this means that the baby used the person's help to get what it wanted (the candy).
  4. I think training is much more efficient than questing for Xp. The only time I Quested for Xp was when I tried to get 30 Farming.
  5. Couldn't you achieve that through exploring new areas though? Yes, it was fun getting lost on my way from Lumbridge to Varrock, but such a large update would require so much time and effort for such a minor cause. It wouldn't be worth Jagex's time. Anyways, it would only take a few days for us to find out where everything is again - if that. Many of us are accustomed to where everything is right now. If things changed, guides would have to change and we'd have to come up with different traveling/training methods. Some tweaks here and there could be a good thing - but changing the whole map is just too unrealistic because it would dissatisfy us more than it would help us.

When we are first born, we only care about ourselves. We grow older, see things happen to other people, see things happen to ourselves, and then we get a much greater sense of empathy - making it easier to think of others rather than ourselves all the time. Of course there will be the people who think that the world is against them and everyone has better lives than them. A lot of it has to do with what we see, and the rest is what we interpret.
  7. Yes. Big difference. I agree with everything TheKiller said. I know two wrongs don't make a right, but at least two wrongs can prevent a third or fourth or even hundredth wrong. Sorry, but if someone broke into my house and started attacking my family, then my sense of morality is going to fly out the window. I really don't care if the burglar had a hard life and he's a product of a bad society. Call me self-centered, but all I would care about is my family's welfare. If you want to say that the burglar was exposed to a bad society and that's why he's attacking us, then I can say I'm exposed to the burglar's act of violence and that's why I'm attacking him.
  8. Agreed. It shouldn't stop at 200. In all honesty, I think a formula would be more efficient than their chart. Like 300 gp per QP or something. They would never take out the restrictions altogether though. That's a very unwise move. And look on the bright side. At least the issues of bots, scamming, and RWT are things of the past.
  9. Same here. I also dislike Country, all that Indy-scene-screamo stuff, Power Metal, and R & B.
  10. Weapon: Wolverine's Blades. Song: Anything from Slayer. Companion: Scooby Doo. He's been around the block a few times when it comes to situations like these.
  11. Just because smarter people are nonbelievers doesn't mean they are necessarily right. It only shows that their different style of thinking will lead them to different conclusions - at least on a subject like this.

I learned something from South Park. The religion itself is not what causes problems. Heck, the purpose of Christianity is to make people act more passive and Jesus-like. It's the people who take everything too literally that ruin it. This goes for both Atheists and Christians. In my eyes, the Bible is supposed to be like a huge storybook of fables trying to guide us in the right direction. Like that little story of the boy who cried "wolf". It's not true, but it teaches some morality. I don't believe there is a man in the sky, but I believe that if we acted more like Jesus then the world would be a better place. Do you have to believe that there was a real occurrence of a boy crying wolf in order to learn the lesson?
  13. Did you really cry because of your hat, or did you cry because you were betrayed?
  14. It doesn't surprise me. Smarter people are usually the ones who like to question things. Religion is usually passed down through family. Atheism usually comes when someone tries to seek the answer themselves.
  15. Thank you guys. :D Another quest down - two to go!
  16. Crying over a video game is pretty extreme, don't you think? I can see someone getting angry over something like that, but I just can't visualize someone crying over an item.
  17. Wings might look cool but they probably would get in the way of a lot of things like sleeping or sitting down. I'd rather fly like Superman.

Pot doesn't kill millions of people per year either. You were using extremities to show that pot can be dangerous. I was using extremities to counter you and show that anything can be "dangerous".
  19. Shortbow. It's slightly faster. Plus the MSG special is alright. Not much else to talk about on this subject though...

Why use the fact that it's illegal as a method of showing how "bad" it is? It will only make the conversation go in a circle. That makes it the person's fault because they were driving the car under the influence - not the drug. It's like stabbing someone with a pair of scissors. Is it the scissors' fault for being so pointy - or the person's fault for being violent in the first place? To Goddess: I don't know what just happened. I was trying to show Laura that her logic was flawed because just like there are cases where marijuana causes harm, there are cases where video games and sports cause harm too. You said that I'm being biased so my comparisons count as nothing. I don't know how that counts as an agreement...

I don't think you get my point. Marijuana is said to be "useless" because the cons outweigh the pros. But in reality, I can make anything look like the cons outweigh the pros. (sports and video games) Let me rephrase that. Can the act of smoking itself break one of your bones? And if you're saying there's still some freak of a chance that you can break your arm while smoking, then I'm going to say there's some freak of a chance that you can get knocked in the head while playing sports, causing brain damage.
  22. Zierro replied to user1991's topic in Off-Topic
Can you break your arm, leg, or even become paralyzed when smoking? And what is the point you're getting at? You're just saying you don't like my approach rather than countering anything directly.

Many great musicians were inspired when using this drug for recreational purposes. And this goes back to the Jazz times, not just Rock. It doesn't just stop in the music industry though. I'm sure you've heard of South Park. It's about as "useless" as sports and video games. People do both of those activities because they enjoy it, yet there are consequences if they take it to an extreme level. The same could be said with a mild drug like marijuana. Video games have been known to take control of people's lives. An unhealthy addiction can be very detrimental to your health since you're not exercising your body and you're staring at a screen all day. Should they be illegal? Same goes for sports. People kill each other over competition, take steroids, lose tons of money on bets, etc. Does that mean sports should be illegal? If there's something wrong with using marijuana occasionally for enjoyment, then there must be something wrong with doing anything for enjoyment because there are cons to everything - not just drugs.

Marijuana's not sown into the economy? Do you know what hemp is? Back a few hundred years ago, farmers went to jail for not growing the plant. I don't get why you think marijuana is completely "useless". http://blogs.salon.com/0002762/stories/2003/12/22/whyIsMarijuanaIllegal.html
