Some people see it as a challenge to get a high stat on 3 combat, because their access to better spots might be limited because of their weak combat. Some people see it as a challenge to level on 1 def for the same reason, or no combat and merely range. It limits your capabilities, requiring you to be more skilled in what you can do. And, back in RSC, a pure was perfect for PK-ing, due to the combat level formula being much different. Not stupid at all, in my opinion.

And if anyone's wondering, we're NOT talking about the Underground Farm scandal either :P
