This is something I've been thinking about lately. Asking what the meaning of life is is like asking what the meaning of the number 8 is.

I can't believe I used to talk a bunch of trash about Halo. I thought it was boring because I played multi player with my nooby little cousins, didn't have that much fun, and then made up my mind that the game sucked. What a fool I was. I've been playing Halo multi player with people around my skill level lately and it's addicting as hell. I still think the campaign sucks though.

If you truly want equality, then you should want equality for both genders instead of just picking and choosing to get rid of the things that negatively effect women and keeping all the things that benefit them. This is exactly what makes feminism annoying. When people victimize themselves over absolutely nothing and point the finger angrily at men. You seem to be forgetting that there are plenty of pro-life women out there. Yes, I do think women should get the same pay for the same work, have the ability to vote, and so on, but making men into monsters is barely the way to do it. I also think it's ridiculous to fight the establishment just for the sake of fighting the establishment. There ought to be a good reason for doing so. Like I said, I understand wanting equal rights and all, but some of the arguments feminists use are just pulled out of their behinds.... I mean purses. Yeah, I went there. Better go get your picket signs, there's a bigot on the loose. :roll:

I don't get how that is bi-polar. It sounds like chronic depression to me. Bi-polar means you switch from two opposite emotions frequently. That being said, isn't everyone bi-polar to a degree?

I took a road trip from Florida to North Carolina and back in a piece of crap pickup truck, all in one day. It took about 20 hours or so.

You decompose and go back into the ecosystem so that others can have their turn to experience life. Other than leaving a mark on the world through your actions, you end. Heaven and hell are just tools used to keep people in line.

It's funny when people take coffee seriously. I'll have it once in a while. I'm not that big of a fan. I only do it because it gives me something to do.

Yeah, now that I think about it, there are many occasions where saying something should get you into trouble, such as threats. Scrap that. :P For the most part, I agree with you. There are two things I would like to challenge though. 1.) Sometimes getting a teacher involved can make matters worse. If the bully gets into trouble with the school, well, that's just another reason for him to be angry at you and to see you as "weak". And there are teachers out there who really don't care anyways. 2.) I'll take it that your main point was this: Humanity should try to prevent bullying to the best of our ability. I agree with this, except you didn't include the victim. I believe the victims have a role in the fight against bullying too. To answer your question (this is relevant to # 2, so bare with me), I have experienced school and I've also experienced my fair share of bullying. I used to let the stupid things they said get to me. Then I matured and realized they were the idiots - not me. So from my experiences, not letting them get the best of you is the best cure for bullying. Of course the rest of society has a pretty important role too. Parents, teachers, and friends alike should try to help bully victims with their self-esteem problems.

I'm not talking about letting them free. Even if it wasn't their fault, people would still want them locked up to prevent it from happening again. I'm talking about how people see murder as wrong, and still say suicide is okay because you shouldn't be accountable for it due to factors influencing you. People like having something to put the blame on. When it comes to suicide, to blame the killer would also be to blame the victim. So who can we blame it on now to satisfy everyone? We blame it on brain chemicals. Ever notice how we never blame brain chemicals for rapes and homicides? That's because we can blame the perpetrator without also blaming the victim. It's a convenient little ploy to prevent feelings from getting hurt. The reality is this: Suicide is not an involuntary action. Your body does not automatically grab a knife and start stabbing itself. It is you who does that. Sure, there might be uncontrollable thoughts that surge through your brain, but to use that as an entire justification for doing certain actions is just ridiculous. You can use that to try and justify anything wrong. Things might lead and influence you to do bad things, but ultimately, it is you who makes the decision in the end. Depression doesn't force you to commit suicide, it just makes you want to.

I think I've come to a pretty fair conclusion on the last thread. Legally, there is too much philosophical ambiguity for the government to have much of a say here, so they shouldn't be allowed to stop you. However, if you personally feel that it is wrong, I can see where you're coming from.

She was simply pointing out that living should be a "right" rather than a "responsibility". What's so wrong about that? I mean, I disagree with her but come the hell on people... Something a lot of courts look at is intent. I think purposely egging on a suicide indicates far worse intentions than most cases of manslaughter (which are often because of negligence). PS: I've always found it funny when people try to justify suicide because "their brain chemicals made them do it", but then cover their ears when you bring up homicides.

I just see holidays as an excuse to party. I don't care about the meaning behind them.

There isn't really a single game that got me into video games. As far as I can remember, I've always been intrigued by video games.

I had a love-hate relationship with high school. My school was flooded with hardcores, so while it might get annoying it was also pretty entertaining.

I think animal cruelty is wrong too. I just don't see why you are putting humans on the same level as every other living organism. Surely you would choose to save a human's life over an ant's? We have a world of difference between us. For this very reason I am against animal cruelty. Our actions should be more reasonable since our minds are capable of it compared to animals. I guess you can say more is expected from us. I don't really have much sympathy for an ant if it were in pain, but the fact that a human would want it to suffer is what bothers me. That kind of behavior can be expected amongst animals but it's disturbing that a human mind would think of something so cruel - we comprehend the concepts of pain and suffering, so we should be expected to avoid causing it. Animals don't understand those concepts though. So my point is, if you see animals and humans as equal then I don't see how you can think animal cruelty is wrong.
