Just let it go downstairs in its own time. Chances are it's just a little apprehensive and after learning to go down the stairs herself she won't feel so nervous again in the future. Well, that's what happened with my dog anyway.

IIRC, a man in Britain was jailed for deliberately spreading the HIV virus when he knew he had it. I'll try and find a news source. That gives me hope that these people would get jailed should they ever committ the act. I'd also like to stress this is an extreme minority of the homosexual community.
